Chapter 37

“After all…We were never human to begin with~”

Nagato stayed silent at our revelation for a few moments before widening his eyes in realization and turning to Veldora.

“Dragon…You introduced yourself as a Dragon before.”

With his grin increasing in size, Veldora let out a laugh. “Kuwahaha seems you finally realized what you were dealing with. That’s right I’m none other than Veldora Tempest the Sto-gghrk”

Veldora never got to finish his introduction courtesy of Velgrynd who slapped him upside the head causing the poor dragon to bite his tongue accidentally. “How many times do you plan to introduce yourself, you moron?”

Seeing the dragon that had managed to defeat him as if it was nothing, be treated like a child must have broken something in Nagato as he gained a hollow look on his face.

“I still don’t understand what my role in all of this will be.” Nagato spoke up getting our attention much to Veldora’s relief who let out a small sigh.

“It’s simple.” I shrugged and continued from where I left off. “While I may hate this world and plan on never returning once we leave, I can’t say the same for some of my companions.”

The ones that immediately came to mind were Mei, Hinata and Hanabi since they had either friends and family here and I still wasn’t sure about Tsunade, Izumi and Kushina since I had no idea if their relatives would be moving in with us to my Demiplane.

“What I want you to do is to make sure that humanity doesn’t immediately perish after our departure from this world in some war or some other nonsense. For that I will allow you to keep your chakra and may be willing to give you the Rinnegan again in the future.”

The redhead blinked in surprise at my answer probably not expecting something so simple yet so broad. “T’that’s all?”

“No. As a final offer I’m even willing to bring back Yahiko. Wasn’t Yahiko’s dream to rule the world so there wouldn’t be anymore wars? With you two being some of the only ones still able to mold chakra, that dream can become a reality.” I threw in in the end with a small smirk not surprised when he widened his eyes at my mention of Yahiko and his dream.

“How could you possibly know that? More importantly, where does Konan fit in, in all of this?” Nagato asked looking at the still bound figure of Konan floating behind me not being able to disguise the worry in his face.

“She will be staying with us of course.” I revealed without reservation with a small grin. “You did try to kill me after all. Did you really think I was going to do this without something to keep you in line?” I finished with a raised eyebrow.

Nagato suddenly balled his hands into fists but ultimately slumped his shoulders in defeat knowing he couldn’t do anything against me let along all of us. “What if I refuse?”

“Then I just kill you and still take Konan anyways.” It is what it is. Even though I had somewhat of a soft spot for Nagato and Konan it wasn’t going to stop me from completing the mission today.

“That’s not much of a choice.” Nagato muttered in despair, his face facing the ground.

“This coming from the guy who planned on creating a bijuu weapon that would kill countless people and forcing his own idea of peace on everyone.” I threw back at him without remorse for throwing stones from his glass house.

“You even know about that? Now that I think about it, you spoke directly into our minds when you arrived. Are you capable of reading minds?” Nagato finally raised his head and looked at me with tired eyes.

“Yes, that is one of my many abilities.” With Satou’s ever increasing skills, no ability was truly blocked for me.

“Give us an answer already human! We’ve already spent more time than we originally planned with you.” Being a hothead and hating that Nagato was wasting my time due to her unwavering devotion to me, Velgrynd finally lost her patience with the man and snapped at him.

The room suddenly got about seventy degrees hotter as Velgrynd manifested her Volcanic Shroud not even worried about her close proximity with us because we were immune to such a thing with our resistances and Company defenses.

Nagato on the other hand immediately started sweating like a pig and released some of his chakra to try and counteract the change in temperature only to fail miserably.

“So, what’s it gonna be Nagato? As Velgrynd just said, we are kind of busy.” Also wanting for this meeting to be over with already, I chimed in agreement with Velgrynd.

“Haaah you speak as if I ever had a choice in the first place but haah very well. I accept on the condition that I be allowed to see Konan from time to time to make sure she is doing alright.” Nagato barely got out a he dropped to his knees, the temperature being too much for his body to handle and looking like he would faint any minute now.

