Chapter 49: The Black Spider

Several Days Later

The past few days had been extremely busy as we got settled in for the short time we would be staying in this world. I could say without any doubt that I was extremely lucky to have run into Shin—or Tomoe, now I suppose.

You see, Tomoe had a particular ability that was a literal godsend for me and for my purposes once I made it to the Cardinal World. With a combination of her mist manipulation, spatial manipulation, illusion magic, and knowledge of barriers, Tomoe had managed to create her own personal dimension whose physical conditions she could alter from the inside.

After her contract with me, and more importantly after my subsequent naming and the forming of a Soul Corridor between us, that personal dimension had changed permanently.

It was now a stable and continuously expanding world with its own flora and fauna, completely safe from anyone wishing to enter unless invited by either Tomoe or myself. As for why it was so safe, that was the next crazy thing that Astra and I had somehow managed to pull off with a bit of difficulty.

The location of this personal world was actually inside my own Imaginary Space, a Chaos World similar in nature, being infinite in size and space. Astra and I had managed to sort of quarantine a section of my Imaginary Space to house the expanding world, so anyone wanting to intrude upon it would first have to get through both of us.

I sincerely pitied the poor bastard who ever tried to intrude upon what Astra considered a place belonging only to her and myself. My Astra could be quite possessive most of the time, and the only reason she tolerated my subordinates was because there was literally no safer place for them while we traveled between universes.

Moving on from my cute Astra being possessive, which was old news, we had gone back to the Highland Orc village after explaining to Emma the situation and let her kin know that they no longer needed to worry about paying tributes to Tomoe.

Happy at such news, they agreed to become my subordinates, with Tomoe playing most of the role in their agreement since she was actually known here.

After a party celebrating their new status, I transported everyone to my new Demiplane, since Tomoe and Jibril had gone into a sleep cycle as their bodies processed their evolution after my naming.

When they had come to the following day, Jibril had acquired the natural evolution tree of the Angels from the Cardinal World and had jumped almost straight to the top—to a Cherub, the second-highest ranking and most powerful of Angels.

With her background I wasn’t too surprised, honestly, nor when she excitedly told me of her new Unique Skill: Avenger while trying to hump me.

It was a skill similar to Hinata Sakaguchi’s Usurper in that it let her steal an opponent’s skills, but it differed in that Jibril couldn’t steal summons. In return, as long as Jibril managed to kill her opponent, she would be able to take their skills, up to Unique Skills, without the drawback of the opponent needing to be weaker than her.

Additionally, since she was now an actual angel, and not a god-killing monster as she originally was in Disboard, she had naturally gained the ability to use Holy Magic along with Miracles thanks to her connection with me.

With her new skills and abilities, Jibril finally fit the part of an angel from the Cardinal World perfectly, capable of both healing and destruction in equal measure, which fit her personality.

For Tomoe, she had gotten the Unique Skill: Trickster, which basically powered up her already prodigious talent with illusion magic, mist manipulation, and spatial manipulation to ridiculous levels. If he didn’t watch it, my boy Zegion might have a bit of competition in that department in the future.

As for their appearances, there had been little change other than both somehow becoming even more beautiful, and Jibril acquiring a new set of wings, now having a total of four that she could hide on a whim if she wanted.

With those two back in the picture, I immediately set them to work. Jibril was put in charge of exploring our surrounding area and keeping a lookout for anyone interesting.

Tomoe, on the other hand, got to work transporting as many different animals as she could into the Demiplane so there would be plenty of variety, and managing the Demiplane by making a chibi version of herself that I had named Komoe.

I myself was busy setting up what would be our home—under some protest from everyone, since they didn’t believe someone of my stature should be doing that kind of thing—naming all the Highland Orcs that had moved in, transporting their homes to the Demiplane, and going over plans with Astra about what we needed to accomplish in this world.

So far these were the most important.

1.        Find Mio, subdue her and make her my subordinate.

2.        Have Tomoe and Mio convince the tribes following them to become my subordinates and move here.

3.        Similarly have those two, along with Jibril, find tribes willing to become my subordinates.

4.        Wait for Makoto to appear, the protagonist of this world, and either copy all of his abilities or devour him.

5.        Make sure to recruit the Elder Dwarves since they are very skilled at their craft.

That was it. For the time being at least.

Luckily most of those tasks could be accomplished or would fall into place once I had both Tomoe and Mio under my command, so technically I was already halfway there.

All of this brings us to the here and now.

With our home finally set and all facilities working as intended, even if there was no internet, which I would have to think about some workaround for in the future, I could now let my subordinates out since they had been getting a little impatient.

We—that being myself, Jibril, Tomoe, and Emma, whose looks finally matched her voice and personality—were now standing on an open field with the girls around me being curious about finally getting to meet my other subordinates.

