There's a lot I want to cover from this gen, but this for me was such a standout track. Something I do that's probably very weird to some, is I really like listening to a game's soundtrack before playing it. I love to hear the music first so that when a song I really liked in the initial listen comes on, I'm extra hyped. It's a feeling that's really hard to top doing it the other way around. I was working on some super secret upcoming project this past week while waiting for the game to drop and this song came on and stuck to my brain like Brock on a red-blooded human female. I tuned down to Drop G on the 7-string for this one, but really tried to match the octaves of the melody as best as I could. It took some interesting bends to hit some of the high Fs and F#s and sometimes I admit it was sounding like a dog whistle at times, but I think it really helped the melody stand out from everything else going on. I used a bunch of synths and electric drums in conjunction with my usual instruments, so it was really hard to get a clear mix on this one.
