I have been completely overwhelmed by the support you've all shown me, and I was going to the thrift store anyway, so here's a video about that to help you burn 40 minutes of dreary family gathering time. The iBuffalo SNES clone USB pads are actually really good and I use mine regularly for anything I play on PC that doesn't require analog. Was using one today to play some bullet hell SHMUPS even. Sad they're out of production; I'd have jumped on those in a heartbeat if they were in decent condition to have a spare. They do have the problem they don't present as an XBox pad and some games get really stupid about that control mapping wise, though. (Steam's controller support mostly fixes that for stuff you run through Steam, most emulators with remappable controls are fine.)

Buffalo SNES pads are actually pretty great. They were discontinued around the time the SNES classic came out but they were better than the competition. 8bitdo blows it out of the water but I had a set of 4 Buffalo for shenanigans at GDQ. Also, it is me. I am the person who bought Herb Alpert.
