Chapter 4

(1 Year After Arriving)

“Aaah~ Nothing feels better than a good bowl of Ramen after a day of success.” Kushina said with a satisfied tone.

“A bowl? That’s your sixth one already.” Izumi replied with a deadpan.

Looking up from my own finished bowl of ramen, I shook my head in amusement at the back and forth between Izumi and Kushina already accustomed to their small arguments. My gaze then raised to their foreheads where a brand-new Forehead Protector could be seen, matching the one I was wearing on my own forehead.

Just this morning we had been officially promoted to the rank of Genin and assigned a Jonin team leader. Who that Jonin was, we had no clue as they would only be announced a week from now back at the Academy.

A full year had passed since I arrived in this world and in that time my strength had grown by leaps and bounds.

I had managed to master all 3 of my Chakra affinities (Fire, Water, Earth) along with growing my Hashirama TS to tier6 after mastering everything but the jutsu that required Sage Chakra. I had a feeling that learning and mastering Sage Mode would allow me to finally reach Hashirama’s level but for that I needed to find and sign a Summoning Contract which was no easy feat as they were super rare to come by.

With my early promotion to Genin I had also completed a mission objective and received an additional two affinities to pick from and I had decided to finish the set by picking Wind and Lightning. Even now about a thousand wood clones were back home in my Demiplane mastering my new affinities.

Next when it came to hand-to-hand combat or Taijutsu, with the help of my Sharingan, Izumi and thanks to the powerful body I gained thanks to the Hashirama TS, I was all but an unstoppable juggernaut. My natural strength had grown to the point where I could reduce a building to rubble and that was without augmenting myself with chakra. Add Taijutsu to the mix and that was just a deadly combo.

My Genjutsu was actually the weakest out of all the shinobi arts. I didn’t really see a point in mastering too many jutsu for it due to having a Sharingan and being able to cast Tsukuyomi which was one of the most powerful Genjutsu in this world.

Thanks to Rimuru, I also had a very good grasp on weapons already mainly with a katana which I had taken to carrying on my back just like the original Rimuru. In fact, the katana was the same one Rimuru had worn when he fought the Orc Disaster Geld. It had been in my inventory along with a bunch of other weapons from Satou’s TS.

Finally, the last art I had trained so far was Fuinjutsu. With the help of Kushina, thanks to the mission rewards and Satou’s TS making me a freaking super genius at them same as Ninjutsu, I could say with certainty that I had mastered the art.

It was crazy how strong you could become in this world by abusing the shit out of the clone training method without suffering any drawbacks and having a powerful regeneration. I had of course shared this training method with Izumi and Kushina with them just using shadow clones instead of my wood clones and they had spent about a year training like that.

Heck the only reason Izumi and Kushina were still considered t5 was because of their age. Once they turned fifteen that would change with them having a stronger and bigger body to properly channel all their strength.

I fortunately didn’t share that problem being a Slime and all much to their jealousy.

Talking about me being a Slime though, Kushina and Izumi had finally found out about it and let’s just say that that’s when they started arguing with each other. Their arguments only got worse when they found out that I made a fantastic body pillow and now I would be forced to remain in my Slime form when we went to bed.

It was honestly embarrassing as all hell and I just wanted them to grow up already but I could never say no to either of them when they asked me.

Moving on.

The only other significant thing that had happened in this time was me buying another TS. After discussing it in great detail with the girls and Great Sage aka my future adorable Ciel, I had chosen the power of Extra-Dimensional Energy Manipulation or in simpler terms Matter and Energy Manipulation.

The power was in a word…Limitless.

An important thing you have to understand about energy and matter.

They existed literally everywhere. Everything that had mass would be mine to mold and control as I wish in the future and the same went for all forms of energy which Chakra was obviously included.

In the far, far future I could even become a mini Molecule Man from the Marvel comics though like I said that was far into the future.

With my new ability I had slowly but surely augmented my biology and strengthened everything about me. Speed, reflexes, muscle mass, natural regeneration, hardening my skin to become as hard as steel and strengthening all my organs that I had regained thanks to Anthropize.

The new TS was the reason I was now able to punch buildings to rubble and lift about 100 tons with ease without augmenting my body further with magic or chakra. I had not yet tried to see what I was capable when I augmented myself further but I bet it was crazy. And while the thought of doing the same for the girls had crossed my mind, I decided to wait until their body had matured properly to be on the safe side.

Though even with all this power at my disposal I still felt I was too weak to face the true threats of this world. Namely the Otsutsuki and Madara at full power. If I wanted to complete the mission for the total eradication of those leeches then I needed to be at least a t10 being which would cost me 900 credits.

‘Though I could save 400 credits if I’m willing to murder and devour 10,000 souls. Something that while possible with my current power, is risky as I would first have to find 10,000 people that the other ninja villages won’t notice suddenly vanishing.’ I thought in contemplation before dismissing the thought away and focusing on the girls again finding them still arguing.

“How can you even eat that much Ramen? Don’t you know it’s unhealthy for you?” Izumi asked with a small scowl.

“We’re ninja, we can burn this off no problem.” Kushina shrugged carelessly. “Even back when I lived with mom, I never seemed to gain any weight anyways.”

Izumi suddenly looked down at Kushina’s already developing breasts before looking down at her own much smaller chest. “Tsk, that’s because all the fat is going into your chest.” She accused with a small glare.

“H-hey. They’re not fat! Right Akari?” Kushina said covering up her developing breasts in embarrassment before looking at me for reassurance.

