Warframe - Marie Leroux (Patreon)

Hewo~ Despite being Mastery Rank 30 with almost 3,000 hours in Warframe, I somehow had never made any fanart for the game… until now (?). I chose Marie Leroux, the proto-frame (AKA the "human version") of my main Wisp, for this piece. I wanted to capture a very charged, intimate moment between her and the Drifter:

-“Marie… I’m so close…”

-“M-mon loup… attends— ah!”

-“Shh… just look at me.”

-“C’est trop… I can’t— hngh…!”

I went with a very “human” version of her this time because I didn’t want to overcomplicate the drawing with all the proto-frame details yet (???). Maybe I could do a second version closer to her canonical design to give her that proper Warframe flavor.

Lately I’ve been loving these tight close-up, “incomplete” shots. I prefer focusing on expressions and small details to create a stronger feeling of shared intimacy with the viewer. I also added cinematic letterbox bars to make the moment feel more private and intense (though I’m not sure if they fully worked). I still have a long way to go technically, but like the carp in the stream staring at the waterfall… I’ll keep trying to make the jump.

So tell me, Tenno: Would you like to see more drawings of Marie (especially her full proto-frame version next time)? Other Warframe characters? Or maybe characters from completely different universes? I’m open to all your suggestions!
