Chapter 28
(Following Day)
“Sensei, what’s with all the hush hush? And why is nee-san here?” Hanabi asked curiously with her head on my shoulder as I carried her in a piggy back to the living room with Hinata following closely beside me.
Hanabi was currently wearing a blindfold over her eyes but in spite of that she still sounded pretty chipper which I was thankful that this incident hadn’t managed to dampen her spirits.
As a matter of fact, ever since she lost her eyes, I had been spoiling her perhaps a bit too much. Always bringing her food in the bed and sometimes even feeding her, carrying her everywhere she wanted to go around the house and generally just spending as much time as I could with her.
Not that I regretted it of course since I still felt partly responsible for what happened to her and wanted to make it up to her even if only a little.
“Haha don’t be so impatient, we’re almost there.” I chuckled lightly with my words proving true a moment later when we finally arrived and I gently set Hanabi down beside me. “As for why Hinata is here? Well, the truth is that I’ve got a gift for both of you.”
“Ooh~ A gift? What is it?” Hanabi asked excitedly turning her head a bit where she sensed I was.
“A g-gift? For me? You didn’t have to sensei.” Hinata said looking a little flustered as she sat on the other side of Hanabi.
“Nope, I’m not taking no for an answer.” I said with a shake of my head. “Now please close your eyes Hinata and no peeking.” I requested.
Heeding my advice, Hinata closed her eyes with Hanabi just remaining still with a small smile on her face.
Getting up from my seat, I gently removed Hanabi’s blindfold before pressing my hands just over their eyes and relaxed. ‘Ready Ciel?’
“Ready Master.”
Right after saying that, my hands glowed for a moment and I saw their eyelids twitch a few times but nonetheless they remained still. While I was doing that, I brought up my Hud and bought AP (Added Potential) of Hamura’s chakra for both girls so they would be able to handle their new power.
A moment later the process was done so I retracted my hands with a smile on my face already feeling the change in their chakra and how they had jumped in power by a tier now being considered tier6 themselves.
“Alright, open your eyes you two.” I asked them gently.
“But Sensei! Hanabi-”
Hinata’s slight protest was interrupted by Hanabi who suddenly gasped before launching herself at me and tackling me into the ground with a happy squeal.
“SENSEI! You gave me back my eyesight! I knew you would!” Hanabi rambled happily in my ear before surprising both myself and Hinata when she pulled back slightly from her embrace and kissed me on the lips.
Widening my eyes at her action I froze in place idly noticing Hinata now looking us in shock and with a blush that covered her entire face. Before I could respond to Hanabi’s kiss however, she pulled back and went back to hugging me tightly with her head resting on my chest.
Blinking at such a reaction, I let out a mental sigh a moment later and hugged the girl back. While I was fond of both sisters and even came to genuinely care for them, I wanted to wait a bit longer before I started anything with them. At least until they were fourteen.
As things were progressing however, it seems the two sisters would be joining us sooner than later.
‘Kushina and Izumi won’t be too happy especially since Mei just joined us not that long ago.’ I thought in resignation.
‘I guess it was to be expected though. Since they can’t deactivate the Tenseigan, I would have been forced to buy them the Toggle perk so they can turn on/off their new eyes at will, meaning that I will have to let them in on my secret anyway.’
When Hanabi finally settled down in her seat again, I explained to the pair their new dojutsu and what it was capable of with the girls taking in everything in I said with curious yet awe filled looks.
“Tenseigan huh? No wonder I feel much stronger than before.” Hanabi muttered while looking down at her hands in wonder.
“So, the Hyūga Clan are descendants of Hamura Otsutsuki? The Sage of Six Paths’ brother?” Hinata asked looming up at me with curious eyes.
“Correct.” I nodded my head. “And the Uchiha, Senju and Uzumaki are descendants of the Sage himself or more specifically of his two sons, Ashura and Indra. With Indra being the ancestor of the Uchiha and Ashura the ancestor of the Senju and Uzumaki.”
“I see, so that’s why you were able to awaken the Rinnegan. Because you have both bloodlines running through your veins.” Hinata said in realization.
“Good guess Hinata,” I praised the girl with a smile patting her head a bit getting an embarrassed blush from the girl before shaking my head. “Though not entirely correct.”
