Chapter 10: Red and Blue

(Following Day)

Arriving much earlier than Hestia and Artemis yesterday evening, me and Est had decided to call it a day and went to bed for the night.

As it had become the norm now for the past week, Est followed me up to my room for the evening and slept beside me only in her knee socks. Due to the many times, she had done it now I became somewhat used to her antics and even played the role of the bigger spoon for the evening.

At least when Artemis didn’t decide to join us of course, as she had taken to doing so over the past few days in her attempt to make sure we didn’t do anything untoward before marriage.

Strangely our first night here after arriving in Orario, Artemis had refrained from joining us and I found it curious at the time but said nothing about it.

‘Yeah, I should’ve known this was bound to happen. Especially with them still smelling like alcohol.’

Was my nervous thought as I looked down at the forms of Artemis and Hestia sleeping soundly besides me with each of them claiming one of my arms. Poor Est had been relegated to my chest now though going by the content feeling coming from her, she didn’t seem to be upset about such a thing.

Hestia and Artemis were both wearing nightgowns that came down barely above their thighs and which were currently resting on their bellies revealing their pink and white panties. Seeing such an arousing sight only increased my nervousness as at this rate it would be impossible to control my morning wood due to the third girl on my chest who was technically naked.

Taking a few deep breaths to calm down my racing heart a curious thought entered my mind. Est was actually a little taller than Hestia huh?

Yeah, she totally was. Which was just amusing since both had very different body types.

‘Now how to get out of here? I got to get started on breakfast and my new companion should be arriving in a few hours once the purchases kick in.’

Almost as if sensing my thoughts, all the three girls tightened their hold on me making it harder for me to escape.

=====

It had taken a few tries but eventually I was able to escape my admittedly heavenly prison and quickly made breakfast for everyone after I finished my morning rituals.

It had not taken long for the smell of my food to attract everyone else and for them to come sleepily stumbling into the kitchen and sitting around the table with hungry looks in their eyes.

After a hearty English breakfast, I pulled them aside to the living room where we were now all seated after Hestia had updated my Falna.

“Two hundred.” Hestia muttered blankly as she stared down at the stat sheet with Artemis by her side. “You somehow managed to raise all of your stats by two hundred points.”

“Haah I had a feeling this would happen.” Artemis lowered her head in resignation while leaning back against the sofa she was sharing with Hestia.

“That’s crazy! If you keep growing like this then you will completely shatter the current record of fastest to level up.” Lante muttered in an amazed tone as she looked at me with wide eyes before eventually a teasing smile appeared on her face.

“Fufufu imagine the look on everyone’s faces when they learn of somebody completely unknown making them look like complete fools. In fact, we should start coming up with a nickname for you.” And there she went again on a ramble managing to lighten the mood in her own way.

“Geez, just how many monsters did you and Est-chan fight Rein-kun?” Hestia finally looked up from the stats sheet and gave me an exasperated look.

“A few hundred I think.” I answered automatically not really having a real clue on how many monsters a low-level adventurer usually killed in a day. “I also killed a black wyvern that suddenly appeared in the end.”

The anime didn’t really go into much detail about how many monsters could be found on each floor so I had no true comparison. It just briefly explained that the dungeon was somehow alive? And how it loved to throw adventurers off guard.

This is the reason why I found myself tilting my head in confusion as everyone but Est just seemed to freeze in place at my answer and just looked at me blankly.

“A few hundred? An irregular? What!? How is that even remotely possible?” Hestia finally lost her composure and stood up abruptly before pacing around the living room with a stressed look on her face as she muttered quietly to herself.

Feeling bad for putting her in this state I lowered my head and apologized slightly to the tiny goddess figuring it was the least I could do. “…Sorry.”

Hestia paused in her pacing and looked at me for a moment before her face softened and she let herself fall back in her seat again. “I see now why you were so worried about Rein-kun attracting the wrong kind of attention if this today is any indication of just how special he is.” She muttered quietly to the goddess beside her who only nodded her head in agreement.

“Haah…Yes. As it is, Rein is already stronger than most level 6 adventurers and possibly even the few level 7’s in just raw stats alone. That’s not even taking into account Est and his ridiculous sword that enabled him to take down a monster of Antares’s level in a single blow.” Artemis explained practically radiating worry through our bond.

“You should not really use Reid as a measure of my current strength.” I chimed in wanting to clarify things and at the same time trying to reassure them

“Reid will only allow itself to be drawn if it deems my opponent worthy and unless there are monsters on the level of Antares running around everywhere, Reid will not be seeing much battle.”

“Reid is your sword, right? The one blessed by a god from another world?” Hestia asked curiously and seeing me nod she continued. “While that’s somewhat reassuring to hear, we still have to deal with the main issue of you gaining strength too quickly and others focusing on you.”

