Hi Guys!

So despite my ongoing stream of bad luck, I got the video pulled together and finished :)

This is my love letter to the hills of the LOTR films, and real life - the kind of hills that dwarf people and make most of the board sloped in some way...

I grew up in Durham, a rather hilly city (Town really, but we had a Cathedral, so we got upgraded...), and from a lifetime of walking and cycling up and down the damn things I can tell you - real hills aren't as small as the stuff we always seem to use on tabletop!

As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the video, either here or on Youtube, so do let me know what you think!

I'm aiming to release this publicly on Monday, so you guys have it a fair bit earlier this time, and I'll be using this weekend to...work 😅 Just a bit, not a lot I promise, I need to put up shelves to house the ever growing pile of crafting materials I need for future videos. After which I will try and relax and not burn out. Honest. 😁

Hills Are Not Small Lumps! Better Sloped Terrain for D&D and Wargaming

Hills are not small, but they often get crafted this way for convenience, and I'm…not a huge fan. So I decided to craft some epic modular hills that can be easily stored, but combine to show realistic, vast sloping hills and valleys for D&D and wargaming. It also contains constant setbacks, so with any luck it'll be helpful even if it’s not hill terrain you're looking to craft! This build can be scaled up or down quite easily, but the main point is to have hill terrain for D&D and wargaming that suits the epic vision we all have in our head from watching LOTR and other films, of grand slopes and rocky outcroppings, sweeping valleys and winding shapes… I should make clear, I'm not saying other ways of making hills are bad. Rather they just don’t fit what want to get out of hill terrain. If you agree, hopefully this video will be useful :) ⚔️ SUPPORT BY JOINING THE ARCHIVE ON PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/RPArchive 🛠️ SUPPORT BY BUYING EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS: http://bit.ly/RPEquipment Everything I use should be linked on the equipment list above, so it's also a library of where to find stuff… 🔔 Subscribe and click the bell for more D&D terrain! 👍 If you found this helpful, help me out and like the video up there! Festive Life PreservER

Anyone have an idea of how many of each tile is a good idea? I’m planning on 2 convex, 2 concave, but don’t know how many of the straight tiles to make.

RPArchive

I made 4 straight tiles I think, and 4 of each corner. I also made 4 half straights and 4 roads, I think...

Thanks Matt, I used the .png file and it printed fine. I'm sure it's my printer settings on the PDF file then.