“Alright, I’m going to bring them out now so please make sure to be on your best behavior,” I stated, my gaze turning specifically to Jibril, who was already drooling a bit with an excited look on her face, having met them prior for a bit.

“A Samurai is always respectful to her Lord’s subjects~” Tomoe said proudly with a puffed-out chest, having taken to the role of a female samurai quite heavily and always pleading to see any memories I had of the subject.

“Of course, Young Master,” came the soft and melodious voice of the newly transformed Emma, who was now breathtakingly beautiful with long violet hair, bright green eyes, and soft tanned skin. The only physical traits Emma still possessed of her previous self were two cute pig ears at the sides of her head and a small pig tail on her back.

“Huehehe~ I finally get to see completely different races again! Oh, the joys of the unknown!” Jibril muttered, having completely missed my glance as she wiped her drool.

“Haah, whatever,” I muttered with a shrug before extending my hand forward. “Sorry it took longer than I thought to get situated.”

Right after I said that, I released them from Infinity Space, which was technically here somewhere now with both realms connected.

My gaze first turned left, where my first subordinates and oldest friends were gathered in their own little group. There was Nelliel, Tier, Starrk, Lilynette, Pesche, Dondochakka, Apacci, Mila Rose, Sung-Sun, Yin, Yang, and finally Riruka.

They all greeted me with happy smiles, which I returned, and I could tell that Nelliel, Lilynette, and Riruka wanted to hug me but were holding themselves back for the moment.

My gaze then traveled a little to the right, where I saw the remaining Bambies—Bambi, Lili, Meni, and Candi—standing together with Bazz-B standing a bit apart from them.

Other than Bambi, who gave me a shy and slightly fearful nod of acknowledgement, and Bazz-B, who grunted with his hands in his pockets, the others immediately started looking around in wonder.

As for Gremmy, Astra and I had come to the conclusion that he wouldn’t fit into the group after all due to his personality and had simply devoured him.

“Welcome, everyone,” I spoke up, turning their gazes from looking around at their new surroundings to myself and the girls beside me.

“It isn’t much for now, but this is home.” I extended my hand and waved it around us, signifying everything the eye could see.

“It’s beautiful,” Nelliel was the first to speak with a happy smile. Some of the others also shared similar opinions as she waited until everyone spoke up before continuing.

“Before anything else though, with the exception of Miss Jibril…” Here Nelliel paused as she cast an uncertain gaze at Jibril, who was giggling perversely and muttering to herself. “…Would you mind introducing everyone else, Caius?”

Before I could comply with her request, I was interrupted by a scowling Jibril, who had gone from looking like a degenerate to a pissed-off angel in the drop of a hat, along with a stern-looking Tomoe and Emma.

“Why are you addressing our Master so casually?” Jibril demanded with narrowed eyes, not looking pleased at all and making her previous actions appear as if they were an illusion.

“That’s right! As his subordinates, such casual disrespect won’t be allowed! Even from my Lord’s first subordinates!” Tomoe followed up, completely in agreement.

“Just because our Young Master is a very kind individual doesn’t mean that we should completely forgo proprieties,” Emma stepped up too, feeling the same.

‘Yep, they completely ignored my words, didn’t they?’

I could only watch with a blink as what I was hoping to be a pleasant reunion and introduction slowly crumbled before my eyes. Knowing some of the others’ personalities, they wouldn’t take that lying down.

“Hah!?”

Case in point, Riruka, being the typical cute tsundere that she was, immediately stepped forward and menacingly glared back at my new subordinates.

“Who the heck do you think you are to talk to us like that? We’ve been with Caius much longer than you! Don’t think that just because he decided to pick up some strays that you’re all somehow superior to us!” Riruka barked cutely with balled fists.

“That’s right! Know your place, newbies!” Apacci, having a similar temperament, also didn’t hesitate to show her fangs as well.

And with Apacci talking, it didn’t take a genius to see who spoke next.

“By the way, in case it wasn’t very clear, that place is beneath us!” Mila Rose barked with a raised fist.

“Fufufu, seems your new subordinates need some lesson in manners, Caius-sama.” Sung-Sun sassed with venomous eyes while covering the lower half of her face.

“Don’t go getting ahead of the line!” Lilynette spoke up next, looking just as fired up, causing Starrk behind her to sigh before ignoring everything and walking away, probably to find a place to sleep.

The next to step up actually surprised me since I didn’t expect it, as Candice smirked arrogantly and flipped her hair to the side.

“Seems your new bitches think pretty highly of themselves,” Candice snarked mockingly as green lightning sparked around her body.

Sensing the gathering magic and Reiryoku from everyone, I decided to step in before things really escalated into a fight.