Hestia looked at me again with a serious look on her pretty face. “It seems the only way forward is to-”

“Gather more familia members.” Artemis finished for her probably having come to the same conclusion.

“Mou, and I wanted to enjoy having Rein-kun to myself for another few months~” Hestia immediately went back to her usual self and pouted childishly.

Artemis also dropped her serious demeanor and was now twitching her eyebrow in irritation and slight jealousy. “I found Rein first you know? And I’ll have you know that you are never separating me from my Rein. We made a promise to always stay by each other’s side~” She finished looking down at Hestia with a smug look on her face and with Hestia now looking at Artemis with slightly narrowed eyes.

“I’m Rein-kun’s goddess now! It doesn’t matter who came first.” Hestia exclaimed crossing her arms underneath her breasts making them look even bigger. “Besides you have only known Rein-kun for a week longer than me and I’ll have you know that I also have no intention of ever letting Rein-kun go.”

I could only smile nervously at how quickly they had gone from worrying about me and the future, to fighting over who knew me longer and trying to outdo each other.

Speaking of gathering more members though, this was the perfect opportunity to tell them about my purchased companion.

“Ahem, Artemis-sama, Hestia-sama?” I coughed into my hand bringing their attention to me and continued. “I actually already have someone in mind for a new Familia member.” I muttered a little nervously not knowing how they would take such a news.

“Really?”

“Who Rein?”

Relieved that they were no longer arguing I relaxed into my seat with Est snuggled to my side. Just thinking about our future companions, I felt a smile unconsciously grow on my face so I opened my mouth and let out.

“A pair of maids.”

=====

(An Hour Later)

Since we couldn’t be in the Sweet Home while upgrades were taking place inside it, I used the time until the purchases would finalize to head to Miach’s Familia and let Naaza know that we would be heading to the dungeon a little later than usual today and if she was okay with that.

The others had gone to recruit some workers to come work on the church after they finally gave up on trying to make me reveal just who exactly would be joining us later today. I had kept my mouth shut though even after being subjected to many pouts and pleading faces by everyone but had not cracked.

In all honesty, the only reason I hadn’t given in was because I’d rather see with my own eyes the reaction they would make after I introduced them to the maids and what their power was.

Yep, and now I was now almost positive that I had a slightly sadistic side to me as I found amusement in seeing other’s make unexpected reactions.

Luckily for me it seemed as though it was mostly harmless fun brought about due to never really having many friends in both my lives and me wanting to experience the act of teasing your close friends.

Arriving at the Blue Pharmacy or the Miach Familia home, I headed inside with Est beside me and smiled at seeing Naaza behind the counter.

“Good morning, Miss Naaza.”

Immediately looking up from whatever she was looking at after being called, Naaza widened her eyes in surprise at my appearance before a huge smile grew on her face with her tail wagging behind her.

“Reinhard-san! Good morning~” She cheerfully greeted me, her usual aloof demeanor nowhere to be seen. “Are you here to pick me up for the dungeon? If you are then I’m ready to go whenever. And please, just Naaza is fine.”

“Naaza then.” I nodded in agreement to her request and saw as her smile somehow got even brighter. “I actually came to ask you if we could postpone our trip to the dungeon by a few hours due to a new member joining our Familia?”

At the mention of a new member, Naaza’s ears seemed to droop in her head and her smile dimmed. “Y-you already got a new member? D-do you even need me to show you around anymore?” She asked quietly while facing the ground.

Blinking at her sudden mood shift I thought about it for a second before the urge to slap my forehead almost overwhelmed me.

‘I remember now. Her deal was that she would help me until another member joined the Familia so she probably thinks I won’t need her anymore.’

“I hope we can still count on your help for the foreseeable future Naaza.” I spoke softly with a reassuring smile on my face watching as Naaza perked up at my words and looked at me again with some hope in her eyes.

“The new members that are joining have no knowledge whatsoever about the dungeon so I hope you will still be able to help us if it’s not too much trouble of course.”

The smile on Naaza turned bright again along with her cute ears. “O-of course! Just leave it to me~”

Resisting the urge to pet her ears I suddenly blinked as apparently Est had not been able to resist and was now petting Naaza on the head in a manner reminiscent to how I petted her.

“Good girl.” Est muttered softly almost as if talking to a pet.

“…”

“…”

Widening my eyes, I was quick to immediately pull Est away from Naaza and bowing to the girl forcing Est to do the same besides me. “Please excuse Est. She didn’t mean any disrespect and was just curious since she has never met a Chienthrope before.”

“…Sorry.” Knowing she made a mistake even if she was not fully aware of what she had done wrong, Est nonetheless offered an apology.

“I-It’s fine. Really. Just forget about it.” Naaza muttered in an embarrassed tone while looking off to the side. “Though I would have much preferred it if you were the one who had patted my head.”

