The finished painting for this is almost entirely on a single layer, similar to the February 14th image from a little while ago.  Despite the more rough look, believe me when I say the effort and time spent between painting styles is basically the same.  I'll need to get used to SAI's current texture rendering and thought this approach might help.  I think it turned out well, all things considered.  The rough style does well for certain moods and I personally like pictures I can "feel".

Hopefully I will be able to successfully juggle this project with paid work as the year progresses.  It's been really nice not being at home and getting constantly interrupted or fought with, so I've been able to produce the illustrations more quickly than I could at home.  It's been a real nice change, and hopefully I will be able to keep your interest enough to make it possible to stay where I've been temporarily living since mid-November.  Conditions at home are...really not healthy, and it had gotten to the point where the stress from being there made me horribly physically sick.  I'd like to not repeat that, especially since things there have worsened in my absence.

Maybe if I'm lucky this project will be a little successful and I won't need to worry so much.
