I looked at my last post and realized it's been just about a month, and I'm not gonna go back and reread my last few posts so maybe I'm repeating myself, but in short this has been a weird year, lots going on in my personal life (nothing bad, just occupying a lot of brain cycles) and I've been having a mix of focus issues and just a really, really, really bad case of writer's block + complicated-topic-itis.

I'm still working on the script about the TEMPEST machine, it's just very involved and i had to do a lot of research - but also do a lot of work just figuring out how to talk as un-impactfully as possible on a subject I don't really know that much about. This one really needs to be "for entertainment purposes only," where nobody's likely to take anything I say as gospel, and you'd be surprised how hard it is to pull that off while still being entertaining.

With that said, I'm actually hoping to shoot this next week, but one thing I could really use, if anyone has it, is pics of one of the IBM TPC IV keyboards that went with these machines. I have great pics of one of the monitors, but the keyboards are really tough to find. The only examples I can find are on Deskthority and Reddit and the uploaders aren't replying to my requests for permission; I just sent out another one, maybe that'll pay off, but if you happen to have one of these or can find one, uploaded by someone who hasn't dropped off the face of the planet, that'd be appreciated.

Video soon. Thanks!

I have seen many of your videos and your last one was one of my favorites, definitely worth the wait. Quality over quantity wins IMO. Keep up the good work CRD! In the meantime, Marathon streams have been fun :)

really hoping your personal stuff goes well, whatever preoccupies you. thanks for the update, can't wait for the video <3

The example of being able to capture the video / rf being emitted from a computer and being captured by SDR was amazing. Scary to think a spy can put a device and be able to capture data / screens in that way back in the day. Can't wait to see more on the TEMPEST and how that was the solution.

take your time, gravis. if it's worth doing it's worth doing right.

I’m so sorry, I know this is really not the right place to put this, but I don’t know where else to post this to get your attention. I work at a mom and pop A/V store that’s been around since the early 80’s. We have a massive warehouse FULL of old gear - it’s a treasure trove of vintage stuff. Either way, we’re moving soon and a bunch of that stuff is just getting thrown away or put on eBay, but I can also take whatever I’d like. I already grabbed an old Sony Video 8 AF and GE camera and some CRT test equipment, isolation transformers, oscilloscopes, etc. I didn’t know if you’d want any of this stuff, but I’ve grabbed it with you in mind. Also, if you’re looking for anything in that category, let me know. We have tons of test equipment and editing equipment from older generations. I’d love to send you some stuff if you’d like to have it.

Cole, it's not a problem at all to post here! But it'll be easier to work out if you can email me some pics - cathoderaydude@gmail.com - let me know if that works!