Thankfully I was saved from having to do so by Komoe, who suddenly appeared in the middle of everything, causing everyone to pause as they took in the cute girl that looked almost identical to Tomoe.

Komoe quickly looked around as if trying to find someone, only to pause and blink at finding herself in the middle of two glaring sides. She nervously backed away a step while gulping, a nervous smile on her face.

“What is it, Komoe?” I spoke up, glad for the distraction. Her gaze turned to me, a relieved look crossing her face before it suddenly turned panicked.

“Master! Urgent news!” Komoe exclaimed cutely as she waved her arms back and forth, doing a wonderful job of causing everyone to drop their previous annoyed or angered looks and look at her curiously.

“You wanted to know information about the Black Spider, right? We found it! It’s currently rampaging close to where the Highland Orc village was,” Komoe relayed in a hurry.

Smiling at the good news, I summoned a big lollipop to my hand, immediately causing Komoe’s gaze to zero in on it as I held it out to her.

“Good job, Komoe. Here, take this.” The next instant the sweet was taken from my hands and shoved into Komoe’s mouth. She thanked me with her mouth full.

“Th-mm-ank you.”

“You deserved it, Komoe-chan~ Now to deal with a masochistic spider,” I declared. Ignoring everyone around me, I disappeared from the Demiplane and reappeared in the air close to the Orc village.

It took me literally less than a second to locate said rampaging spider, due in part to how big it was—it being the size of a small one-story building—and by the screams of help coming from a short old man running away from it.

‘No, not an old man,’ I realized with a growing smile. ‘A Dwarf! An Elder Dwarf at that!’

Ignoring as Tomoe appeared near me with her own Mist Gate, which was the ability we were using to come and go from the Demiplane, along with a few others, my draconic wings sprouted behind me and in the next moment I was gone.

Traveling at insane speeds, I was before the Black Spider and the fleeing Elder Dwarf in less than a second.

“Get behind me!” I declared confidently, causing the Dwarf to become startled for a second at my sudden appearance but nonetheless listening to my instruction.

“You can’t beat it! It regenerates from everything! Run!” the Elder Dwarf tried to warn me as he kept running.

“I’m not trying to beat it, just subdue it,” I muttered to myself quietly as the Black Spider tried to skewer me with one of its sharp legs.

“Useless,” I commented as my hand flashed. In the next instant blood flew as the leg was sent flying to the side, cut down the middle.

It was not just a regular cut, though. I had made sure to imbue my attack with Slanesh, Lord of Excess, making sure that the spider felt an indescribable amount of pain along with an equal amount of pleasure.

“Gyyaaaah~” the spider screamed in sudden pain that soon turned to pleasure. It sounded a bit creepy, actually, coming from a huge spider.

“You’re hungry, right?” I asked as I walked up to it fearlessly, not caring as it tried to attack me again with more of its legs.

Before the legs could even touch me, they suddenly came to a complete stop, the spider dropping to the ground a moment later. If one looked carefully, they would see almost invisible wire wrapped all around the spider, keeping it from moving at all.

I had just used my Universal Thread, which was powered by my magicules, so there was no way in hell the spider was coming loose.

Watching it struggle within the threads as it tried to come near me as I got closer, I held up my hand, letting a tiny bit of my life essence, since I had no blood, form into a sphere before holding it up to its mouth.

“Eat then,” I declared, bringing my hand even closer. A moment later its mouth closed around my hand, trying to eat it whole but failing as its sharp teeth came in contact with my skin and grinding against it.

I had to admit, I felt a bit strange having my hand gnawed on by a gigantic spider, and also a bit weird since said giant spider was letting out quite the lewd sounds as it snacked on my life energy.

“Mmnyaaa~ So delicious! I’ve never felt both so much pain and yet so much pleasure! More! Please give me more!” the spider, who sounded quite feminine and sensual, pleaded to me. I was sure if it had a tongue it would be licking my hand right now.

‘Just deal with it, Caius!’ I reminded myself inwardly over and over again. ‘Just remember that once this huge spider makes a contract with you, it will turn into a beautiful girl that will be extremely devoted to you!’

Hearing it moan again, my face turned blank as I finally gave it what it wanted and slashed my hand to the side, cutting off all of the spider’s left legs using Slanesh again and causing it to scream in euphoria.

“Thaaaaattssss iiiittttt~ I’ve never felt so fulfilled!”

‘Yep, I’m definitely wiping this scene from my memory at the earliest opportunity,’ I thought with a deadpan.

All in all, going by the completely enamored look the spider had—and god, it was weird saying that since it sounded ridiculous—I would say that Mio was now completely hooked.

‘I really hope she and Jibril don’t get along,’ I thought in slight worry, since they had pretty similar personalities.
