Chapter 54: Good Riddance
“Why won’t you die already!!” came the enraged, shrill shout from the Goddess as she kept throwing magic attacks at me, packed with enough magic to destroy a major city, only to be instantly devoured by Azathoth.
It had been several minutes since we had started our fight to the death, and the figure of the immaculate golden-haired goddess was nowhere to be seen.
In its place was a disheveled and bleeding woman, with her clothes torn in places showing the fair and perfectly smooth skin she had previously been so proud of, now riddled with various ugly cuts.
Despite appearances, the deity had some skill with a weapon, but was nowhere near calling herself a master of the art, and it showed as within moments Iblis had her on the back foot as she tried to dodge my blade. Iblis, being capable of harming the spiritual body along with the physical one, had taken her by surprise when my blade carved clean through her own made of light before making contact with her skin.
She had looked shocked at first before letting out a scream of pain as she quickly backed away while I continued my attack, managing to land more hits on her and causing her to panic.
I was holding back, of course, as I still didn’t know if she had something up her sleeve. So for the past few minutes, as Jibril murdered everything that came near us, I would only push her to a certain extent before pulling back and observing to see what she would do.
Proving that she was not a warrior whatsoever, the bitch had just started spamming me with magic attacks from a distance, and here we were.
“This is probably the first time that someone was able to truly damage her, Master, and with her already proving that she had little fighting experience, this is the best she can do,” Astra helpfully explained to me in a calm tone, not sounding worried at all while she maintained the barrier in the background.
‘Well, at least Jibril seems to be having fun,’ I thought with a bored tone as my gaze traveled to the maniacally laughing angel as she toyed around with her opponents.
“Hihihihi~ Come on! Come on! Entertain me some more!” Jibril yelled without a care in the world as she decapitated another fairy.
‘I should wrap this up. Maybe the next world we travel to will be someplace that everyone can let loose a little bit. I can tell that the others are getting a bit antsy, even if it diminished greatly now with the newly created Demiplane and they have some room to stretch their legs,’ I thought to myself, my mind going especially to the Bambies and Tier’s subordinates.
“With any luck, we just might,” Astra said in an encouraging tone.
Decision made, I casually absorbed the last attack sent by the goddess, who had clearly fallen into despair knowing her end was coming, and focused my attention on her as I started walking toward her.
“No! Stay away!” the goddess yelled in fear as she desperately backpedaled, only to come to a stop when her back hit the barrier around us, leaving her cornered.
“Nowhere to run,” I muttered with a shake of my head, truly disappointed at such a battle, and continued walking. “At the very least, you should face your death with some dignity,” I recommended, that being the most I was willing to do for her.
“W-Why are you doing this!? I’ve never done anything to you! I don’t even know you!” the goddess continued yelling, never stopping her attacks as I slowly inched closer to her and, more importantly, her death.
“True,” I said with a shrug as I sent an attack to the side. “You could say that you were just unlucky enough to run into something like me.”
“Bastard! I hate you!” she yelled in return as some anger returned to her voice and she stopped her attacks, causing me to raise a brow, curious to see if she would take my advice.
Proving how petty she was, though, and how out of options she probably was as nothing had worked so far, she started gathering massive amounts of mana inside her at an alarming rate.
“Tsk, are you really blowing yourself up?” I asked with some annoyance in my voice as I stopped before her.
“That’s right! If you’re going to kill me regardless of what I do or say, then I might as well take you and this world down with me!” she yelled with a crazed glint in her eye as she concentrated even more mana inside her.
“…You really are a petty bitch, aren’t you?” I asked coldly, my previous calm expression disappearing in an instant as I got ready to finish her off.
While such an attack wouldn’t really do anything to me, as I could just devour it like anything she had thrown at me, and even if she was able to release said attack it would prove useless with the barrier around us, the fact she was petty enough to try to destroy the world in the process—a world that she herself had helped create with the other gods—just cemented the kind of person she was inside.
A vain, rotten bitch who always wanted to have her way, and threw tantrums when she didn’t.
“Just die already,” I muttered in a dead tone before my sword hand flashed, still coated in Divinity.
The next moment the goddess froze before her head rolled down her shoulders and hit the ground with a dull thud.
