(LOST SCRIPT) Walter’s Vertibird Ride (Patreon)

Ever have that lingering feeling that you made something and just couldn’t put your finger on where you left it? Well, this is that, but another mystery arises: what was this for? The document was dated 12/12/15, meaning it predates the series premiere of True Vault Escapades by nearly 7 months! From that, I retraced my steps. I think this is where this mysterious script was for.

Given that I wrote the first 5 scripts of the show in 2014, I was likely coming up with ways to extend the series for future sequels. This was before I came up with Walter Meets Draco, and A Vault In Ruin, so I must’ve gotten started on something that didn’t go anywhere. In this version, we have Walter in a very different set of circumstances than the one we got after he left Vault 54: he’s having a friendly chat with a couple of Brotherhood Knights whilst on board a vertibird — something I don’t think our current Walter would do (willingly, at least).

That’s when it came flooding back: this was supposed to be an episode where Walter helps the BoS investigate what the heck was really going on in Vault 54, only for the bird to get shot down over none other than The Commonwealth. Yes, THE COMMONWEALTH. The details are fuzzy, but the detective emerges as the only survivor and traverses the strange setting, where he eventually meets up with (you guessed it) — Nick Valentine!

How that series of events was supposed to go is anyone’s guess, but it was supposed to be the long awaited meeting of the two private eyes. A meeting we still wish for today. What do you think? Is it still salvageable?