“Good, that’s what I wanted to hear.” A grin broke out on my face as I manifested my own Boreal Shroud to counteract the heat bringing the temperature back to normal. “And your condition is acceptable.”

When I saw Nagato no longer looking ready to pass out anymore, I teleported beside the man before grabbing his hand and biting his wrist only getting a grunt of pain from the redhead.

“There, that’s the last one.” I muttered to myself not caring if the redhead heard me too happy about finally completing the Nightfall mission.

“Is there a reason you’re so happy? This is the second time I’ve felt such joy from you in the past few minutes.” I heard Velzard inquire curiously in my mind.

Sending her a mental thumbs up along with the image of me grinning like a loon, I responded. “Yeah, I’ve finally finished those two missions I told you about and I’m about to reap the benefits for them.”

“This, I’ve got to see with my own two eyes.” I tried not to tease her at her sounding even more excited than me at such a thing.

Focusing back on the now, I quickly got busy getting the severed arm back from Velgrynd and bringing Yahiko back to life biting him too as he was coming to making sure he was bound.

‘I think I’ll start doing this for everyone that I don’t plan into bringing to the Demiplane with us. Using the regular binding method on them and using the Shroud for everyone else.’

As Yahiko was getting his bearings on being alive again with Nagato helping him, I finally set the bound form of Konan on the ground and released her since she was already captured.

“I take it you heard all that.” I asked without looking back trusting she won’t do anything based on the feelings of happiness mixed with acceptance I could feel from her.

“…Yes.”

“So? Do you have an opinion on what I discussed with Nagato?” I finally turned to look at her with a raised eyebrow knowing she caught my real meaning behind those words. ‘Do you have a problem with it?’

The bluenette continued to stare at her childhood friends as they had a tearful reunion with Yahiko still looking completely lost as a few tears also fell down her beautiful cheeks.

“No. With Yahiko back, I know Nagato will be in good hands going forward. Besides if we are to believe your word, this will not be the last time I see them.”

“Konan! There you are. I’m so glad you’re also doing okay.” Yahiko yelled finally taking notice of Konan standing a bit behind me.

“I will give you five minutes.” I muttered and without waiting for a response, I teleported out followed by the others.

We appeared above the clouds in the sky and I immediately willed my HUD to appear accepting the rewards for the Uchiha’s Resurgence mission seeing 2 IMG tickets being added into my balance making me smirk again.

 “What’s got you so excited Akari?” Veldora was the first to ask having caught sight of my smirk.

“Wait and see.” Flipping to the Specific Waifu Perks section I only hesitated for a moment before pressing accept on the False Creator perk.

A moment later I blinked as I felt something change inside me. My Nihility Collapse, Imaginary Collapse, Turn Null or whatever you want to call it, the dangerous energy I now had inside me had increased in quantity going from having a puddle’s worth of energy to all the waters in the world to use as a comparison.

“This…” I didn’t know what else to say as I looked down at my hands in shock. While I obviously expected my power to increase by a wide margin, this was just ridiculous.

I had enough energy now to redo the entire universe several times over. What do you even say to that? With the shock of how much stronger I became though; I also felt an incredible sadness take root in my heart.

You see, just like the last time I became stronger, I felt the last of Rimuru’s memories become available to me. With the help of Ciel I had been able to figure out that the Memoria perk was responsible for this.

Back when I had first arrived in this world, I had gained Rimuru’s memories up until just before becoming a Demon Lord. With my evolution to a Demon Lord a few weeks back and then to a True Dragon only minutes afterwards more of Rimuru’s memories were unlocked.

This one hit me the hardest out of all them though as I just received his memories of being stuck at the end of Space and Time for countless years.

The loneliness. The despair. The overpowering longing to see people who I’ve never met before. The desperate need to just drop everything I was doing and head to the Tensura world was so strong it almost overwhelmed me. The only reason I had been able to keep my wits about me was due to Stress Defense and the reassuring presence of Ciel in the back of my mind.

‘They are not your friends. Heck they don’t even know you even exist Akari so pull yourself together.’ I repeated to myself a few times in my mind.

