Chapter 26

(A Day Later)

Even though I wanted nothing more than to hunt down Toneri and rip out Hanabi’s eyes from his eye sockets before kicking his ass and selling him, I was unfortunately occupied with other matters.

“Akari Senju, we have many questions that need answering and based on many reports, you seem to have all the answers.”

Looking across at the forms of Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane, the last two members of the Konoha Council, I resisted the urge to smirk at the tattoo I could see on the back of their hand.

‘Nice to confirm that Hikari was able to do what I asked of her.’ I thought in satisfaction recalling the task I had given to Hikari before the war.

Just like Hiruzen and Danzo, these two were also responsible for the death of the Uchiha Clan meaning that they had to go. I had ordered Hikari to track them down during all the confusion and stamp them before erasing the memory of their encounter with her Mangekyō.

The only reason they were still around right now was that they were still useful to handle the aftermath of the war and the fact that 3 days had not passed yet since their capture.

“Ask then.” I said calmly reclining back in the sofa I was currently sitting on in a private room located in the Hokage Tower.

“First of all, what happened to the Kazekage and his children?” Homura asked.

“I killed Rasa and his children are currently unconscious back home under the guard of a couple of my clones.”

Hearing that both of them closed their eyes and let out a tired sigh.

“So, he’s dead then. This will make the negotiations with Suna more complicated but what’s done is done. What we should focus on right now is installing a new Hokage.” Koharu said looking at me with a pointed look.

“Aren’t I too young?” I asked with a raised eyebrow knowing this was coming. “What about Jiraiya?”

“You are old enough not to mention you were already being groomed for the position by Hiruzen anyway and the village and shinobi respect you. Jiraiya while a possible candidate is now needed more than ever for his talents in gathering intel.” Homura said with a shake of his head turning down my idea immediately.

“With the death of both Hiruzen and possible Danzo, we need Jiraiya out on the field to know how the other countries will respond.” Koharu continued.

“What about Tsunade?” I persisted still not wanting to accept such a job.

“Tsunade-hime? Hmm not a bad choice but currently impossible when she’s not even living in the village.” Koharu said with a thoughtful look turning to Homura for a moment before focusing on me again.

“What if I were to bring her back?” I asked with a smile while leaning forward in my seat with a confident look on my face.

‘Well ‘Aunty’, seems you can’t keep avoiding me any longer.’ I thought in relief knowing I had convinced them going by the contemplative look on their face.

=====

(Several Hours Later)

It hadn’t worked.

‘Those fucking old bastards!’

While they had agreed that Tsunade was the most capable for the position due to my young age, they had ordered me to stay in the village being the strongest Shinobi currently while they would send Jiraiya and Naruto to search for her like in canon.

To make it worse, I would be installed as interim Hokage in the meantime and if Jiraiya and Naruto failed then I would be instated fully to the position thus my current bad mood.

The only good thing that had come out of that meeting was that I had completed a mission objective of the Uchiha’s Resurgence mission. I could now absorb Chakra, permanently enlarging my reserves and output by the amount absorbed which while useful was kind of meh due to my already gargantuan reserves.

Now I found myself walking back home accompanied by Yugao and three more Anbu who would be taking the body of the dead Kazekage and taking custody of his children and then probably sending them back to Suna.

Upon arriving, I bid the Anbu to come in the Compound before asking them to wait in the living room while I retrieved the dead Kazekage and his children.

Once I was out sight, I teleported myself to the dungeons located underground that could only be reached by having access to either Hiraishin or Kamui. Well, that or a skill like my new Spacetime Domination allowing one complete control of the elements of space and time.

Since I had already planned this in advance as soon as I teleported to the underground cells, I opened my Hud and with the press of a button a body fell to the ground. Just like I had done previously with the Hokage, I had made a body matching Rasa’s exact chakra signature and looks.

As to the how, well that was actually rather simple. I just bought a company clone of White Zetzu before devouring him with Rimuru’s powers gaining his abilities. Then using Rimuru’s power and with the help of the then Great Sage, we had discovered that I could now make ‘empty’ wood clones for a lack of a better word and give them the appearance and chakra signature of anyone I had come in physical contact with before.

With that done I opened my inventory again with the press of a button I released the unconscious forms of the sand siblings.

Turning to Gaara first I cancelled the Genjutsu he was currently under making him snap his eyes open in shock and look around frantically at his surroundings before he froze when he caught sight of me.

“Hello Gaara, I trust you remember our chat from earlier?” I asked calmly with a raised eyebrow.

Flinching at my words, he let out a sigh a moment later relaxing his tense shoulders before slowly getting up to his feet noticing his siblings lying next to him and the body of his dead father but not saying anything about it. “So that was not a dream…Very well I will comply with your request as long as you keep your end of the deal as well.”

“That’s good to hear.” I said with a smile and a clap of my hands.

Now what deal might he be referring to you ask?

