Chapter 9

(2 Years Later)

“Ring! Ring! Ring!”

I sleepily opened an eye at hearing a loud ringing noise coming from somewhere. Still groggy, it took me a moment to realize that it was actually the seal I had made and installed to the wards around the Senju Compound to let me know when somebody was at the door.

Hearing it ring again, I felt movement to my sides as a head of red and black hair suddenly snuggled deeper into my embrace in an attempt to block the noise.

“Ugh, make the noise go away ttebane.”

“Akari, it’s your turn to get the door…”

“Haah, if you want me to get the door, you’re going to have to let go of me first.” I said finally feeling awake now and looking at the two girls snuggled to my side in amusement.

“Tsk, the village better be burning or something for waking us up at this hour.” Kushina groused with a pout before reluctantly pulling her hands away from me and turning with a cute huff.

“Hah, might as well go see who it is Akari. If they’re this persistent, it’s probably something important.” Izumi said more calmly while also pulling her arms off of me.

“Yeah…” I agreed quietly before disappearing in a blue flash from the bed and appearing just in front of it already dressed.

Before leaving the room, I glanced back at the bed and couldn’t help but smile at the forms of Izumi and Kushina. Both of them had already gone back to asleep again with Kushina even letting out cute snores.

‘Those two sure have grown in these two years. Especially Izumi.’ I thought silently.

Kushina who was now 13 like myself, looked more like a girl at 15 with all the curves and figure to go along with it. Her face had lost all of her baby fat with her beautiful red hair now coming down to her thighs. I could say with certainty that she was now truly one of the most beautiful girls in the village no doubt thanks to her genes and Body Tune-Up.

Izumi on the other hand now looked on the verge of adult hood appearing more like a girl of 17 instead of 15. Her figure had also managed to mature wonderfully now having an amazing set of curves and much to her secret joy, her breasts were now almost a D cup. Though to her hidden jealousy, Kushina still beat her in that department.

Unknown to Izumi though, I thought she had the better ass between the two though it was a close thing as Kushina was still young. Curiously they were the same height at 160cm already making them pretty tall for the standards of this world.

Ever since Kushina’s attempted kidnapping, they had taken to sleeping beside me. Other than a few kisses and some gropes, nothing had really happened between any of us though I could tell that Izumi was close to being ready as her kisses had gotten steamier as time passed.

Shaking my head at such thoughts, I finally headed to the door enjoying my latest growth spurt. I was had shot up to a whopping 175cm making me just a bit shorter than Kakashi and I knew that I still had plenty more to grow. At this rate I would probably stop growing at 196cm based on my estimation which felt rather good as it was 14cm taller than my first life.

Reaching the gates to the Compound I finally opened and was met with a purple-haired Anbu who I had gone on a few missions with at the orders of the Hokage and who I had trained in the art of the sword with.

“What can I do for you at this early hour Yugao?” I asked curiously to the cat masked Anbu who twitched almost imperceptibly at what I called her.

“It’s Cat while I’m on duty, you know this.” Yugao lightly reprimanded me thought there was no heat behind her words.

“Hmhm my bad. It’s just a little hard to call you that when I can tell who you are at a glance due to your hair.” I said teasing her a little looking pointedly at her striking purple hair, something that was rare in this village.

“T-that’s beside the point. Besides, you’re cheating anyways thanks to your Sharingan.” Getting a little flustered, Yugao attempted to deflect.

Now you might be wondering, why is Yugao, who is supposed to be a professional assassin who is trained to always keep her emotions in check, acting this way? Well, that was actually rather simple and went back to the night of the massacre.

Yugao had been the one who had found me and Izumi before the Hokage and took us to the hospital. Later when I became a Jonin, at the orders of the Hokage in some sort of hidden test no doubt, I had been partnered with her for a few missions. Recognizing her, I had thanked her for her help much to her surprise as she was not dressed at an Anbu at the time.

