Caribdis, fantastic job on v0.5! Once again you never cease to impress. I was entertained, interested, and literally laughing out loud throughout - especially during the college party scene(s) haha! I recently replayed „Once in a Lifetime“ and completely forgot how much wellplaced humor it had, but also eerie and thrilling scenes. And Eternum feels the same, only with better art quality. You did a really good job of making the honey-select-engine-based characters look alive and unique. Your first game was already good, but Eternum is even better. Just out ouf curiosity. Are you keeping open the possibility that there might be a sequel to Once in a Lifetime at some point in the future? Not necessarily a story sequel, but perhaps an entirely new story in the same world with the same cast or part of the cast.

Just finished playing all the way through for the first time. I wanted to say that, while what I think might've been the second chapter, the story arc involving Calypso's introduction, originally almost lost me, veered a bit too far into... I don't know how to describe it, into what felt like e-novel wish-fulfillment, everything else has been wonderful. I might even warm to it a bit more now, given the rest of the slow reveal about the true nature of Eternum has been drip-fed to me enough that I appreciate it more now than I did then, even though I mostly prefer other chapters' blend of real-life and game stuff. On a technical level, I like your jump cuts and use of very effective soundwork and music, especially for humor and punchlines. The romance was great, but I think it's how often I was genuinely made to laugh that really got to me most. You've got a great sense of chemistry, and I appreciate that all the girls mostly get along and are close enough friends that I can *almost* buy they'd be happy being one big family down the line, once the shock of their mutual fella seven-timing wore off. And I like their dynamics with Orion too. He's a bit of a cypher, but every individual character's romance felt unique, and sincere. I couldn't pick a favorite for sure, since they all have their ups and downs, but I admit that I found Luna *very* charming and appreciated her Dia de los Muertos story arc this release. And as to who I'd like to see more of, well, Dalia's a bit behind everyone else, but she got her big story arc with the gym competition, and with Alex on the bumper I think running into her here too is more than likely. I do kind of wish some intriguing in-game characters like Idriel or Calypso were planned to be included, but at the end of the day, I can't complain about who's already here. Also, while I was briefly worried it would be less than tasteful, everything with Chang has actually been handled reasonably well. I like that his weird charisma and misplaced sense of confidence actually works out for him sometimes as the story goes on, rather than just being the idiot who loses the trivia match, and his immediate love-at-first-sight romance with Micaela has been charming and cute, especially when Micaela herself, while the butt of a few jokes, is such a sweet and kind girl who deserves someone who loves her just the way she is. And while some of the antagonists are a bit... one-note, I do appreciate that Axel has been fleshed out a little, establishing that he's a product of his environment and giving him a bit of humanity in the form of undying love for a friend, even if said friend was a fellow scumbag. I did guess the last twist before the protagonist strung everything together, but that final montage was very effective, and I appreciate how many clues it brings up that I *did* miss. Looking forward to the new release, and to going back and playing your *other* game in the meantime! (I dunno what to say about the new release except that I'm lookin' forward to it and love Westerns, so I appreciate a seemingly planned visit to a Western-themed server.)

I recently got a new PC, so I ended up playing through the entire game from the start in order to experience the new content and... honestly, somehow the game was even more impressive and interesting than the first time I played. The story is very wish-fulfillment-y, but that's sorta a given with this type of game. Nevertheless, somehow in spite of this fact I've found every character incredibly interesting and charming. I share the sentiment of at least one other commenter that I'd like to see more of Dahlia, but the game still has lots of time to expand on her story and relationship with the MC.

Great job guys, I first didn't expect very much substance out of this game besides some cheesy power fantasy, but I was blown away by the storyline, laughs, character development, and the use of effects. Keep up the good work! I first played 0.4 and then continued in 0.5, this update was WOW!

I got this game reccomended on a forum for well written visual novel games, and man the jokes in the game are hilarious I've never laughed out loud to a game like this before, the writing in this game is brilliant. You really struck gold with this story!