Seeing that her kamikaze attack was now about to blow with no one to control it, I devoured her body, leaving only the head behind as it stared silently into where its body disappeared before slowly closing its eyes.
“Hmph, good riddance,” I let out with a small scoff before dismissing Iblis and then leaning down a bit and picking up the goddess’s head by the hair.
“Hey Jibril, I got a present for you,” I called out, turning to said angel, who had watched how everything ended with wide shining eyes.
“Huhuhu~ Master truly is the strongest~ As expected of him!” Jibril muttered to herself, unaware or uncaring that I could hear every word she said.
After a few moments of glazing me up, she finally turned her head to the head I was still holding of the goddess before my words finally registered to her and she let out a loud, exhilarated squeal.
“Hyeeeeee! Thank you so much, Master!” Jibril yelled at the top of her lungs, all but teleporting and taking the head from my hands as she looked down at it with a wide grin.
“Huhuhu, I’ll make sure to freeze it with magic and find the best spot for it, Master! I’ll treasure it forever, thank you!” she said, and uncaring of the head in her hand she launched into me for a hug.
Ready for such a thing to happen, though, due to the many times she had done it already and not wanting to get blood on me, I immediately held out my hand and placed it on her head, keeping her from reaching me.
It ended with the comical scene of Jibril futilely trying to reach out to hug me with a giant grin on her face as I held her back with a hand to the face.
“Stop that. I don’t want any blood on me,” I yelled a bit comically as I leaned back, since Jibril didn’t seem to hear me and was still trying to get closer.
It took several minutes, with a few bumps now decorating Jibril’s head when she didn’t want to listen, but she finally backed off and even sent the head to storage with her magic.
Looking around at all the mess we had made, my gaze settled on what remained of the numerous Fairies Jibril had killed, and a slight feeling of pity hit me at how brutally they had been ended.
Blinking, and realizing this was the perfect opportunity to teach Jibril something I had been meaning to for a while now, I smiled and turned to her, who was already looking at me. In fact, her gaze hadn’t left me for a while now.
Ignoring the thought that I would probably have a nightly visitor today, I coughed into my hand and continued. “Jibril, there’s something I’ve been meaning to teach you for a while now. Pay attention.”
“Yes, Master~” she immediately replied with a giddy expression.
‘This goes for you guys too,’ I transmitted those thoughts to the Bambies, Bazz-B, and Riruka, who perked up when they heard my voice.
“With you now being a genuine Angel, I thought it was only appropriate that I teach you about Miracles,” I explained calmly.
“A-A new magic!?” Jibril asked with a stutter as her obsession with knowledge surged forth and she started squirming in place.
“Is it similar to the Holy Magic I can now use, Master?” she asked eagerly.
“Yes, but unlike Holy Magic, Miracles allow you to borrow some of my power through a contract I will form, to perform immensely powerful magic, many times higher than basic Holy Magic. It is based around faith and grace,” I explained patiently, recalling everything I had learned.
“Oh! Is it similar to those stories I read about the God of the Bible from the planet Earth? Where his creations are able to perform miracles along with those devout and who believe in him?” Jibril asked, looking more eager as she immediately made the right conclusions.
Jibril, like I had promised, had been reading anything she could get her hands on from my collection, and one of those books just happened to be the Bible, so I wasn’t surprised she asked that.
“Yes. Unlike the God of the Bible, though, who only allowed his most faithful or his angels to perform miracles, mine can be performed by anyone I make a contract with. All you really need is to have some level of belief in me and that’s it.”
“As expected of Master~”
Ignoring her adoring and worshipful words, I continued, having a feeling that Jibril would have no trouble at all with this brand of magic.
“Furthermore, every time you want to use a miracle, you would offer some mana in exchange for my help. Casting such high-level Holy Magic requires an immense amount of processing power that I can either provide, or depending on the number of believers in a contract with me, I can use all of their combined computational power to handle the burden,” I said, going into detail about the subject.
Feeling most of the people listening in my head become confused, though, I figured I had gone a bit overboard and would explain it later to them in simpler terms. As for Jibril, despite her usual attitude, she was actually scarily smart, and I knew that she had understood everything.