Seeing the confused look on her face I continued. “You see it’s not exactly the blood that’s required but the chakra. The sons of the Sage had chakra so powerful that it transmigrated through the ages with only very few individuals being capable of fully using it with the last ones being Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha.”
“Then that means both of Indra and Ashura’s chakra awakened in you, right Sensei?” Hanabi aske chiming in to the conversation.
“Correct.” I nodded my head extending my hand and also giving the girl a pat on the head much to her joy.
“How do you know all this though Sensei? I’ve never heard of any of this before and I’m still trying to grasp the fact that the Sage of Six Paths even existed not to mention that he had a brother.” Hanabi asked scratching her cheek in confusion.
“Most of it is written in a Stone Table that’s been passed down in the Uchiha Clan from ancient times that the Sage himself wrote and only decipherable with the Sharingan.” I revealed with a smile.
“Sensei, that sounds awfully like a clan secret. Are you sure it’s okay sharing that with us?” Hinata asked nervously.
“Of course, it is. Besides it’s not like I shared any meaningful secrets of the clan with you. I just shared some of our history.” I said with a wave of dismissal.
“Ok, if you say so.” Hinata nodded in acceptance looking more relaxed now.
“Anyways, enough about that. There’s one more secret I have to share with you two.”
“Hmm what is it?” Hanabi asked curiously.
“Have you noticed yet that you can’t deactivate your new eyes?” I asked summoning a mirror to my hand from my inventory and handing it to the girls.
“Now that you mention it…” Hinata muttered taking the mirror from my hand and looking at her eyes. “Yeah, even when I’m not channeling any chakra to them, my eyes haven’t returned to normal.”
“That’s correct. The Tenseigan is a dojutsu that will be permanently active from now or at least in under normal circumstances. It was actually the same for my Rinnegan.” I explained, mentally turning on my Rinnegan again with Toggle proving my point.
“How did you deactivate it then?” Hanabi asked.
“That has to do with the secret I’m about to share with you two. Now I want you two to concentrate and think of the word ‘Hud’ for me.” I encouraged the girls while silently purchasing the HUD and Toggle perk for them.
Following my instructions, the girls closed their eyes and concentrated. A moment later I saw the Hud screen appear in front of them which was only visible to me or those I considered my companions.
“Good, now open your eyes.”
Blinking their eyes open both girls blinked again when they saw the floating screen in front of them with Hanabi even flinching back a bit in surprise.
“W-whoa…What is this Sensei?” Hinata asked while reading the screen in front of her curiously and Hanabi joining her a moment later once she got over her brief shock.
“That is called a HUD, or a heads-up display. It displays all of your current abilities and even lets you mess around with some stuff.” I explained simply thinking I might have to share some of my memories with them or even better buy the Grail knowledge perk.
“How are we able to do this?” Hanabi asked curiously already looking at all her stats with a look of awe on her face.
“To put it simply. I shared some of my power with you.”
“Your power?” Both of them asked at the same time, looking at me for an explanation.
“Yes, you see-tsk damn it, talk about bad timing.” I started to explain only to stop midsentence when I felt one of my clones calling for me.
“Is something wrong Sensei?” Hanabi asked tilting her head cutely at what I said.
“Sorry girls. It seems there’s some trouble so I need to go. Don’t worry, I’ll have my buddy Ciel explain everything to you.” I apologized standing up from my seat while mentally talking to Ciel.
‘Ciel, mind taking over for me while I go deal with Orochimaru?’ I asked already making an Enhanced Body Double with it taking shape in front of me.
“Very well Master.” Ciel agreed and a moment later the body double finally formed taking the appearance of a female looking Rimuru with long blue hair, red eyes and a curvy body.
Ciel was wearing a blue and white sailor uniform with some black stockings for some reason making her look very cute in my eyes which she must have heard my thoughts going by the small blush on her face.
“Ahem, please go ahead Master. I will handle the task of explaining the powers you have gifted them.” Ciel spoke softly focusing entirely on me, not paying attention to the gob smacked looks she was getting from the twins due to her somewhat similar appearance to me.
“I’ll leave everything in your care then Ciel.” I nodded my head in thanks before turning to the girls and offering them a reassuring smile. “Just relax and Ciel will explain everything. I must really be going now, see you in a bit Hinata, Hanabi.”