Okay... I have to say what a ride! I hardly ever played VN games before. After I discovered Eternum by "accident" I went onto playing it without much expectation thinking this kind of games, and especially in such a niche thematic, are never taken as serious artistic endeavour. And oh my God was I wrong! I could not believe how absorbing such an experience could be, every character is so attaching and realistic, the storyline is coherent, the humour is sharp and what can I say about the music... just perfect! So much so that I felt compelled to play in full honesty, with my heart as if it was real. Making the "wrong" choices hit hard in hindsight but it felt so true. I don't know how you pulled this off guys. I have a hard time believing there's only one person behind this project and if it is, then you are well on your way to become the "Founder" haha. You are the first project I started supporting on Patreon, despite all the outstandingly good content there is out there. Kudos to make me cross the chasm! Little funny anecdote, after a recent encounter with a nice gal (in the real world) which did not quite pan out exactly as expected, I swear I could see her turning greyed out in my mind :D

Hello Caribdis, i played a lot of VN recently but this is different, this stunning story, the easter eggs is way too good, the characters are the best, and the animationst is the best ( even so much better the Being a DIK ). I never patron any of the VN as i played, but this, i must be...i never came back any of the VN if its not already done with the ending but in this definietly has to come back for the 0,6... keep up the good work man, i got a new fan

Excellent story, excellent writing, good use of pop culture references. Heck even without the "adult" stuff this would stand on its own... only one nitpick [and I only caught it because I work for a gunsmith]... bullets coming out of barrels don't look like that. The slow mo of the sniper shot showed the bullet with the case still attached coming out of Dione [despite what Cave Johnson said in the Portal Sentry Turret ad, it doesn't work that way, though I guess that could be another pop culture reference... and she DID say fired with its cartridge]. Like I said, my only real nit pick, and thats cause I'm unrepentant gun nut. Keep up the great work

i played the latest version in one sitting a couple of days ago after looking for VNs online. I did not think i would find probably my favorite of these types of games. The story is amazing, id play the game even without all the sex scenes. Way more cinematic than i thought it was gonna be. And the music choice is fantastic. no spoilers but, there was a moment when you are learning magic with Penelope and you see a moment from their childhood. That part almost made me cry, that's when i knew this game was different. Also shout out for having Luna, im mexican so it was cool to see her in the game.

I recently learned about its existence and I haven't started to investigate much about how the project began and I would like to know if there is a date scheduled for its full release or if it will end when the time comes. Yes, precisely. This is without a doubt the best AVN ive ever played, adult oriented or otherwise. The writing is absolutely fantastic. The scenery is so immersive. The alien and "fog" mystery legit hade me terrified.

Sorry if I splurge a bit here but I've just subbed, I haven't even finished the 0.2 content yet but I want you to know this game is amazing! As a bi girl I've noticed adult VNs for girls tend to be good at emotions and character-building, whereas ones built for guys are a lot better at the sex but the characters and story are usually flat as hell. You have absolutely nailed the best of both worlds. Already I've been laughing, terrified, literally in tears, and ofc very horny, and somehow with so much going on I've never felt bored of one part or like I'm just waiting for a different branch. The visuals are great, the soundtrack is great (fr every time a lyrical song comes on you know that scene is gonna hit hard one way or another), you never know what's coming next or even with who, I could go on... Idk I feel kinda weird for getting this passionate over an H-game but it shows how much you've put into this. Spaz over. Game is good

When i got 0.5 it auto transferred from 0.4, i had both versions installed, then when i seen on both versions (i kept em seperate in the overall files) had my progress, i just uninstalled 0.4 stuff, and kept all progress on 0.5

I have said this before but I will say it again, your storytelling is truly immersive, it goes deep with boundless layers that give an explosive richness to the MC and all other characters involved in the story. The music and sound effects you use to underscore your storytelling are amazing, and you always know how to leave us on dramatic cliffhangers, that leave you wanting for more. Your 3D animations are flawless and your renders are mindblowing. You use the right amount of humour to go along with your storytelling leaving your audience filled with the right amount of laughter to keep them happy. You have understood what it takes to pull on the right emotional heartstrings leaving your patrons wanting to come back for each episode you release. The only downside to all this is that we have to wait so long to find out what happens next.

