You can't do the events because you used an old save. To be sure those events will work properly, you should use a new save.

Game is fun so far! You might want to make the volleyball game shorter. It took me about 30 minutes to finish the match.

i cant seem to beat it for some reason is there like a pattern to follow

There isn't a pattern of who it goes to. But what will happen is after the ball is hit by the opponent. It will go right above the net. Then it will go in front of one of the 6 people in the game. You have to select that person that its in front of to hit the ball. You don't have to rush the game gives you ample time to figure out who its for.