From there I had taken the first opportunity presented to me before Stamping her and the rest is history. From what I knew, she was not dating Hayate here though they were still friends and was in fact single. A fact that I would always bring up to her at every opportunity much to her annoyance.

“You call it cheating. I call it being smart.” I said with a shrug before looking at her curiously. “So, based on the fact that you have not said anything about why you’re here yet, can I take that to mean that it’s not urgent?” I finally asked bringing the conversation back on track.

“Ahem, correct. Hokage-sama wishes to see you as soon as possible though he said that it was not immediately urgent.” Yugao said going back to her stoic voice.

“Do you have any idea on what’s this about?” I asked with a raised eyebrow only to get a shake of the head from her.

“You know that I can’t reveal that Akari even if I knew the reason.”

“Fair enough. Well since I’m already awake, let’s see what the old man wants. Put your hand on my shoulder will you.?” I said sensing the closest marker to the Hokage Tower.

“Uugh. If I must…” Yugao slumped a little in place at that as she reluctantly did as I asked. “At least I haven’t eaten anything yet.”

That was the last thing Yugao muttered before we both disappeared in a blue flash and reappeared just outside of the Hokage’s office.

“Uugh, I still don’t understand how you and Yondaime-sama could use this jutsu without puking every time.” Yugao muttered with a hand on her stomach.

“Practice.” I said simply before stepping forward and lightly knocking on the door.

“Enter.” Came the immediate reply.

“Well, see you around Y-ahem Cat.” I said sending a teasing wink Yugao’s way only getting a grunt in agreement as she still seemed a moment away from puking.

Entering I felt my eyes widening for a fraction of a second before they returned to normal and I resumed my walk to the front of his desk noticing that I had the eyes of not only the Hokage but someone else as well.

“Ah, there he is now. Mei-dono, allow me to introduce you to my latest pupil. Senju-”

Hiruzen was interrupted in the middle of his introduction by who I now know for certain was the future Mizukage, Mei Terumi.

“Akari. Senju Akari. Even back in Kiri, with our current circumstances, your name is well known by many. My, my but I never would have guessed that you would be so handsome~” Mei said looking at me up and down without an ounce of shame.

Normally I would have felt flattered at her complement and said something back to the beautiful redhead. Unfortunately, I was doing everything I could not to glare at the old man who was currently giggling with a perverted smile and a small flush on his face.

“A pleasure to meet you Mei-dono.” I said before mentally saying ‘to hell with it’ and took her right hand gently and gave her a small kiss on her knuckles much to her joy going by the pleased smile on her face.

“Oh my~ How forward~” Mei said with a swoon as she brought one of her hands to her cheek and looked at me with hooded eyes.

“Ahem, assuming the presence of Mei-dono here, am I correct to assume that the reason I’m here has something to do with the current civil war in Kiri and more specifically the Mizukage?” I asked trying to get back on track as while I would love to chat with the Christmas Cake next to me, the presence of the old perverted fool ruined that.

Mei suddenly took on a serious expression as her coy and seductive look disappeared. “Well informed too it seems.” She muttered silently appraising me once again with new eyes.

“Correct. Akari, Mei-dono here wants to hire you for an S-rank mission due to your particular abilities.” Hiruzen said also taking on a more serious look now.

‘This is definitely different. Did my existence as the second user of the Mokuton persuade the rebels to take a risk and ask Konoha for aid with their civil war? Hah, whatever. This actually works in my favor.’ I thought silently.

Pretending to think on it for a moment I turned to Mei who was giving me a curious look now and opened my mouth. “You want me to kill the Mizukage.” I said matter of factly.

“Do you think you can?” Mei asked in return with a raised eyebrow.

Looking at the Hokage from the corner of my eyes, I saw him nod slightly silently telling me it was alright to reveal my current strength.

“No problem.” I said casually with a shrug getting a wide-eyed look from Mei.

“T-that’s rather ar-bold of you to sat that. Yagura is a perfect Jinchuuriki, he has full control of the three tails you know?” Mei said incredulously almost calling me arrogant by accident.