“Are you alright, Master? I’m detecting high levels of negative emotions coming from you.” As if my thoughts had summoned her, I heard the reassuring voice of my Ciel ask me in worry.

‘I’m fine now Ciel. Thank you.’ I was quick to reassure her not wanting my precious Ciel to worry about me.

Once more memories assaulted my mind only this time, they were about my Manas. My Ciel. Memories about the countless times she reassured me and helped me grow without asking for anything in return. How she was the only reason the original Rimuru never went insane in the first place while he spent all those years in isolation.

I suddenly blinked as I came to a realization that should have been obvious to me from the start.

I’ve been Rimuru this whole time huh?

Well not completely but a mix between the being known as Rimuru Tempest/Satoru Mikami and Alex Wells/Akari Senju or I guess it was Akari Tempest now.

I mean what else would you call having a person’s soul, memories, body and emotional connections? My Template of Satou was completely different from this as I only got his power and that’s it.

With that realization I became aware of something else as well. ‘Hey Ciel?’

“Yes, Master~?” Detecting I was not feeling sad anymore Ciel responded immediately with a happy tone in her voice.

‘I love you, Ciel.’ I poured my heart out to her hearing her let out a soft gasp in the back of my mind but I continued not quite finished with what I wanted to say.

‘I don’t think I ever thanked you for everything you’ve done for me and for always staying by my side. So, thank you and I hope you’ll continue to stand my by side in the future.’

“…Master. I…I ‘sniff’ I love you too ‘sniff’ and you have nothing to worry about.” Ciel overcome with emotion let out a few tears and even sniffled as she returned my affections before I felt her take on a serious tone, the first I had ever heard and felt from her. “I will never leave your side! I will become so strong that such a thing never comes to pass!”

Hearing the conviction and the emotion behind her words, a smile grew on my lips and I did my best to send the girl everything I was feeling as well. ‘The let’s get stronger together so that nothing can ever separate us and the others.’ I declared just as seriously.

“Yes~”

“You feel even more like big brother now.”

The voice of Velzard snapped me out of my talk with Ciel to see the dragon siblings eyeing me with curiosity and a little worry coming from Velzard and Velgrynd no doubt having felt my emotions just now.

“Thank you for the compliment.” I offered them a smile silently telling them that I was okay. “But I am nowhere near Veldanava’s power yet. I still have a way to go before I reach his power.”

“I really don’t remember much about our older brother, just the fact that he was the strongest and he had a daughter named Milim.” Veldora looked up in thought.

“Makes sense. You and Gryn are not the originals and are now alive thanks to my skills holding all your power and souls.” I added on with a nod of my head.

‘It will feel strange meeting your counterparts when we eventually travel to Tensura.’ And I had no doubt in my mind that we will be traveling there rather soon. Not immediately after leaving this world but probably after that.

Velzard stayed silent on the matter since she came about thanks to a Mission reward that pulled her from a timeline with a bad end where Feldway managed to destroy everything so she had all of her memories intact.

“Huhuhu ‘yet’ huh?” Velgrynd giggled in amusement at my wording as she looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

“Of course.” I shrugged my shoulders. “It may sound harsh of me to say but Veldanava is dead already whereas I am alive and can keep growing infinitely. It is only a matter of time now before I surpass him.”

I spoke nothing but facts as my powers had the capacity to grow infinitely someday even reaching the likes of Azathoth the actual Outer God or the Presence from the DC Comics.

“Fufufu well at least things will never be boring with you around.” Velgrynd appeared beside me and took possession of one of my arms and brought it between her breasts.

“Tsk, back off Velgrynd. Now is not the time for your antics.” Velzard tried to get her sister to release me only to fail as she went ignored though that probably had something to do with the girl also appearing by my other side and copying her sister’s actions.

“Make me!”

Ignoring the arguing sisters, I pulled up my Hud again and made a couple of more purchases buying all the Mapper perks immediately seeing dots appear in my Map of the locations of the people that hadn’t been bound yet.

