Free Foundry MADventure - Rootbound Rot! (Patreon)

Hey all!

Today we're excited to release our first Patron Poll MADventure - Rootbound Rot!

We ran a poll in September asking the community to vote on two concepts for an APL (Average Party Level) 1 Foundry VTT Adventure, and Rootbound Rot was the firm winner.

My goal with Rootbound Rot was to create an introductory APL 1 adventure that could be an introductory D&D experience for new players, but was tonally different and arguably a bit more 'classic' adventure than our other APL 1 adventures - Lair of the Ooze Alchemist and Temple of Arinael.

"Once, Heartroot Hollow was a druidic sanctuary hidden beneath a twilight forest. When an exiled dryad named Corra Blightroot sought to prove her devotion to nature’s crueller cycles, she planted a cursed heart-root deep within the grove’s Wellspring. Now enormous brambles choke the halls, the druids are lost or corrupted, and the hollow teeters on the brink of collapse.

The adventurers must uncover what happened, learn how to perform a cleansing ritual, and finally summon Corra to defeat her once and for all, restoring the Wellspring and freeing the hollow."

Rootbound Rot includes:

A fully-formatted adventure journal

14 actors

14 items

3 Scenes

1 Roll Table

The adventure begins in the small town of Sleepiburgh, where a rather subdued Harvest Festival is coming to a close. Characters are able to sample the remaining wares, meet the townsfolk, and begin to uncover details on what ills have befallen Sleepiburgh and led to a dreadful season's harvest.

Having learned about Heartroot Hollow and the blight that has taken root there, the characters set off on their journey. Along the way they may experience a random encounter on the Duskdale Roads. Finally, they arrive at Heartroot Hollow and can begin investigating the source of the corruption!

Patrons are able to install the Foundry module for Rootbound Rot now by installing the manifest file, now available in the Monthly Exclusives section of the All The Things™ tier Master List!

This Foundry adventure will be free for all Patrons until the end of the month, after which point it will be available on our web shop and other marketplaces!

We hope you enjoy this first scheduled MADventure release!

Thanks for all your support, and as ever...Keep rollin' those 20s folks!Harrison, Alex, and Team MAD