“Ahem, anyway. I was actually planning to teach some of the others too, mainly the Quincy back home and Riruka, since unlike us supernatural beings, they’re mostly human and their avenues of getting stronger are lesser,” I concluded, knowing I had just made some of them very happy, especially the Bambies and Riruka at the thought of getting stronger.
It must have been on their minds that while everyone else was getting stronger with only some effort, they were lagging behind due to being human and were probably frustrated about it.
“Here, let me demonstrate. Mind you, I will be cheating slightly by making a contract with myself,” I continued before raising my hands and concentrating.
Under the combined stare of Jibril, and those watching back in the Demiplane, I muttered a simple word.
“Resurrection.”
With the barriers still up, the souls of the dead fairies were still present, so the spell didn’t have any trouble doing as its name suggested. In moments, the butchered bodies of the fairies slowly pulled themselves together and were healed before they finally opened their eyes as the spell finished its job and the golden glow surrounding them disappeared.
The fairies slowly came to as they floated back into the air, clearly puzzled as to why they were still alive, before freezing in dread at the squeal that came next.
“Amazing~ Master is truly the best!” Jibril screamed as she suddenly pounced on me and started rubbing her head against my chest.
“Thank you, thank you,” I said teasingly as I patted her head, using the opportunity to transfer the knowledge of Miracles I knew to her, before casting a gaze at the terrified and frozen fairies who were looking at Jibril in utter terror, not uttering a single word, believing that might help them somehow.
Luckily for them, Jibril was currently busy digesting the knowledge I had dumped into her head with a dazed look on her face.
“You may leave,” I said dismissively as I undid the barrier, and the next second the Fairies immediately made a run for it while screaming about getting away from the monster.
Looking at Jibril, who was now back to happily acting like a puppy as she rubbed herself against me, I shook my head fondly.
“Let’s get out of here. We still have a few things to do before we leave.”
“Oh, and I guess I still have to see how Makoto is doing too,” I muttered as an afterthought, forgetting him for a moment as we disappeared the next second, leaving the destroyed room the only sign of what had happened there.
=====
Days Later
On a whim, I had decided to leave Makoto be for a few days, giving him the chance to experience life in this world, only sending him a note that had appeared out of thin air in front of him and spooking him about the deed being done and that I would be back later.
I also gave him the news that he would no longer have trouble speaking with Hyumans, since the goddess who had cursed him was now very much dead. Now all he needed to worry about was not spooking everyone with his power, but that was his problem to handle for now.
I had become a bit busy the moment I had returned to the Demiplane, with everyone surrounding me and congratulating me on my victory before Riruka cutely demanded I teach her Miracle magic.
While everyone was getting everything ready for our departure, I spent the next three days teaching the Quincy, Riruka, and Jibril everything I knew about the subject.
With preparations finally done, though, the time had finally come for us to leave this world behind and continue on our journey.
Sitting up from bed, causing the covers to lower and revealing the naked form of a blissfully passed-out Jibril, I stretched for a moment before getting up and getting dressed after giving Jibril a quick kiss on her cheek.
Like I had expected, the same evening we had killed that bitchy goddess, Jibril had sneaked into my room wearing nothing but her single knee-high sock and a perverted grin on her face.
Figuring I had already caused her to wait more than enough, I gave her what she wanted and we fucked like rabbits all night, with the same repeating for the next few days.
I was just thankful that the news had thankfully not made its way to the others yet, or I knew I would become busy for a while.
Already knowing we were leaving today, I left Jibril alone in bed and teleported myself out of the Demiplane before teleporting again to Makoto’s location, finding myself in a hotel room from the looks of it, with the teen in question snoring on the bed without a care in the world.
Walking up toward it, I didn’t waste a single second and literally flipped the entire bed over with the teen still in it before breaking out into a laugh when I heard his girly squeal.
“Wahahaha~”
“Whhaaaaa! W-What’s happening!?” Makoto stammered as he quickly made his way back to his feet again before freezing as he spotted me standing there with my hands on my stomach from laughter and adopting an annoyed expression.
“Do you have to scare the crap out of me every time we meet!?” he exclaimed loudly with balled fists.
“Yep,” I said simply and chuckled as he let out a growl, straightening up. “Anyway, time’s up, kid. What’s your decision?”
‘What will you decide, I wonder?’