“I know.” I said with a nod with my expression not changing. “It won’t change anything.”

“Ho-”

“Mei-dono,” Hiruzen interrupted whatever Mei was about to say bringing our attention back to him. “I can assure you that there were no lies spoken by my student.” He said seriously.

“A-as you say Hokage-dono. Forgive me for my slight just now.” Mei said looking a little chastised and offering us a small bow of her head.

“Think nothing of it.” Hiruzen dismissed with a wave of his hand before looking at me seriously. “The decision to take this mission and help them is up to you Akari. That’s why I brought you here.”

I stayed silent for a moment and pretended to give it some thought even though my mind was already made up before turning to Mei. The redhead was looking at me with a mostly blank look on her face awaiting my response.

Except her eyes that is.

Her eyes were all but pleading at me to help her and her people.

I finally extended my hand towards the woman who looked at it curiously for a second before looking up at me and blinking when she found me with a smile on my face.

“Looks like we’re going to be working together for a bit Mei-dono. I’ll be in your care.”

“Y-yes!” Mei rapidly took my hand in a firm grip a radiant smile now on her face. “I’m- ahem we’re happy to have you Akari-san. Thank you for accepting!”

“Excellent. Akari, you will be leaving immediately. You have half an hour to pack.” Hiruzen said grabbing our attention again. “In the meantime, Mei-dono and myself will finalize any final details.

“Very well.” I said with a serious nod before excusing myself and walking out the door and teleporting back home once I was out of sight.

“They won’t be happy to hear this.” I muttered nervously pausing for a moment at the front door knowing what awaited me inside.

They weren’t happy.

Especially when they found out I would be traveling alone with a beautiful woman who had personally requested me for the mission. A woman who was comically arguing with two teens at the moment in front of the entrance to the village making everyone look at her with deadpan eyes due to the topic of conversation.

“You make sure to stay away from Akari, you hear that you old hag?”

“What did you say, you little twirp?”

“Don’t you see Kushina? She just can’t help herself since this Christmas Cake is on the verge of expiring.”

I let out a small wince at that particular line knowing Izumi could be particularly vicious when she wanted to be.

“…What did you just call me?” Mei asked with a deadly whisper while a fiery aura surrounded her.

Taking that as my cue to step in, I threw the Hokage one last look full of annoyance as the man was currently giggling to himself with clearly no intention to intervene.

“Alright girls that’s enough.”

“But Akari! This hag is clearly a pedophile!” Kushina tried to say feebly while throwing the other redhead a glare that was gladly returned.

“Indeed. You can tell in the way she looks at you.” Izumi backed up also throwing a glare Mei’s way.

Seeing that I was going nowhere with this conversation I suddenly pulled Izumi and Kushina into an embrace taking them by surprise.

“Take care girls and remember to let me know if there’s any trouble with the kunai, I gave you alright?” I asked them in a low whisper making sure that only they heard me.

“Come back soon.” Kushina whispered in return quickly getting over my sudden hug and hugged me tightly in return.

“Be careful.” Izumi said also pulling me into a hug.

Stepping away from the girls I took one final look at them and offered them a smile trying to ignore how Kushina looked on the verge of crying and Izumi was not far behind her.

“Shall we get a move on Mei-san?” I asked finally turning to the adult redhead who had watched our interaction with jealousy in her eyes.

“We shall.” Mei responded simply and in a move that surprised me hugged one of my arms between her breasts while giving me a coy look. “It’s only proper for a gentleman to escort a lady, right?”

I could only look at her with a blank look on my face as I felt two murderous auras spike behind me all directed at the woman beside me.

‘She totally did that on purpose.’ I thought looking at the small smug smirk that grew on her face when she felt the killing intent aimed at her.

Oh, this Christmas Cake was going to get it later if Kushina and Izumi blamed me for what happened just now.

Wanting to get away before a bloodbath started, I silently teleported us to the nearest marker towards the Land of Water and we disappeared in a blue flash.

It was time for me to confront a Jinchuuriki.
