Chapter 25: Arlong Park Falls
Letting my gaze travel between all the Fish-Men present, I noted that they were looking at us in a bit of surprise for a few seconds before they relaxed a moment later, apparently not thinking us much of a threat.
My head stopped for a moment on the figure of a literal pink octopus with legs and white hair that had a funny appearance matching the dumb look on his face, before it finally settled on the Fish-Man still sitting down on a lawn chair with his arms crossed and a saw-shaped nose.
“Arlong…” the guy opened his mouth and said in a disinterested tone. “My name happens to be Arlong.”
Walking ahead with my right hand already balled into a fist, I stared at him dead on. “My name is Monkey D. Luffy. A pirate.”
As soon as I said that, the disinterested gazes turned a bit sharp and hostile, but I ignored them as I continued walking toward where their little group — and more importantly, where Arlong — was.
Seeing my intentions, a few mooks stood in my way with arrogant smirks as they blocked my path.
“Hold it, you.”
“Hehehe, where do you think you’re goin’!?”
“You need to run things by us first, human.”
As they came too close though, I looked up at them. Despite my new height increase, they were still a bit taller than me. I glared at them, releasing a burst of Haoshoku.
“Move.” I muttered blankly, not stopping my stride.
A moment later, their eyes turned white and foam escaped their mouths as they were knocked unconscious, leaving my path open again.
The action finally got more of a reaction than a few widened eyes, as some of the Fish-Men gasped in surprise and confusion while Arlong himself looked at me with narrowed eyes.
“What does a pirate want with me?” Arlong asked condescendingly.
Tightening my fist even more and hearing my bones pop, I extended my hand backward as my skin gained a pink color. I went into Gear 2 and coated my fist with Haki along with slotting in Fire Fist.
“I’m here to break your spine for what you did to Nami.” I answered coldly, and in the next moment I let the momentum of my fist snap back.
“Gum Gum…”
With the added combination of Fire Fist, Gear 2, and Haki, my fist literally burst into flames under the gaping eyes of everyone before it connected with a shocked Arlong, who was too slow to react in time to dodge.
“…Red Hawk!”
The moment it came in contact with Arlong’s solar plexus, an explosion occurred before the loud and pained voice of Arlong followed it as he was literally burned alive while being launched into the main building behind him, almost bringing it down in the process.
‘That… genuinely looked like one of Ace’s attacks. Seems Fire Fist has amazing synchronization with my Haki and Gears.’ I thought, slightly impressed and mentally making a note of it for later.
“Arlong-san!”
“Captain!”
Many Fish-Men screamed in worry over their Captain before that worry turned into anger as they turned to me as I slowly let Gear 2 fade away along with my Haki.
“Hmph, that’s what he gets for making our Navigator cry. There’s a lot more that’s coming to him.” I huffed in irritation, feeling some of my anger settle as I heard the pained screams of Arlong somewhere in the distance.
The moment I had finished saying that, many Fish-Men who were hanging out underwater and the ones on land launched themselves at me with the intent to kill.
Crossing my arms, I did nothing, and a moment later a whirlwind of kicks and blade slashes appeared at my sides as Zoro and Sanji finally made their appearance.
“Butt out, small fries!” Sanji declared with a frown as he brought down his leg.
“As if we would let someone like you close to our captain.” Zoro said with a huff, two of his swords already out that he had borrowed from Krieg’s crew after I kicked their ass, since the two cheap ones were broken.
More commotion followed by painful screams was heard a moment later as Tiche made quick work of her own share of Fish-Men. She had not taken them down painlessly either, as her fingers and heels were coated in their blood.
“Trash like you deserves death.” Tiche muttered darkly with a frown on her face that did nothing to diminish how hot she looked right now.
“You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do this!” came the voice of Nami next as she took down a few Fish-Men as well with well-placed strikes to the head or to their groin.
Her expression was one of pure hatred as she released all the anger that she had been forced to keep to herself for the sake of her sister and village.
“I-I won’t hide away this time!” Usopp said at last as he shot a few Fish-Men in the head with what looked like chili powder, going by the way they screamed bloody murder as they grabbed their eyes and throats, even if Usopp was shaking like a leaf and standing far back.
Johnny and Yosaku were standing by the entrance of Arlong Park to make sure the villagers didn’t interfere, since Nami was worried they would try to do something stupid.
And just like that, in just a few moments the majority of the Arlong Pirates was taken down as if they were just fodder, leaving just Arlong’s top three officers: Kuroobi, Hatchan, and Chew.
The officers, shocked and enraged at what was happening, were unsure as to whether to check in on Arlong, since even now screams could still be heard from inside, or glare at Nami.
“Hachi! Go check in on Arlong-san! We’ll handle things here!” Kuroobi commanded, getting a quick nod from Hachi before he ran away inside the building in search of his captain.