After playing your game, for the first time i felt that it is too good to be consumed for free, so i chipped in a little :). And yeah, everything in this game is great: story and sex events around it, world building, characters, visuals, but most importantly the animations! Not only they are masterfully made, every detail carefully created, every movement looks natural, but also they are impactful since they are only for the most important thing. I was skeptical on music being vital for the playthrough, but fortunately i was proved otherwise. And of course, girls are fantastic. Luna is my favourite :)

I pause watching the novel between substantial updates so that I can experience the whole story from the start through “binge watching” (I prefer the description “immersive viewing” — I don’t consider that I “binge-read” books just because I can’t put them down). I have just finished 0.6.2 after taking a break after 0.3. I will re-watch the entire VN when there is sufficient additional story to play it all again!

If this were any other game developer, i would be a bit upset at what seems like a new Patreon policy, where if you support someone on the final day of the month...well, you just got 1 day of content, and get charged the same price the next day, on the first of the month. But that is more about Patreon than any game studio etc. That out of the way...i want to say thank you for the MASTERPIECE that is Eternum thus far. I have enjoyed games from NLT, and other visual novels such as Leap of Faith, Lust Theory, and even The Lust City. My only humble suggestion & request is this: perhaps by/near the time you complete Eternum, would you consider putting it on Steam? I am sure you have your reasons why i do not see it nor Once in a Lifetime, but my reasons are this: 1) I feel it would give you some new fans and revenue stream 2) It is, thus far, the best visual novel i have encountered, and i have played through some damn good ones. I would love to see it have as much exposure as possible. and 3) I am sure many of your supporters would be happy to have the permanent copy, some achievements to work towards for the completionist in them, to know they found every scene, every image, every easter egg possible. I feel silly even calling this a "game" , it is much more like a refined, magnificent work of art. And who says you couldn't continue to offer it wherever, whenever, and at whatever price point you deem appropriate? A public release, but perhaps the finalized Steam version could have a bit of bonus content and/or offerings? Just something to chew on. I personally dislike seeing less noteworthy games raking in the dough on Steam. Eternum should have credit in this community among the best of the best. If there is some awards place for fans to vote for you, please point us there! ;)

I started playing this game for....reasons....and now am completely immersed in the story. I love it! Youre doing a great job. As only one point of feedback, as a woman the weird blue nails for the main guy character especially during steamy scenes which has a focus on his hands is a huge turn off!! The use of butterflies in the dreams (and other places in the game) to adorn and represent the dark woman and altar, or soul / Psyche, is interesting, as is the dressing of Orion as Eros, Psyche's mate or consort. Have you read Joseph Campbell's book "The hero with a thousand faces?" I wonder how Orion's journey to find "true love" will play out in the game, in parallel with the story of Psyche and Eros/Cupid...., and the "Hero's Journey" cycle... well done, Caribdis! A game with real thought behind it is always better!

When I finally become more proficient with my 3D printers, especially the liquid resin one, I hope to be able to approach you with the idea of converting any of your amazing renders into a print. Then I just have to figure out If I want to try and paint it, or find a more skilled painter. I'm not bad with an airbrush, but the fine details in figurines can be hard to get the way you like. I love your work and I think some of your characters need to achieve action figure status. I currently have DAZ and Fusion 360 , but I've got a lot of learning to do.

Of course Im in love with other kind of AVN like being a DIK or Ripples (which has an spoiler in an specif screen during your game ROFL), but this one is marvelous, even if there is no subplot, I simply got in love with your game as soon as I started. Of course, I started in 0.6, like 1 week ago I wouldnt change a thing, not even adding minigames like other AVN, the game its marvelous and beautiful. Of course it could have a massive potential of being the best if you were to add these things... but sometimes you prefer story, music, visuals... like it is right now. I am not a fan of suscribing to anything... but your game is worth it man. Also I will take this moment of you attention to show you a little visual bug you have over there. In the lamborgini part when the penny photoshoot: When she is speaking about crossing an specific line (wink)... theres a moment in which the MC head shows under her armpit and his head is static and blurr... its not cool. It is almost nothing but... I wanted t mention it. I take off my hat for you Caribdis, go ahead. We got your back. Need translation to Spanish?