Feeling my face burn in embarrassment at actually managing to hear that due to my insane senses I straightened back up and coughed into my hand. “Very well. As I was saying, is it alright if we come and pick you up in a few hours?”

Turning to face me once more with a small blush still dusting her cheeks, Naaza bobbed her head up and down. “Sure. No problem.”

With a wave we bid Naaza goodbye for now and headed back to the church.

“Hmm I wonder how Naaza’s ears feel?” I muttered quietly to myself finding that the thought wouldn’t leave my mind.

“Soft.” Est automatically answered making me blink and look down at her curiously.

“Really?”

“Mmn, try it next time Reinhard. Reinhard’s head pats are the best so I bet she will enjoy it.” Est said with a cute serious face.

“Hmm maybe I will.”

=====

It was finally time.

Just a moment ago I had felt my Shroud become even stronger thanks to Elemental Loom and saw my other purchases appear on my build.

“Is our new house ready Rein-kun?” Hestia, who was standing beside me, asked me excitedly as she almost vibrated in place.

“I can’t believe we will have a whole island to ourselves now~” Artemis commented from my other side with her own giddy smile.

“Huhuhu you look adorable with Est-chan on your shoulders like that. Can I get a turn next?” Lante giggled to herself off to the side only for Rethusa to whack her in the head for her cheek.

Speaking of Est, as Lante said she was currently riding on my shoulders munching on some cookies I had made and ignoring everything around her.

“Yeah, it’s ready. Now come on, we shouldn’t keep our new friends waiting for much longer.” I muttered and opened the portal to Sweet Home before signaling everyone to go in.

“Oh! Me first! Me first.” Like a hyperactive kid in a candy store, Hestia immediately bolted and run ahead of us not even looking back.

Artemis slumped in place at Hestia’s actions and leaned her head on my shoulder. “Haah, that Hestia. She never changes.” She muttered with fondness before looking up at me.

“Let’s go Rein.” Hugging my arm between her breasts, Artemis pulled me forward into the portal.

‘I wonder how they will react to my presence?’

=====

“Welcome home Reinhard-sama and guests.”

“We are beyond thankful for you taking us in, in our time of need.”

Two almost identical voices greeted us at the front of the house in a monotone voice.

The two were standing side by side showing that other than their voice, their appearance was mostly identical with the exception of their hair, eyes and one them having a slightly larger bust than the other.

The one on the left had medium length sky blue hair that covered her right eye, light blue eyes and a pink flower-shaped ribbon on the left side of her head. To her right was a girl with medium length pink hair that covered her left eye and red eyes. The ribbon on her head was on the right side of her head and was colored a light purple instead of pink.

Both girls were dressed in a white and black maid uniform with white stockings and black dress shoes making them look very cute.

“Hello Rem.” I greeted the blue haired sister first and consequently the one with the bigger chest with a smile before turning to her sister. “Hello Ram. I’m glad to have both of you with us.”

This version of the Oni sisters was from a different timeline than the original canon one where Ram never developed Stockholm syndrome towards that clown and in fact still despised him. According to the few details I had gotten before buying them, just a few months before Subaru arrived, the mansion had been attacked by the Witch Cult and Rem and Ram were about to be killed.

Just before one of the archbishops managed to kill them, they had heard a voice in their head asking if they wished to be saved and they had accepted and thus here they were.

That was all I really knew about them other than what I had seen and read in the anime and light novel and I had no idea if they even knew the other version of Reinhard from that world.

“First let me introduce you to everyone…”

I then took the next few minutes introducing everyone with the Oni twins blinking in shock when I introduced Hestia and Artemis as goddesses. When introductions were out of the way I led everyone to the living area where we all were now sitting.

“Do you two already know Rein-kun?” Finding it curious that the twins acted like they already knew me beforehand, Hestia asked the first question that popped into her mind.

Rem and Ram blinked at her question before nodding as one.

“Of course, we know Reinhard-sama. Right Rem?” Ram began with a nod of her head as if that was an obvious question.

“Indeed nee-sama. I don’t think there is anybody in the world who wouldn’t know the Sword Saint after all.” Rem followed up with nod of her own as if finding the idea itself silly.

Almost as one the girls around me who didn’t know that information with the exception of Est, turned in my direction and stared at me silently.

“Hehehe, did I forget to mention that I’m rather famous in my world?” I asked nervously with a bit of sweat rolling down the side of my head.

What does elemental loom do? Rem is good civilization.

Rimurugale

Think of it like an overall upgrade to the shroud. Now it can no longer fail to capture a target like the original. When you manifest the Shroud, it's no longer super obvious either. Finally depending on the type of elemental shroud you buy, you can infuse yourself with it empowering yourself. Hope that helps.