That handled, the ray-fish Fish-Man turned his attention on Nami with a murderous expression.
“Nami! You traitorous bitch! I knew we should have killed you long ago!” Kuroobi yelled in anger.
“I hope you know you and your village are finished after this, Nami!” Chew exclaimed in equal anger.
“Like I care!” Nami yelled back in equal anger. “From today forward, I’m leaving the crew and never coming back! I will no longer be your slave!” she said with some tears leaking down her eyes.
“Nami’s under my protection now, and I won’t let anybody — be they pirate, Marine, or anybody else — harm her or her village.” I declared seriously.
“That’s right! Nobody will hurt Nami-swan while I’m here!” Sanji said next while scowling so angrily that he bit his cigarette in two.
“Nami’s our nakama!” Usopp yelled, for a moment showing that despite his cowardly nature, deep inside he was someone who would die for his friends.
“Luffy-sama’s orders are absolute.” Tiche said coldly.
“What they said.” Zoro said calmly but just as seriously.
“You guys…” Nami muttered as she brought a hand to her mouth and let out a hiccup, looking one moment away from breaking out into a sob.
“Enough of this! Die!” Kuroobi yelled before launching himself forward as Sanji met him in the middle.
Seeing Chew about to do the same, I appeared before the bastard with Soru before kicking him lightly to the side and then turning to Nami and Usopp, who, looking at my expression, started shaking again.
“Nami, Usopp…”
“Aaagh! Please don’t say it!”
Ignoring Usopp’s pleas, I finished what I wanted to say. “Why don’t you two take care of Chew. Zoro here will handle Hachi.”
Shaking her head, a determined expression replaced Nami’s face as she nodded at me while tightening her hold on her staff.
“You got it, Luffy. Come on, Usopp!”
“Ack! Don’t pull me! I can walk on my own!” Usopp whined as Nami grabbed him harshly by the shirt and dragged him behind her.
“Then stop trying to run the other way, you coward!” Nami shouted back.
Stepping back to stand next to Zoro and Tiche, the former turned to me with a lazy smirk.
“I think you might have overestimated how tough that Fish-Man was, Luffy. He stopped screaming a bit ago and yet he still hasn’t returned.” Zoro commented calmly with a relaxed posture as Sanji and Kuroobi duked it out in front of us.
Blinking, I turned to him about to deny it before pausing and thinking more deeply about it.
‘No way! Arlong wouldn’t be so weak as to be taken down by a single Red Hawk, right? I mean that bastard Hody Jones took one without too much of a problem.’ I thought in denial, completely overlooking the fact that Hody Jones was hopped up on drugs that made him stronger and tougher.
A little nervous now since I still wanted to kick the shit out of him, I extended my senses with Observation while inwardly crossing my fingers.
‘Come on, be alive you bastard. I’m still not satisfied with kicking your ass yet!’ I thought in slight desperation.
Thankfully, I was able to sense his presence along with Hachi’s, even if it was really weak, meaning he was unconscious or close to death.
Despite wishing nothing but the worst for the bastard for everything he had done to Nami, death was too good for him. Death would be an escape for him, and I wanted him to suffer for his deeds, hence why I said I wanted to break his spine.
For someone like Arlong, who considered himself and all Fish-Men superior to humans, permanently crippling him like that would be the best punishment for him.
“Heh, you killed him, huh?” Zoro asked with a snort of amusement, taking my silence for confirmation.
“…No, though he is close to death.” I said with a shake of my head. “I can barely feel his presence.” I muttered with a small sigh.
“Hmph, took him out with one attack, huh? So much for the strongest pirate in East Blue.” Zoro said with some amusement.
“Might as well go and take care of Hachi. Seems Sanji is about done as well.” I suggested as we turned to see that, as I had just said, Sanji was overwhelming Kuroobi and had him on the defensive.
“I’ll return shortly then.” Zoro said, suddenly motivated, seemingly not wanting to be the last to finish his fight, as he ran inside the building.
Stretching my senses, I felt Nami and Usopp a bit farther away along with Chew, whose presence had weakened considerably.
Pleased that they seemed to be doing alright, I turned to Tiche, who was standing silently beside me making sure we were not taken by surprise.
“Tiche, could you go and grab Arlong for me? Bastard feels like he’s about to die and I don’t want to grant him that privilege.” I asked nicely, immediately getting a nod from her.
“Of course, Luffy-sama. I will return shortly.” Tiche said in confirmation before disappearing with Soru.
“And now we wait.” I muttered to myself as I watched Sanji finish his fight with a strong kick to the head, sending Kuroobi flying out into the sea.
‘This was kind of anticlimactic, I must say.’ I thought to myself, feeling a little underwhelmed at how easy everything had been.