Not only is the story engaging and highly entertaining, but: * Each and every girl feels authentic and their diverse personalities give each of them a unique quality to become emotionally invested in * The visual storytelling is top-notch - camera angles, poses, expressions, all the extra "kinetic" effects like the whip-pans, shakes, zooms, etc. all contribute to the immersion and tone of the scenes * The animations are so much more than the "physical mechanics" of the moment. The looping animations give enough room to appreciate the subtleties of changes in eyeline, facial expressions, pacing, etc. rather than feeling like a dvd skipping in a single groove as so many others do * The time and attention given to facial expressions and their subtle changes line by line even in the static renders really help the characters come alive * Excellent writing/handling of tone throughout - you've managed to achieve a (seemingly) effortless blend of humor/heartfelt/action/suspense/mystery and..*ahem* "tension" ;) * The fact that due to all of the above, this game hasn't needed to resort to tedious minigames to keep us engaged. (Beyond fun scenes like the contest at the cafe' or playing 'Who Am I' with Luna that integrate into the scene and don't yank you out of the immersion) I could go on and on, but I'll end the fanboy rant here. Just wanted to give specific props to let you know that your hard work and creativity is appreciated & that the "little things" ARE noticed!

My jaw is still on the floor after finishing .7. Forget the adult stuf this is genuinely one of the best story driven/narrative games I have ever played, I am INCREDIBLY hooked. I laughed, I cried, I screamed. Andromeda and the "ghost house" legitimately had me scared, the robots searching for infections had me cracking up. This has been an absolute PLEASURE since i found you at .5 release, I cannot wait to see what comes next and I am once again telling you to pitch this to Netflix as a black mirror special or adapt this to a novel. Your writing skills are PHENOMINAL. I haven't been this hooked on a game in ages, you deserve all the success. Way too many patreon AVN creators milk releases to the 10th degree for that sweet subscriber money. You have a ton of respect for your fans to produce something of this quality (renders and animations and writing are all stellar) at this rate. I will variate the words like dick, pussy and so with synonyms and I will leave all the texts in Spanish quoted with [DICKref] as a variable and [PUSref] for you to code in any of the possibilities because me, as a native Spanish speaker can tell you that using the same translation for Dick all the time makes it boring (that's why I play these games in English and hate Spanish translations). You know, I had to laugh a little just now. Had some time to kill, messed around on youtube a bit and found myself watching a dozen videos discussing the quality of several adult visual novels. From multiple different channels. Are you aware that your art tops most lists? Deservedly so, I might add. That said, I actually wanted to mention something else. You have a good grasp on narrative threads. Impressively so. If you'd ever consider letting others take a peek behind the scenes, I wouldn't mind that at all. I think it could be fascinating to learn how you write. What was the initial kernel of an idea you started with? Did you outline everything from the get-go? How much did you wing it? Who was -your- favorite character? Who was difficult to write? Did community feedback influence you? (Though I suppose that one could be a bit touchy.) Something along those lines. Just... your creative process in general has me curious. With all the little nods to earlier scenes and details, the callbacks, it's great. Really impressive. (And this curiosity is coming from someone who explicitly avoids 'making of'-parts of movies, because I just can't be bothered to care.)

Random thought last night while I was half-asleep: The animation of 'entering' Eternum has always fascinated me. It's slick, it's well-paced, it's flawless. Just impressive. And for some reason, my mind went like: Yeah, but what if someone manipulated the gear? Or something along those lines. We see this animation quite a lot. It never really gets old, but what it does get? Familiar. And suddenly, bam, traveling through a bloody-fleshy, wiggling, horrifying hellscape, as if crawling down someone's throat. Wouldn't that be disturbing. And since -I- don't know what to do with that mental image, I'm just sharing it here.

