I made the first/rough sketch in SAI2 as usual since that's still the program I'm most comfortable using.  From there I imported the file into Rebelle 5 and continued working.  This was made with the watercolor (wip1.png, most of the work) and gouache tools (wip2.png, refining and details) and the media simulation is pretty convincing.  It is, however, a huge resource hog to make that happen, but the results I feel are worth it.  The last WIP is what the finished image looks like with normal color blending mode as opposed to pigment blending mode.  Pigment blending mode is truer to how paints really work and keeps the colors much more vibrant as a result.
