Chapter 41
Leaving home in a much better mood along with a slightly blushing Konan who couldn’t look me in the eye properly, I finally made my way to the last piece of the Juubi to extract.
Or to be more exact, Naruto.
“You will be meeting your old sensei soon. Are you nervous?” I turned to Konan who was flying beside me with the use of her shroud. Of course, I was flying slow enough for her to keep up since I wanted to kind of take my time with this.
My question seemed to finally cause her blush to recede as she looked at me with a calm look. “Not at all. I’ve been prepared to fight Jiraiya-sensei for a long time now.”
“Makes sense.” It was all I muttered before going silent again and focusing in front feeling Jiraiya and Naruto’s signature get closer and closer.
“Get ready, they are just up ahead.” I announced five minutes later.
“Right.”
=====
(Jiraiya POV)
‘Akatsuki again.’ Reading over a report sent to him by his spy network, Jiraiya couldn’t help but frown in worry at the latest news he had received.
The Raikage, Killer Bee and Yugito Nii had been kidnapped in broad daylight in their own village, somehow being able to evade all guards until they attacked.
No news of their appearance was heard so it was assumed by most that they were most likely dead at this point throwing the village into chaos after losing its Kage and two junchuuriki.
The new Kage that had been installed was reportedly wanting to call a Five Kage Summit over this on how to handle the Akatsuki.
All of this just painted a grim picture in his mind and confirmed for him his suspicions that Akatsuki was after the tailed beasts. The problem was that Naruto was nowhere near ready yet from defending himself from such an organization if they had such monsters as Itachi and Kisame even if they had already been dealt with by Akari Senju.
Speaking of Akari Senju, he had received grim news from the Great Toad Sage recently about the boy that he didn’t like.
Apparently, the future that the old geezer had once told him was all but ashes now and the future was now clouded with uncertainty except for something that had chilled him to his bones.
The World of Shinobi was coming to an end soon and a new one would take its place all ushered in by none other than the boy himself.
Of course, the prophecy could have a completely different meaning other than the ominous one that had popped into his mind at first but it was something that had not been able to leave his mind since.
‘I can’t even tell anyone about this to warn them with all the connections and how much pretty much everyone loves the kid. Heck even Tsunade would kill me for even suggesting such a thing after he went and brought her brother back.’ He thought in frustration about his old teammate and the woman he still loved knowing how happy she’d been ever since returning to the village all thanks to that boy.
‘That’s not even mentioning that the boy somehow managed to awaken the Rinnegan.’ To think that he would meet two people in his lifetime to possess such eyes.
Compared to his old student Nagato though, this one was a complete monster in all shinobi arts with his mastery of the Mokuton and the Sharingan on top of that. It was a talent not seen since the days of Hashirama and Madara themselves who if rumor was to be believed he was a descendant of the latter too.
‘Could I stop him if the worst comes to pass?’
As if someone had heard his thoughts, he heard a voice speak directly to his mind. “Not a chance pervert.”
Standing up in an instant Jiraiya warily cast a glance at the small camp he and Naruto were currently using trying to sense any presences and feeling none. ‘Was my mind playing tricks one me?’
“Up here.”
Hearing that voice, a pit formed in his stomach and he slowly looked up catching the sight of two people floating in the air above them, one of them wearing a familiar black cloak with red clouds.
Naruto who was completely focused on a new jutsu he had given him to keep him from nagging him, finally looked up too at hearing the familiar voice.
“Akari! What the hell are you doing here! And how are you flying like that!?”
“Step behind me, Naruto!” Jiraiya barked out seriously as he stepped forward ready to defend himself. ‘I have a bad feeling about this.’
=====
(Regular POV)
Looking at the wary looking Jiraiya and the confused Naruto I couldn’t help but smile in amusement feeling the distrust I could feel from the man aimed at me. ‘I see. So, the toads finally told him something.’
“Relax you two, I have no plan to harm either of you. Once I get what I came for I’ll be out of your hair and let you go back to what you were doing.” I tried to keep things friendly frowning internally when Jiraiya only appeared more tense at my words.
“Those are not the words you use when trying to tell someone that you come with no ill intentions kid.” Jiraiya frowned at me before looking more closely at Konan and blinking in recognition.
“Konan?”
“Hello Jiraiya-sensei. Long time no see.” Konan greeted calmly with a small nod of her head.
“I thought you three had died. Does that mean Yahiko and Nagato are alive too?” Keeping a wary eye on me but seeing as I made no move to interrupt, Jiraiya continued talking to his past student.
“Jiraiya-sensei?” Naruto muttered out loud with a confused tone as he looked at Konan. “You mean she was your student too Ero-sennin?”