You know... in an attempt to bridge the gap between now and the release of season 2 for Projekt Passion/the next update of Eternum, I've been playing through a lot of other AVNs and such. And so far, after burning through a dozen of them, I've gained even further appreciation for Eternum. I often read 'this is the best VN I've ever read!' in comment sections of other VNs. And dear me, I always get the itch to recommend this one, with thoughts along the lines of 'if you thought -that- was good, try this one'. It's not about the visuals or animation quality. Not for me, anyway. It's cheesy AF, but with Eternum, I'd like to say you can -feel- the passion and care behind it. I've followed up on so many recommendations by others. And what I found most was... typos galore, off-kilter pacing, immersion-breaking nonsense, aggravating characters, plotholes the size of smaller moons... Everyone has their own tastes and standards, obviously. I'm not begrudging anyone their favorites or likes. But for me, Eternum just... clicked. In all the right ways. Which is a bit of a problem, you know? Because I stepped into this space for the first time and stumbled upon it rather early. And if you get into a new space and start off with the leading number one, everything else inevitably feels like a step-down. Because it is. But I suppose that's a good problem to have. So I guess... thank you for spoiling us, Caribdis?

Quick question: Is there any way to completely delete all saves? I delete all save files from save folder but in game all saves still there, even after I delete whole game folder and re-download it.

You'll habe to delte them from the %appdata% folder from Windows, they're permanent files that RenPy stores there The other manual alternative is to load the game and press the Delete key on your keyboard when you're hovering a save with your mouse

And considering the -raving- success of Eternum, that's not gonna get less, is it? So I guess I wonder how your time management skills progressed. If they were stressed in recent months/years. To be honest, how could anyone hate or even dislike the game? There is a LOT of content, the writing is good, and the only ones who might not like it would be those who don't like the option to just be with multiple women at the same time without it causing conflicts with other women who are interested/involved with the MC. That's really the only thing missing, having at least some of the women deciding they want the MC to be exclusive with them at some point, or causing some paths to split based on decision(not just on-path or off-path). Just keep up the good work.

I think there is a great advantage in Eternum game, which is the interaction between girls. After experiencing appropriate NB (in our country, this is the ultimate compliment) plot development, some relaxed and enjoyable interactions and transitions appear very beautiful, especially the parts where girls joke with each other, haha. However, after experiencing the final plot of the previous version, waiting for Cari updates has become very agonizing, and I can't wait to play version 0.8.

