It took me like six tries to come up with some good alien brain control pop culture refs but I think I pulled it off. Sorry for not releasing this one Early at all, I got it done right at the edge of a two week period and I wanted to release exactly 14 days after my last one.

Do you want an N900? It is a really cool device.

So, I just watched this and I have one of those buttons on this Dell Precision M6500 laptop. IT NEVER WORKED, that I can tell. I tried it a few times, I even raised a support ticket with work (it's a work laptop, issued in 2010 and retired with a derpy screen in 2014 or so) to ask what that button did, because it did nothing that I could tell, and I'm a curious bunny. Anyway, I think I know what's wrong. I think it's doing the reader thing you outline at the end. Except, well, day one (I'm a bad corporate citizen but they honestly don't care as long as I don't leak secrets and phone home occasionally) I wiped the disk and installed linux instead. I reckon that it's trying to find that SYNC.SYS file and of course it's missing (wot no NTFS or FAT disk) so it fails to boot at all. Heh. Edit: I still have the laptop - it was on legal hold for _reasons_ so I could never return it to corporate. Big old hunkojunk now. Edit 2: I got the back off, and there's a billion expansion points, including a SIM card tray I never spotted until now (13 years too late :joy:). But there's nothing like that instant on module slot. I have UWB, FCM, WWAN, WLAN, memory slots, a second hard disk slot (did I say this thing is MASSIVE).. So it's either baked onto the board like your Z600, or it's doing the reader only thing..

Wait, what? NOT the perfect size?!

You continue to make interesting and engrossing content out of things that I otherwise would have never given a single, solitary moment of thought or consideration to. I don't know how you do it. But please.. continue.

Rewatching the video, have you tried a higher wattage power brick on the wireless sadness stand? Wireless chargers have horrid efficiency so to supply the machine with 45w of power they're probably pushing over 100w into that transmitter coil. (side note... dell.... pogo pins exist, try them)

Related to the whole SSD bit, I have an HP Mini 1116NR netbook from '08/'09 with a 16gb SSD. That's it. Came with XP and 1gb of RAM. Other than storage it was a pretty nice machine :v
