Status Update - Polish Patch, Rowan & More! (Patreon)
Content
Hey everyone! No specific news today, just wanted to fill you all in with how things are coming along!
Our main focus post-launch has been to prepare a big polish patch that will bring some nice-to-have improvements to the game and revise art from early chapters up to our current standards! We've made headway on both fronts, as well as on some new unlockable bonus content-- a special cherry on top! The second draft of that content is written and under review, and I'll be coding it in next month. Our goal is to get this patch out as soon as possible so we can begin work on the next romance path!
On that subject, Rowan's first chapter has been fully written by Little Librarian and is on my desk for editing and coding into the game! I'll shift gears to focus on that as soon as the patch is out, but in the meantime we'll be able to use the text as a basis to make some new concept art for Rowan when our artist has time. I'm really excited for that post! After your help choosing Rowan's transformed form, we're looking forward to getting your input to help guide Rowan's look at the beginning of the story!
We also have a few extras in the works while we make progress on the main projects. The mighty Boobrie won the vote for the next Baird's post and the entry has been written; we'll be able to share it with you as soon as the accompanying art piece is done! Also, now that the game is out, I'm stealing moments here and there to circle back around to working on the much-requested dakimakuras! Due to their large scale and high resolution for printing, the detail on the art is a step beyond even what we try to achieve with our normal game sprites and takes quite a bit of time to paint. Jessie's daki was finished in time for our booth at AnthroCon last year, but we had to shelve the other sisters' designs in order to make the game ready for launch.
Like Jessie's daki, each side will show a sister at a different stage of her transformation. Here's a WIP of Marion's bovine side:
There's still deeper shadows, highlights, shine, pillow shading, and color/value balancing to be done, but it's coming along!
Unfortunately our team won't be able to attend AnthroCon this year, but in place of a booth we'd like to make the merchandise available online. Once the dakis are finished and printed we'll find a way to make them available for purchase, along with all the other merch left over from last year's AnthroCon booth. But that's a subject for another post, when we know more details!
Thank you so much for supporting our continued work on Changeling Tale, and hope you all have a great weekend (Memorial Day weekend, for our American friends)!