I think Eternum is by far the best VN/game I have ever had the pleasure of playing and I'm in my 50s. I reached out to you once before about your renders and characters because I really like how you have developed them. Eventually I'll hit you up to try and 3D print one of them for you in a favorite action pose of mine or something. I'm not too far off from my goal of being able to print figurines I've rendered, or someone else has, but I promise I'll let you know when I have worked through my learning curve. I'm close, but being a working dad, Fusion, DAZ, Prusa, and Z brush are a lot for me to master quickly. I'm giving it hell, so I will get there. Then I will have to polish off my painting skills, but I used to do that with other miniature modeling back in the stone age. I can't wait for the next installment and yes, we are all chomping at the bit for the next installment. Please take your time though and don't compromise the quality. Certainly made me chuckle and shake my head. I get distaste for something. Hey, maybe the game engine and resulting graphics is not up to your taste. Maybe you're into country music and everything else is trash. Maybe harem is the WORST. THING. EVARZ. But even then, there's ways to express that in a less... clownish way? Less hostile, to be sure. But maybe that's just me. I never quite understood why so many people on the internet think they get a free pass to say and do whatever they want without consequences. Sure, sometimes it's not the poster suffering those consequences. Does inflicting malice upon others make it any better? Hell no. People are just strange, foreign creatures sometimes. Holy fu..ing shit… this is the best AGN I have ever played and I have played dozents of them!!! Here is my feedback: Positive: Best Soundtrack of all AGNs. The scene where Nova is at the phone and is told that the Onepiece episode doesn´t air and the music of Invincible from WoW plays is Chefs kiss!!! The Character building is also top Tier. Each Girl has its own personality and they all look very different from each other. My favorite is Luna, Nova as Jinx second place and Annie third place in my ranking. I am more the small breast type of guy (I know that Lunas breasts are big, but her face ist the most beautiful thing I have ever seen^^) I could praise you for hours, but I think that the few negative points I have are maybe more useful, or maybe not :) Negative: All the Girls start as very distinctive personalities, but when they are at the point where they have sex with the hero, they all become very similar. Personally I would prefer when they all had their own preferences. Alex and Penelope love it hard, great. But from a Girl like Luna I would have expected to be more the roantic type of Girl, not a cum-slut (it even comes out of her nose...). The same with Annie. More diversity in the way the girls wanna have sex would be great. Maybe one Girl doesn´t like to be dominated? Or do not like it to be fucked like an animal? Or one do not like to have hard sex or do love it all romantic and hates fucking and wants to "make love"? Consequences… this is my second and last critique Point. It is a bit Immersion Breaking that he can have all the Girls... no necessity to choose one over the other. Maybe on of them wants to have an exclusive relationship? Maybe one is seeing the hero fucking another Girl, runs away and quits the relationship? I would love to have meaningful consequences and decisions. To get all of them is a bit boring. i would love to see that when it comes to the point of commiting to a relationship that you have to choose, at least with some girls. But man, I would never had spent over 300 Dollars for an AGN when it was not the best of all time :) Sorry for my bad english, I am german speaking.

as far as the harem dynamics go I would highly recommend checking out Cozy Cafe for inspiration, it's one of the most believably written harem dynamic I've seen in an AGN to date (and it's pretty good otherwise)

Just seen the reply, sorry for the late response. Cari's previous game is called Once In a Lifetime (hence the url name). It might not have the same render quality as Eternum (due to both being Caribidis' first game and its engine being Honey Select 1, which is not as good as HS2), but it's been a favorite of mine for a while, second of all time before playing Eternum, right after My Bully is My Lover from NiiChan. Story is amazing, characters are amazing, endings are amazing. So if you want an incredible experience while waiting for v0.8 of Eternum, I highly recommend checking OiaLT. I believe that's also a testament to Cari's quality as a game developer and writer, at least in my opinion, if I have both of his games in my top 3 AVNs.

I just finished the available story and although I am a very reluctant commenter, for this gem in VN I have to make a rare exception. You have created the best game in this genre I have so far played. I already loved your first game (which brought me to Eternum), but this one is even better. In every story arc, I think "Wow, this is the lovelist, sexiest, sweetest girl", only to have changed my opinion a little later. Hence, I can not choose between them (therefor very happy for the harem route ;) ). But what makes this game this great is your story, which is intriguing and funny and your world building. Kudos. On PC, I normally download the entire new version on the same folder as the old one. The save will carry over into the new version, then I can delete the old version.

Um, Just a little thing, Having a blast with 0.8, but there is 1 jarring story/plot detail in the text that keeps messing with me. Hopefully somebody mentioned it before me and I just could not find it, but... All through 0.8 They keep refering to the Roman Faction Nancy is the Empress of as.. the ERE, not the WRE. She is Empress of the Western Roman Empire (WRE), not the Eastern Roman Empire (ERE). Side note: She was so successful winning the war, and growing the WRE, spreading it to multiple servers, I'm confused why she has not abosorbed the ERE faction into her WRE on that initial server, and making it just the RE (Roman Empire).

