New Civil Defense Ads (Patreon)

Just wanted to let you know that I’ve managed to scrounge up a couple more Cold War era adverts in the stream. Maybe you’ll notice the theme song, “Heads Up, America!” Playing in the background?

Both of these ads come from the “Stars For Defense” radio show, which ran from the 50s - 60s. Basically, the department of defense funded these variety music shows featuring stars of all genres to perform, along with advertising the importance of preparing for a possible nuclear attack.

I was only able to find two surviving broadcasts, so I hope I can soon find more to dig through and find more atomic-age goodies.
