Movie run-time:  1 hour, 56 mins
Watched on: Netflix (UK)

For copyright reasons, full-length reactions don't include the show or movie footage so you'll need to have your own copy to watch along with me. Ideally, you'll need two screens or two browser windows. One for the reaction, and the other for the show you're watching. Using your mobile is also viable to watch one of them.

As many different streaming services in different countries often play trailers or recaps before the show starts, the easiest way I've found to sync up footage is to find the first frame of the episode, generally right after the opening credits finish on your own copy (unless of course, the show has a cold open), then pause it. Don't worry, I show you the frame to look for at the beginning of each full-length reaction! Next, play the reaction and you'll see a countdown timer at the end of the intro and when the show is about to start. Press "play" on your copy when the timer reaches 0:00.

A small (but muted) portion of the show will stay on the screen to allow you to properly sync up your copy if you need to adjust it. The easiest way to eliminate any small discrepancies between the two is to rapidly pause and unpause the video that's ahead until both are running simultaneously.

I def tear up every time I see this one, looking forward to watching with you.

I think the very beginning of the film was actually set after the alien contact. That's the way I justify it anyway. She seems to start getting the visions once she starts to understand the language during the encounter. It's a good one to rewatch.

That was the assumption I came to as well. (I may have to go back and check what I said at the end if that's not clear haha)

Great reaction as always and so happy you liked it. This one slays me every time I watch it. Just amazing nonlinear storytelling with beautiful performances from both Adams and Renner as well as the rest of the supporting cast. This is just one of the slew of absolute bangers from Denis Villeneuve, one of the most incredible directors currently working in big budget major studio film. I truly hope you go through his filmography over time as it's absolutely brilliant. If you're ever asking for future suggestions I'd beg that you keep his name in mind. Just sticking with the English language films, everything from Prisoners, to Enemy, to Sicario, to Arrival (now checked off the list), to Blade Runner 2049 (would certainly suggest watching the original Blade Runner from Ridley Scott first on that one), to Dune parts 1&2 have been absolute masterpieces of cinema. He and Christopher Nolan are wildly consistent with their homeruns, so very excited to see what you think of Inception as well. Hope you're having a great week.