=====
A Bit Later
While I was waiting for everyone to finish, I saw the villagers had indeed shown up but were stopped from entering Arlong Park by Yosaku and Johnny, who stood at the entrance.
Despite that though, they could still see what was going on due to the huge hole I had left where the former door was, and saw all the Fish-Men who had terrorized them lying down on the ground unconscious.
Sanji, after finishing his fight, got worried about Nami and Usopp, even if he didn’t mention the latter, and went to check on them. I let him go with just the instruction not to interfere in their fight.
While frowning and looking extremely reluctant, Sanji had still nodded in agreement before disappearing.
The next moment Tiche arrived back at my side with Arlong slung over her shoulders despite her small stature, and then deposited him on the ground in front of me as the sounds of fighting intensified between Zoro and Hachi.
Looking down at the burned and unconscious form of Arlong, I curled my nose in disgust as the smell of burnt skin hit me as I took in his injuries.
He had some bandages over his stomach, probably put there by Hachi in an attempt to help, but he didn’t look too good. If left as is, I had no doubt that he would succumb to his injuries, since it seemed my attack had also burned him internally.
“Tsk, you better thank Jinbe for getting to live, you bastard.” I muttered while looking down at him in anger and disgust before slotting in Healing Light and letting it work its magic on him.
As I was healing him, I watched the ugly burn marks on his body slowly healing and then turned to a watchful Tiche. “Hey Tiche, you wouldn’t happen to know how to cripple him from the waist down, would you?”
Tiche turned her full attention on me as I asked that and hummed for a moment in consideration.
“If his skeletal frame is similar to a human, then it shouldn’t be a problem.” Tiche replied calmly, causing a smile to break onto my face.
“Great. It shouldn’t be too different, at least for Arlong from what I know. So, do you mind?” I asked as I casually kicked Arlong’s body, causing it to turn onto its front.
“It will be my pleasure, master~” Tiche muttered quietly as she let a small, yet terrifying smile show on her beautiful face, one she only let out while in my presence, since I knew her true nature.
Expertly taking her dagger from somewhere on her body, Tiche held it firmly in her hand, and the next moment her hand flashed before she stored it away again.
‘Where the hell is she hiding that?’ I thought somewhat incredulously, not seeing any obvious bulges on her body that would indicate its location, before dismissing it.
Looking down at Arlong, I saw a small cut on his lower spine that didn’t look too bad and wasn’t even bleeding a lot, but given Tiche’s profession, I had no doubt Arlong was now a cripple.
Letting Healing Light fade away now that he wasn’t at risk of dying, and not wanting to heal what Tiche had just done, I stood back as we waited for the others.
We didn’t have to wait too long before Zoro, with an unconscious Hachi on his shoulders, walked out of the building. Going by his appearance, he had no trouble with Hachi at all, which I wasn’t surprised at all, as Zoro had really come a long way since we first met.
A moment after that, Sanji, Nami, and Usopp reappeared, with the latter two looking a bit roughed up but with triumphant smiles on their faces.
Nami, breathing a bit heavily and flushed from exhaustion, immediately caught my gaze with a tired but beautiful smile that froze for a moment as she noticed the unconscious form of Arlong at my feet. The next moment, her smile returned even bigger than before as she mouthed a small ‘thank you’ to me, which I grinned happily at.
“You’re free now, Nami.” I stated with a huge smile on my face, getting a teary nod in return as Usopp slumped to the ground next to her and Sanji lit up a cigarette with his own smile.
“Nami, before I bring this whole place down and destroy it, do you have anything you want to grab from inside?” I asked, bringing her attention back to me.
I saw as she was in the process of shaking her head before suddenly stopping and looking at me with a sudden intensity.
“…You know what? I’m sure Arlong won’t miss all the money and expensive things he has inside.” Nami grinned wickedly as she rubbed her hands before literally stalking up to me and grabbing my hand in a firm grip.
“Come on, Luffy~ Time to put that wonderful ability of yours to use~” Nami chirped before I was dragged inside with her while I smiled nervously and looked back at everyone to see their expressions.
They were all giving me amused reactions, with the exception of Sanji, who was biting his suit in a fit of jealousy, already used to Nami’s actions.
As I followed behind my beautiful Navigator, I heard some pings and silently pulled up the new notifications.

[Golden Goose]
|Common Familiar|
Yes, it really did lay some golden eggs. This otherwise regular-looking goose lays a golden egg every 24 hours. The egg is solid gold unless the Goose is fertilized.
Quickly reading the new pulls and what they did, I almost tripped on my own feet at what I got before I felt dread curl up my spine.
‘Crap, doesn’t that mean that I can technically give Nami her own Inventory ability? And that’s to say nothing of the literal Golden Goose.’ I thought nervously, already dreading Nami’s reaction when I tell her.
‘…I think I’m more afraid of Nami than any pirate in the Grand Line, if I’m being honest.’