Suddenly gaining both of the girl’s attention I sweated nervously as no matter what I said one of them would end up getting angry at me which was not good for my continued health. “Umm…”

Wracking my brain for an idea to get me out of this mess, I blurted out the first thing that popped into my mind. “I have a present for you two! You know for working so hard this past year.”

Izumi and Kushina’s face suddenly glowed in happiness as they quickly forgot what they were arguing about and looked at me with an expectant expression.

“You got me a present? Ooh, what is it? What is it?” Kushina asked impatiently hoping down from her seat and coming up to me and shaking my shoulder with a giant smile on her face.

“You mean what did he get us.” Izumi corrected offhandedly but looking no less excited than the redhead.

“How about we go somewhere else? I think we’ve bothered Teuchi-san enough for today.” I asked looking at the ramen chef with an apologetic smile.

“Hahaha don’t worry you three. If I’m being honest, you three brighten me and my daughter’s day every time you come here.” Teuchi dismissed my worries with a wave of his hand.

Now looking embarrassed Kushina and Izumi quietly muttered a small apology before we finally left the Ramen stand and I lead us back home to the living room. Turning around to face the girls I motioned for them to sit before asking them to wait for a moment.

“Alright you two just give me a moment.” I said pulling up my inventory and looking for their present all the while thanking my past self for actually doing such a thing.

Finding what I was looking for I retrieved it from my inventory and held my hands behind my back keeping it hidden a bit longer from the girls which caused them to pout cutely.

“If I’m being honest, I actually got you two presents. One practical and one not. First for the practical.” I said pulling one hand from behind my back and showing them what I had in them.

“Hmm earrings? They are very pretty but you said this was practical?” Izumi asked with a curious look on her face as she picked up a pair and looked at them more closely.

It was a pair of matching silver amethyst earrings that matched Izumi’s color scheme with Kushina receiving the same just with the stone being emerald.

“Correct.” I said with a nod of my head seeing as the girls slowly put them on and began explaining their purpose.

“You see with my new TS I was able to engrave my jutsu-shiki into them allowing me to use them as markers for my Hiraishin.” I explained with a smile forming on my face at seeing their shocked reactions, especially Kushina’s who specialized in Fuinjutsu.

“You actually managed to make the formula small enough to fit in these?” Kushina asked with an excited smile on her face as she rapidly took one off and started examining it letting out a gasp when she found it. “Wow~ You really did. Amazing~”

Letting them examine the earrings a bit longer I then let out a cough bringing their attention back to me.

“I want you to promise me to wear these at all times when you’re out of the village.” I pleaded with a serious face and tone.

Seeing my reaction, the girls straightened up and gave me their answer as one. “We promise.”

I let out a sigh in relief at hearing that. One of the main fears I had been dreading this past year was something happening to the girls while I was away doing something else and not being able to get to them on time. With this I now at least had the ability to get to them instantly if I ever sensed their vitals dropping with another hidden seal I had placed in the earrings.

“Right, now for your second present.” I said getting them to lose their serious face and smile happily again. ‘Just as they always should be.’ I thought privately before bringing my other hand forward and turning to Kushina first.

“Here Kushina this is for you. I hope you like it.” I said presenting her a black hairclip. Since Kushina was not wearing any hair accessories at the moment, I thought it would be appropriate if I got her one as she was always seen with one from what I remember.

“T-thank you Akari.” With a small blush coloring her cheeks, Kushina gently took the hairclip from my hand and immediately put it on.

“H-how do I look?” Kushina asked looking at me shily with her head slightly turned to the side and nervously playing with one of her bangs.

“It looks great on you Kushina. It helps bring out your pretty eyes.” I said honestly with a smile keeping my reply simple since I still felt uncomfortable flirting with a 9-year-old.

When they finally turned 14 or 15 though that would change but for now small complements like these would have to do.

“I-is t-that so?” Kushina said with her face turning a bright red and a small smile growing on her lips before she hid her face from me by looking down at the floor.

Not commenting at what she said, I finally turned to Izumi who had watched our entire interaction and currently had a small pout on her face.

“Here Izumi. I also got one for you.” I said extending my hand towards the girl.

Blinking in curiosity, Izumi lifted the item from my hand and held it in front of her face examining it closely. Like Kushina, I had also gotten her a hairclip only purple this time.

“Since you both curiously have the same hairstyle, I thought it might help keeping your hair out of your eyes while out and about.” I explained my reason for the gifts while scratching my cheek nervously.

“Thank you Akari. That was really thoughtful of you.” Izumi finally responded offering me a small smile before putting it on the opposite side of where Kushina had. “How do I look?” She asked looking at me closely.

“You look great.” I said with a smile giving her the same complement as Kushina. “Now I can properly look at your pretty face.”

The smile on Izumi’s face widened with a small blush growing on her face. “Thank you.”

“You’re both welcome.” I said closing my eyes and letting out a small sigh of relief glad that they both seemed to enjoy my gifts.

Frowning in confusion at suddenly feeling something wet on my cheeks, I opened my eyes only to widen them at what I saw. Kushina and Izumi were on each side of me standing on their tiptoes with each of them kissing one of my cheeks.

Blushing in embarrassment I stood frozen in place as the girls finally pulled away with red faces but each with a smile on their face before they suddenly muttered a final ‘thanks’ and bolted out the back door.

“Wow.” I whispered quietly into the empty room before shaking my head and smiling in amusement.

‘While I expected this from Izumi with her already being 11, Kushina sure took me by surprise seeing as she’s the same age as me. Guess she just didn’t want to be left behind.’ I thought with a small chuckle.

‘At least I now know both of them see me as more than just a friend.’