Yesterday after resurrecting Hanabi, I had immediately got to work catching up with everything I had missed and had a chat with Gaara after he managed to calm down when he figured out, I wasn’t going to kill him.

Basically, I made a deal with Gaara that in return for keeping the fact that he was no longer a Jinchuuriki a secret from everyone, I wouldn’t kill him and his siblings and wouldn’t retaliate against Suna anymore for their actions.

It was an empty threat of course as I actually liked Gaara quite a bit as a character but I wanted to keep Akatsuki oblivious for a while longer.

He had accepted, looking shocked at still being alive despite no longer being a Jinchuuriki and at the same time relieved at no longer having to carry such a burden.

“What will you do with the One Tail?” Gaara asked curiously as he used his sand to make a makeshift bed to carry his siblings.

“Not to worry. I can promise you this. The Tailed Beasts will never again be used as a deterrent for warfare by anyone.” I said with a wave of dismissal catching the way he slightly narrowed his eyes at my specific wording but not saying anything.

“Now come along, the Anbu are waiting for us upstairs where you will be escorted and then probably released back to Suna after some questions.” I said gesturing him to get closer as I nonchalantly leaned down and picked up the body of ‘Rasa’ and slung it over my shoulder.

Heeding my request, he got closer and I laid a hand on his shoulder before teleporting us to the living room to the slight surprise of the Anbu accompanying Yugao.

“Here they are.” I said turning to Yugao and handing her the body.

“Very well. Come, let’s go.” Yugao said with a nod taking the body from my hands as her companions surrounded the Sand Siblings and escorted them out of my home.

“Don’t be a stranger Yu-Cat~” I waved cheerily at Yugao almost saying her name on purpose making her twitch for a moment before continuing on as if she hadn’t heard me.

When they finally left the property, I felt someone approach but said nothing already knowing who it was before a voluptuous body hugged me from behind.

“Now that we’re finally alone Akari-kun, do you mind explaining to me what the hell’s going on?” Mei whispered in my ear sweetly not hiding the annoyance in her voice.

“Of course, Mei. Thanks for being so patient with me.” I responded calmly with a nod turning around in her embrace and pulling her in for a small kiss that she was glad to reciprocate. “How about we move somewhere else for this discussion?”

“Lead the way.” Mei replied with a smile now looking much calmer than before.

Going up to the nearest solid surface, I placed my hand on it opening up a portal to my Demiplane to the surprise of Mei who was now looking at the rift curiously.

“Is this one of the things you will be explaining?” Mei asked, turning to me with a raised eyebrow but already walking towards the portal anyways.

“Of course.”

Without further ado we made our way inside the portal where a long chat awaited us.

=====

(One Long Conversation Later)

I had come clean with Mei about everything.

About the Company, my reincarnation, my powers and finally my ability to travel to different worlds.

“That’s…a lot to take in.” Mei said leaning back against one of the many sofas in the living room looking deep in thought.

“Take your time.” I offered gently with a patient smile as I sat in front of her in a one-seater.

After a couple of minutes of processing everything I had told her Mei finally looked at me again with a serious look on her face.

“Are your feelings for me even real or am I just another ‘target’ for you?”

Wincing at the feelings of despair and sadness coming from Mei, I got up from my seat and kneeled in front of her before grabbing one of her hands with my own glad that she didn’t immediately pull away.

“Of course, they’re real.” I said gently before concentrating and sharing my thoughts and feelings with Mei much like Naruto had done with the Shinobi Alliance during the war causing Mei to gasp in surprise.

“T-this…Is this coming from you?” Mei asked with teary eyes now looking at me in wonder and embarrassment at getting to feel my raw emotions for herself.

“Yes.” I nodded my head gently never breaking eye contact.

“Akari…Sorry for doubting you.” Mei apologized with a small sniffle before wiping her eyes with her free hand and looking at me once more. “Just one final question. What are you planning to do with this world?”

“I have 3 objectives I’m currently working on. The first is releasing the Biju from under the control of the Hidden Villages. The second is getting rid of the Akatsuki and Otsutsuki from the world.” I explained briefly causing Mei to widen her eyes as if just realizing something.

“The Three Tails, it didn’t die with Kagura did it? You took it.”

“Correct. I’m currently the Jinchuuriki of the One, Three and Nine Tails.” I said with a teasing smile.

“All three?” Mei asked in shock before shaking her head. “I guess you weren’t kidding when you said weren’t human. And the last objective?”

“For the last objective, I want to…” I revealed to Mei my last objective causing her to once more go into shock before she asked me to explain in more detail.

Several minutes later after doing as she requested, Mei let out a sigh before pulling me up for a kiss that lasted several minutes.

“Alright…I believe you and while I’m still not 100% sure on your last objective I will support you nonetheless. That’s the least I can do as your woman.” Mei finished offering me a tender smile when she said the last part.

“Thank you, Mei.” I thanked her relieved that she had not been against my plan as it would pain me if she stood against me.

