Hey everyone! Slight delay but we are finally on the second stage of the Writing Contest! Choosing a Subject for our participants! Spaeking of which...

As for the options, I thought that seeing how this community is based around Ovelord, while the subjects may vary, the story itself should be based on this franchise. Though, i will still put an option for those who wish to vote for the subject not to be on Overlord, if this options win, we are going to have a second short poll to decided the subject of a non-Ovelrod fic.

To summarize here are the options:

Romance: But not any romance, i want you authors to squish those creative juices out of your brains! So it is a romance but only with extremely rare or never seen before pairings (so no Ainz x Albedo or any other mainstream pairings, hell! genderbend if you want, just make it unique!) PS: If you are unsure of it being a mainstream pairing, feel free to ask me.

Slice of Life: Self-explanatory, a slice of life moment, but with a caveat, no Nazarick Slice of Life, meaning that if you want to use a character from Nazarick the slice of life moment must happen outside of the Tomb and a NW character should be included.

Comedy: Again, self-explanatory, though, here no Ainz is allowed! (not exploiting the very much overused misunderstanding comedy)

New World Perspective: A new world character-driven story, pretty much whatever you want, but the main character must be from the new world and is the only POV of the story (can go from horror to adventure, whatever you wish)

Yggdrasil Days: A story from the Yggdrasil days of the Guild Ainz Ooal Gown (or Nine's Own Goal) give the prequel of the story some love!

Wholesome Friendship: Self-explanatory, give us some wholesome friendship moments! (Neia and CZ are banned for obvious reasons, i am not gonna make it easy for you)

Lots a feel good options it seems. Not gonna lie comedy seems a little redundant as most other options would include comedy as a by product. Poor thing got 0 votes. Bro showed up just to be publicly humiliated. I appreciate his contribution to the poll at least lol

Question: for the comedy, are we still allowed to use miscommunication without Ainz being part of said miscommunication? Or is it both no Ainz and no miscommunication?

Miscommunication is fine without Ainz, i personally think Overlord has already enough of that and participatns should think of something else, or twist it in a different way than canon. But anyone is welcomed to do as they wish, after all my personal vote is as valuable as anyone else's

Damn, I was hoping the romance one wins. I was thinking of writing a romance pairing, Shalltear x Climb. I mean, imagine it, Climb, who still has some morality in him but is still dejected enough at the world to have a more warped idea of morality and is influenced by his peers, with his interacting with Shalltea, twist his and her personalities? Imagine how they will twist each other's personalities would be interesting.

What about a scenario where it is an outside character seeing through Ainz's action, and in doing so, realizes that he is being stupid, then it cuts into Ainz's mind and he actually thinks he is being clever. Ainz tries to actually be smart, but everyone thinks he is being an idiot, and he actually is being stupid. I think that would be a funny juxtaposition where, instead of people misunderstanding his action as being smart while he is not trying to be smart, they instead think he is being dumb while he thinks he is being smart. Another scenario I was thinking about for comity, we could go a full Steve Lichman and have an undead overlord (that is not Ainz but is also a player from Yggdrasil), and now there is just an unlikable overlord running around E-restys, how is playing with the adventure guild and being a classic Saturday villain. Whenever he does get close to killing the adversaries that are fighting him, he heals them, then does the "ehehehehe" before running away. Basically, this develops into the entire adventure guild basically seeing him as a non-threat that they just fight for fun and experience because he helps them level up and gives them free magical equipment he makes. I could see the adventure guild stop actually trying to kill him and instead just have fun with him, or even make him an official member of the adventure guild, and if somebody actually tries to kill him, then the entire adventure guild immediately becomes hostile to that person. Also, he had fought Zeeshi and beat her and let her live, and now she keeps coming back and trying to do very suspect things with him, so he runs away from her, and we get the comedic scene of a girl chasing down a guy.

Considering which on is in the lead, does the new world perspective focus on characters in TWTS or main canon?

Does the new world character have to be an established one from canon?

For the New World POV, does it require to be in first person? Or is third person okay, so long as the NW character is the central/ they’re present for all scenes