Naruto’s question went ignored by everyone much to his annoyance as Konan replied. “Nagato is alive and well and so is Yahiko after being revived by Akari.”
“So, I was not completely wrong about your demise then but still it’s good to hear that your now all alive.” Jiraiya let out a small sigh of relief looking truly glad to hear that before focusing on me again for a moment and noticing my closeness with Konan.
“Damn kid, are you not satisfied with those girls of yours back at the village? It seems as if every time I hear about you or see you, you are always accompanied by a beautiful girl.” Jiraiya tried to jest with a jealous pout never once dropping his guard.
“What can I say, I’m a lucky guy.” I shrugged easily in a relaxed stance knowing the man was no threat to me.
“It seems you haven’t changed in all these years Jiraiya-sensei.” Konan rolled her eyes slightly with an exasperated look not looking surprised at all.
“Hahaha I can’t say the same about you unfortunately.” Jiraiya chuckled in a disappointed tone as his eyes lowered to the cloak she was wearing. “To think you were part of Akatsuki this whole time.”
At the mention of Akatsuki, Naruto finally stopped pouting at being ignored and turned serious watching Konan with a wary look.
“You know nothing of our circumstances so you have no right to look at me like that.” The bluenette finally let a small scowl show on her beautiful face directed at the pervert.
“You’re right that I have no right to judge you but it doesn’t negate the fact that what you guys are doing is wrong.” Jiraiya stated strongly only getting a frown out of the woman before turning to face me again.
“And you Akari? Don’t tell me that you joined them?”
I could only laugh at his ridiculous statement. “Of course not. In fact, you could say that Akatsuki as a whole is now all but destroyed with only Konan and her friends being the only survivors.”
Blinking at such information, Jiraiya turned his eyes to Konan who only nodded in agreement. “Then why are you both of you here then? I doubt it’s just to say hello?”
“Konan works for me now and I invited her along shall we say.” I shrugged getting another blink from the man and continued now looking at the man seriously.
“As for what we’re here for…” My eyes slightly turned to Naruto who was still standing behind Jiraiya making the man narrow his eyes dangerously. “I’m here to collect something.”
“The Kyuubi.” Jiraiya muttered with his chakra spiking in readiness for battle. “Does Tsunade know about this?” He asked making sure to keep both me and Konan in his sight.
“WHAT!? You mean you’re after me?” Naruto exclaimed in surprise and a little fear as he retreated back a step. “W-why does everyone want that fox anyway?”
“I’m simply keeping my promise to a friend.” I responded to the kid much to his confusion then turned to Jiraiya again who seemed to be building up Sage chakra for a while now but I had dismissed it since it wouldn’t really help his chances against me.
“As to your question, yes she does know.”
“Tsk, so she’s known all along.” Jiraiya shook his head shaking off his disappointment and feelings of betrayal. “Naruto! Make sure to keep close to me!”
Raising up my hands in a non-threatening manner I tried for diplomacy. “Please relax. As I stated earlier, I have no intention of harming either of you if I don’t have to. I’ll just extract the Kyuubi and be on my way.”
“Ha! As if I’ll trust a word that comes out of your mouth now after revealing your intentions. As a seal master you should know perfectly well that extracting a bijuu kills the host and there’s no way I’m letting that happen.”
I clicked my tongue in annoyance at the stubbornness of the man. “Idiot. Have you already forgotten that I have the power to bring the dead back to life?”
“It doesn’t change the fact that you still have to kill Naruto to get what you want!” The pervert rebuked immediately. “Besides, there’s no way I can trust what you will do with such a power in the future.”
“I never said he had to di-” I couldn’t finish what I had to say as a flame bullet was sent our way.
“Katon: Endan! (Fire Release: Flame Bullet).”
‘Idiot. The hard way it is.’ Signaling Konan that I would handle it I stepped forward and let my Rinne Sharingan come to life absorbing the technique completely.
Once we could see again, we looked down to see the form of Jiraiya now in his imperfect Sage Mode with the Two Great Sage Toads standing on his shoulders and Naruto nowhere to be seen.
I already knew that the man had created a clone and had it run with Naruto as he attempted to buy time for them to get away but let it be as there was nowhere in the planet, they could run to that I wouldn’t find.
“So, it has come to this after all.”
“To think a descendant of the Sage would turn to evil.”
“I’ll be counting on you for this battle Fukasaku-sama, Shima-sama.”
“I would really appreciate it if you didn’t talk as if I wasn’t here.” I complained in slight annoyance catching their attention.
“Those eyes…” Fukusaku muttered quietly staring up at me and my eyes specifically. “Those don’t look like the eyes mentioned in legend.”
“Who cares! Let’s just get this over with! I still have dinner to get ready.” Shima dismissed looking annoyed.
