Isn’t Triple D just another way of saying E cup. Which I know doesn’t give an image of quite as big a pair of breasts

I think DDD is a US (N American) sizing convention that is not used elsewhere. US sizing apparently uses DD, DDD and DDDD before going back to E, F, G, etc., whereas Euro sizing just uses D, E, F, G, etc., so a US DDD is equivalent to a Euro F-Cup. In Oz, we use a mixture of systems, depending on where the garments come from, but the official Oz sizes are AA, A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, G, etc., so a US DDD would be an Aussie E-Cup. There are some brands here who market FF and GG sizes, but they are not officially recognised. Only AA and DD have double letter sizes. We generally have to always try stuff on because we get sizing systems from UK, Euro, US, Oz and Asia (mostly China, Korea, Vietnam, India and Pakistan) and they're all different.