Immediately after saying that, I disappeared in a blue flash.
‘Now, time for me to finally meet my GILF of an ‘Aunty’.’
=====
(Tsunade POV)
“Tsunade-sama! Snap out of it!”
Not hearing the concerned shout coming from Shizune, Tsunade continued looking down at her bloody hands in fear thinking of all the people she had failed to save, prime among them being Dan and Nawaki.
Even after finding out that she still had family had not been enough for Tsunade to rid herself of her fear that she was somehow cursed. It didn’t help matters when Sarutobi-sensei had informed her of his plan of training the last member of her family into the position of Hokage, a position that had taken the lives of many of her loved ones.
Tsunade had wanted nothing more than to take Akari out of Konoha and bring him with her on her travels but had decided against it in the end. Traveling from place to place and always running from debt collectors was not the ideal conditions to be raising a kid.
Growing up in Konoha in these peaceful times would be better for the boy than being constantly on the run with her, not to mention never having the time to make any friends his age.
Of course, Tsunade had kept tabs on the boy on occasion by sending her summon Katsuyu to Konoha and keeping an ear open for any word on the boy. It was not long before she started hearing rumors of the return of the Senju Clan and the people hailing the kid, Akari, as the new Hashirama Senju.
Something that she thought as ridiculous clearly remembering her grandfather’s monstrous strength.
That was of course until she got news that the boy had inherited her grandfather’s Mokuton years later. A letter from Sarutobi-sensei had confirmed the rumors for her and from then on, the whole world was abuzz with news about the boy and all of his accomplishments.
The biggest of them all was when news reached her that Akari had taken down the Fourth Mizukage, Yagura, someone considered a perfect junchuuriki. It was at that moment that Tsunade finally realized something.
Akari didn’t need her.
Perhaps he never did. When Tsunade had learned that, she despaired thinking that the last of her family perhaps even despised her for never checking up on him or even sending him a letter.
Following that, Tsunade learned of the attack on Konoha and the death of the Sandaime Hokage at the hands of Orochimaru and Sunagakure. Thankfully the attack had been repelled easily enough with minimum damage and only a few casualties other than the Hokage thanks to her nephew.
Word was, he had singlehandedly taken care of most of the invading forces along with driving out Orochimaru and killing the Kazekage.
Which brings her to her current situation when Orochimaru had approached her earlier looking injured and demanded she heal his arms. In return Orochimaru had promised her to bring revive her brother Nawaki and Dan with a new jutsu of his.
Wary of her former teammate but somewhat hopeful nonetheless, Tsunade asked Orochimaru to give her some time. He had refused and a battle had immediately started. The battle had started out well with Orochimaru not able to use any ninjutsu and having to rely on that four eyed accomplice of his.
That is of course until Kabuto had used her weakness against her, rendering her immobile as Shizune fought to protect her.
“Hahahaha the world renown Tsunade of the Sannin reduced to a pathetic woman who’s afraid of blood. How truly disappointing you turned out to be.”
Hearing the mocking voice of Kabuto, Tsunade managed to pull herself together for a moment and looked up spotting Kabuto standing in front of her with Shizune a few meters away on the ground looking injured.
“Shizune!” Tsunade yelled out in concern for her apprentice trying to get back on her feet only to be sent back into the ground when Kabuto backhanded her in the face.
“Hmhmhm hahahaha! Are you sure you’re even related to him? Compared to him, you’re nothing but a useless woman!” Kabuto continued to mock her looking almost angry for some reason.
“Are you talking about ‘cough’ Orochimaru? Didn’t your precious Orochimaru run away with his tail between his legs from a 14-year-old boy?” Tsunade spat back with a sneer.
Curiously, Kabuto didn’t seem offended by those words nor did he say anything to contradict her. He just gave her a knowing smirk that only served to irritate her further.
Before anything more could be said, a familiar looking kunai landed in front of her surprising Tsunade causing her to miss the look of worship that appeared on Kabuto’s face for an instant.
In the blink of an eye Kabuto was no longer standing in front of her and in his place was a teen with blue hair dressed in a black and white outfit with his back to her.
“Yo, we finally meet face to face Obachan.” The teen said turning his head sideways letting her see his golden eyes and the teasing smile he had on his lips.