“They might have mutated due to his lineage. While they look similar to those I saw in the past, they also look similar to a Sharingan.” Jiraiya commented curiously.
“Your somewhat correct.” I chose to answer their curiosity. “These eyes are known as the Rinne Sharingan, the eye that the Rinnegan and Sharingan originated from.”
“How do you know that?” Jiraiya asked curiously.
“It doesn’t really matter how I know. Now let me finish what I wanted to say earlier. Naruto doesn’t have to die. I will just extract the Kyuubi and be on my way afterwards so please back down.” I tried one last time to handle this peacefully.
“And what will you do with such a power? Are you also the one responsible for what happened in Kumogakure?” He asked instead.
“I will permanently remove the ability of every human in the planet to mold chakra returning them to the time before Shinobi existed.” My words caught them by surprise.
“R-remove the ability to mold chakra? Is that even possible?” The old toad muttered to himself.
“I couldn’t help but notice that you didn’t answer my other question or that you don’t seem to think of yourself as human.” Being a spymaster, of course he the old pervert would immediately notice the way I worded things much to my annoyance.
“All I did was get back at that dumbass for targeting someone precious to me a few years back and I don’t think I should answer your other question.” Knowing where this conversation was leading, I released all restraints on my chakra and narrowed my eyes at my opponents.
“After all nothing but despair awaits you after knowing the answer.” Not done yet, I immediately went into Sage Mode with the force of my chakra warping the air around me. “So, it’s really come to this huh?”
“I’m afraid so.” Jiraiya could only nod his head with sweat visibly rolling down his neck now that he could feel my chakra properly.
“Jiraiya-boy, I hope you have a plan. As it currently stands, I see no way for us to win.” The older toad warned as he and his wife prepared themselves nonetheless.
“Looks like dinner will be late tonight Pa.” Shima muttered with a serious tone.
“Here we go!”
With a shout they launched themselves at me even if knowing deep inside that they had no chance to beat me.
‘Hmph, I guess I could play with you three for a bit since I respect you.’
=====
(Five Minutes Later)
The ‘battle’ had gone just as I expected it.
Boring as hell.
Even with all the respect I held for the pervert it hadn’t stopped the fight from being a bore fest. I was just too strong now for any being in this world to really get my blood pumping.
Normally I would feel sad and despair at such a fact, since there is a lot of truth in the saying ‘It’s lonely at the top’. However, to my relief I knew that there were countless beings in other settings that were much stronger than me right now and continued forward.
I had people who now depended on me and it was up to me to keep them safe from the horrors we might face in the future. I could even see myself befriending other such powerful beings with Rimuru’s own setting being a prime example of this.
Anyways, after capturing the three toad sages I left them alone and teleported myself and Konan to Naruto’s current location which happened to be the secret land of the toads Mt. Myoboku.
Once there I used my Time Stop ability to capture any other toads, I had missed including the Great Toad Sage before disappearing again with Naruto to another location.
After that it had only taken a few moments for me to extract Yang Kurama from the unconscious Naruto and feeling sorry for the kid I took it upon myself to devour the chakra that been left behind by his mother before reviving her.
To my surprise his mother ended up being Sara from The Last Tower movie who was apparently an Uzumaki in this timeline.
I left their unconscious forms back with the pervert to let him deal with explaining to Naruto about his mother and left for my final destination.
The Mountain Graveyard and the place where the Gedo Mazo currently was, or the husk of the Juubi if you prefer.
“Alright here we go. Stand back Konan.” I instructed to the bluenette who only nodded her head and retreated a few steps back.
‘Ready guys?’ I called out to the bijuu inside.
Since they didn’t want to lose their individuality and I still had a promise to keep, we had come up with a plan to revive the Ten-Tails/Kaguya without sacrificing them.
With infinite stores of energy thanks to Inexhaustible, I just had each of the tailed beasts give me enough chakra that I then stored in my Imaginary Space for safekeeping. Since bijuu were made out of chakra anyways, I would just feed the Gedo Mazo that chakra and bam, the juubi would be back.
The only bijuu that had given me any problems was Gyuki since I had killed his partner but once he learned what I was doing he had begrudgingly agreed to cooperate.
“Yeah! Let’s do this!”
“One step closer to freedom!”
“Finally!”
With everyone’s approval I raised my hand with my palm facing up where a condensed ball of chakra appeared white in color. Then a moment later the Gedo Mazo’s mouth opened before a sucking sound was heard and I let go of the chakra seeing it fly straight into the statue where it was quickly absorbed.
‘Time to meet the bunny milf.’ I thought in amusement absorbing the Gedo Mazo itself becoming the ten tails jinchuuriki.