“Now, I do believe you owe me a date mister~” Mei said being all smiles again.

“Hahaha of course.”

“By the way, I just heard the news. I believe congratulations are in order for being nominated as the next possible Hokage.”

“Tsk.”

=====

(Several Days Later)

The past couple of days had been a whirlwind of activity in the village with repairs, handling the aftermath of the battle and keeping the fact that I had revived Hanabi a secret from everyone for the time being.

I wanted to first recover Hanabi’s eyes from Toneri before that secret became known so I had asked Hiashi and Hinata to keep it a secret for now and they had agreed. Though they had asked me if she could stay at my home since it wouldn’t take long before a clan known for their all-seeing eye to take notice of the fact.

Agreeing to the request Hanabi had temporarily moved in with us where she was always under the watch of one of my clones since she was still blind. While I could make new eyes for her, I wanted to use this opportunity to give Hanabi a power up in the form of the Tenseigan.

When I finally got my hands on the Toneri, I would have Ciel analyze them before they were destroyed and then make Hanabi her own pair.

Unfortunately, that would have to wait a bit longer as the reason I hadn’t left yet had just made themselves known and I was currently on my way to confront them.

=====

Arriving at the location via Hiraishin I immediately took in what was happening seeing the forms of Asuma, Kurenai, Kakashi, Itachi and Kisame in a standoff.

My arrival was immediately noticed with Kurenai and Kakashi visibly relaxing a bit and Itachi and Kisame tensing in surprise.

“Yo, Itachi. Long time no see.” I greeted calmly with my Sharingan already active staring at Itachi’s own with the man not being able to hide the worry he felt even if he showed no expression on his face.

“Haah nice of you to make it Akari.” Kakashi greeted standing a bit behind me with his Sharingan uncovered.

“Nice, with Akari-kun here there shouldn’t be anything to worry about anymore.” Kurenai said in relief with Asuma clicking his tongue in annoyance but not saying anything.

“Well, well, well. If it isn’t the kid everyone is talking about nowadays. Akari Senju.” Kisame said with a small laugh before looking down at his sword as it started wriggling inside its bandages. “Samehada here appears to be going crazy at just the feel of his chakra alone.”

“Kisame! We’re leaving, now.” Itachi suddenly ordered with his gaze never leaving mine.

“Hoh, do you think you’re strong enough to get away?” I asked with a teasing smile on my face then before anyone could react, I appeared in front of Kisame and drove a Rasengan on his chest blasting him away.

“Ghhaaaaaaa!” Kisame screamed in agony as he was launched towards the tree line before disappearing with a small explosion heard afterwards.

Feeling an attack coming from behind I instantly teleported next to Kakashi again since he was still carrying my marker, avoiding the flames of Amaterasu that had been released by Itachi.

“Amaterasu right off the bat huh? Seems this time around you’re finally taking me seriously.” I commented with a smirk on my face watching Itachi’s slightly bleeding right eye.

=====

(Itachi POV)

‘Fast!’ That was all Itachi could think about after seeing the way Kisame was dispatched in an instant with his Sharingan practically useless since it hadn’t been able to track Akari Senju’s movements.

Seeing no other choice in the matter he had activated Amaterasu with the hope of injuring the teen before making a retreat only to silently curse when that failed too.

‘It seems it was a mistake coming here after all. To think he would actually be this strong.’ Itachi though, silently staring at the teen who didn’t seem concerned about the battle at all.

More worrying however was the ominous feeling he felt the instant the teen had arrived. A feeling that had not decreased at all and had only increased the longer he stared at him.

It was as if he was standing before a giant and at any moment his life could come to an end. With his Sharingan he could tell it was not any type of technique or Genjutsu which only meant that it was his instincts screaming at him to get away from here.

Even now, there was nervous sweat coming down his brow as the figure of Akari seemed to grow before his very eyes until he was nothing more than an ant looking up at something unconceivable to his mind.

Hearing the voice of the teen he was pulled out of his slight panic attack just managing to hear the end of what he said.

“It appears I may have made a mistake not killing you those years ago.” Itachi muttered quietly thinking he might have to use his Susanoo in order to escape with his life. ‘This feeling, neither Madara or Pain ever gave off this feeling.’

“Hahahaha you did but I also have to thank you.” Akari let out a derisive laugh before a mocking smirk grew on his lips. “That night you see I awakened Mokuton but what not everyone knows is that I also awakened something else.”

Finishing his speech, the tomoe on Akari’s Sharingan began to spin before merging and forming an altogether new shape causing Itachi to slightly widen his eyes in shock at seeing a pair of Mangekyō Sharingan glaring back at him.

“Mangekyō.” Itachi muttered quietly causing Akari’s smirk to grow.

“That’s right Itachi. You do remember what I promised you that night all those years ago right?” Akari asked before watching an aqua colored ribcage made of chakra grow around him with it rapidly growing in size until it resembled an armored warrior with four arms.

“Time to die.”