‘There. With this we should have no problem now hunting down all the Otsutsuki no matter where they are.’ I nodded in satisfaction before I felt that Konan was done saying goodbye and was currently looking for us.

“Seems Konan is done. Let’s pick her up before moving on, shall we? I just bought the last thing we needed so I want you three to start hunting down the Otsutsuki while I finish things here in this world.” I spoke up breaking the girls from their argument.

“That’s right! You mentioned something about a map that would lead us to all our targets before. Good! I still have many moves that I never got to try out.” Battle junkie that he was, Veldora immediately got excited about the prospect of fighting stronger enemies and more importantly on testing his ‘moves’.

With the use of HUD and the Mapper perks they would also be able to see the Map that showed the location of everyone

“At least this saves us the time from having to search for them.” Velzard let go of my arm reluctantly followed by her sister.

A moment later we all reappeared in front Nagato, Konan and Yahiko again with the later immediately glaring my way as soon as we appeared but being held back by Nagato.

“Ready?” I looked towards Konan and seeing her nod I extended my hand towards her.

Releasing a small sigh from her mouth Konan started making her way towards us in small but measured steps as anguished looks appeared on the faces of Nagato and Yahiko.

“Konan! Don’t go! We can figure something out.” Yahiko yelled in a desperate attempt to keep his friend and childhood crush from leaving.

“There is nothing to figure out Yahiko. A deal was made and now I must keep my end of the bargain.” Before reaching us, Konan shot one last look at her two friends from childhood and offered them a smile. “Watch out for each other you two. I’ll be seeing you.”

Her words finally caused the two to lose the battle with their tears and they started openly sobbing in front of us.

Konan turned towards us again, discreetly wiping away her own eyes with her sleeve and finally taking my hand with her own while giving me a nod.

Shooting Yahiko and Nagato one last look we all disappeared a moment later as if we were never there leaving one last message in the mind of Nagato.

‘I will be in contact with you later after I accomplish what I promised.’

We reappeared again somewhere in Fire Country above the clouds with Konan cutely yelping in shock and jumping into my arms.

‘Seems the Shroud is already having an effect on her.’ I though looking down at Konan in amusement only smiling when she finally caught my look and a blush grew on her cheeks in embarrassment.

“You should be able to fly now with the use of the new power I granted you.” I muttered quietly into her ear making her slightly shiver. “Just think about calling forth that new power, it should be instinctual.”

A moment later Konan’s Storm Shroud manifested from her back and she tentatively let go of me letting out a small sigh in relief when she didn’t immediately plummet to the ground.

“Now here's the plan…” I turned to face the others and began explain my plan to everyone.

Basically, the dragon siblings would start hunting down all members of the Otsutsuki Clan while me and Konan would hunt down the remaining Jinchuuriki and a few other targets left in the Elemental Nations.

“After we finish here, I will join you on the hunt for those leeches while Konan goes back home.” I finished explaining to everyone getting nods of agreement.

“Good luck you three and good hunting.” I turned to the dragon siblings and offered them an encouraging smile.

“Fufufu thanks but I have a better idea.” With a sexy smirk in her face Velzard flew in close to me and pulled me into a kiss before pulling away with a satisfied look. “There, much better~”

Before I could make any comment, I felt two soft hands grab my face and gently turn me in another direction where I was met with another pair of lips this time belonging to Velgrynd who had a small blush on her cheeks.

“Make sure to hurry back, okay?” Velgrynd asked softly.

“Yeah…” I could only nod my head at her request getting a smile from her as she backed away from me and rejoined her siblings.

“Don’t worry Akari. By the time you join us, most of the enemies will have been dealt with.” Veldora finally chimed in giving me a thumbs up along with a giant grin full of confidence.

“Save some fun for me too alright?” I gave him my own grin and a moment later they all took off towards the heavens.

“Let’s go Konan. We’ll start with Iwa’s jinchuuriki.” I informed the woman beside me who had her head turned towards where the dragon siblings had disappeared to.

“Hai.”

‘Roshi, Han, Utakata, Fuu, Killer Bee and Naruto. It’s time to unite all the tailed beasts and summon Kaguya.’