I supported before and i must confess the reason i am here now is because of this .8 update. I prefer models as close to realistic as possible but yours are still beautiful. I also prefer them to not be completely shaved. Anything between shaved and full bush (also not a fan) is good. Recently discovered Eternum and quickly got stunned by the quality. This game is definitely worth supporting. Honestly, Eternum doesn't have the "top" level of graphics among AVNs (the girls are still super attractive though) but its writing is absolutely one of the best. We've seen too many AVNs with poor writing which basically ruined their nice graphics, so Eternum is quite a refresher. I really hope the momentum could press on until the finale of the story - it will be a legend in my perspective. P.S. I am eager to see more scenes of all the girls (especially Nancy and Penny)! And I hope there will be scenes of Idriel, too!

I played OiaL on Itch and thought, "this is nice, cant wait to see where this creator goes next game."Thinking you'd just make another of that. The elevation in quality, in writing, in...fully everything about this VN is astounding. I played the free sample on Itch up to v.8, had to give you money properly, monthly. The criticisms I can find are nitpicks.

Eternum is absolutely wild! Felt like I was stuck in Kredon for real. The story’s been fire so far—amazing pacing, great soundtrack, and packed with hilarious memes and netas (my favorite render is the Heist, The Stanley Parable also made my day). I’ve already played through it twice and I can’t stop thinking about the gals(Luna&Calypso&Alex yesyesyesyesyes) and the plot during the day lmao. Easily the best AVN I’ve ever played. Huge thanks and keep good work! Looking forward to the story in Hyril’ar! Also huge thanks to the Chinese translator! Don't know how else to phrase it but this sets the bar. The story is always king, then the artwork, pathing and coding. This game is dialed, sexy and the dev paid attention to details that make it a long term money making project. I was part of the team working on TES4 and 5, different engine, corporate enviorn, whole different audience and rules, etc. But some things are a constant, just as human nature is fickle. The more impactful choices a player can make that determines an outcome, the better. It's a bitch to create numerous paths, organize and then code them but I'll be damned if this game hasn't proven seamless to date! Kudos all around!

I've been reading Japanese visual novels for a long time, and having just started reading more American ones, eternum is easily the best visual novel I have read. The fact that each character has depth to them and i really love how well your represented Lunas Hispanic side as someone who lives in a hispanic neighborhood. I can't wait to see the end of eternum and whatever you plan to do for the future. The comedy and story lining has been incredible thank you for making this free and even more for putting so much care into it <3

This is the first game of this type I've downloaded, and it's turning out to be very good. I see that this one keeps getting updated, but it's not finished yet. I had a couple of questions: 1) When a new version comes out, do I lose all previous progress? 2) Do new versions usually only work on the content where the previous version left off? Or do they also improve things from the earlier parts of the game, such as changes to the story text, music, improved animations, etc.?

1) Nope! The save data is saved in a text file that the game looks for. If you’re worried, you can backup this save file, but I’ve never had issues with it. 2) Most of the updates include new content, but also feature improvements if they’re mentioned. I don’t know the exact ratio of improvements to new content. Welcome to the community, and I hope that helps!

i absolutly love this game. i've played through what i have now 4 times. it has a great story line. i often wonder if sience in real life would ever come up with something like whats in this story. i know they already have vertual reality but this is beyond that. this is AI taking over the 5 sinces. making it seem like they are actualy there and not simulation. that would be cool.

In theory, it is possible. It would require quite substantially more neural modification than a simple chip, as it would require either remote modification of the processing centres of the brain, or substituting input to the receptors. We are already seeing progress towards the latter of these goals in the form of prosthetics development, with basic-level replacement of sensory input in the early stages of R&D. However we are almost certainly still several decades, if not a century or two, away from anything like what the in-game Eternum purports to be.

What Eternum offers is a "Alternate Reality" personally I don't think this would ever be possible and if it were it'd be hundreds of thousands of years away, the closest we could get to it is vr where our senses are altered to think that we are in another world as in "full dive vr" as mentioned in my previous comment, though i do hope what Eternum has would be possible in the near future but i highly doubt it is possible at all.

actualy it's closer then you might think. they already have weapon systems operated by neural links, but the operators are in full control of their faculty. in other words they are not unconsiense. but your probebly right it may not be possible. but who knows. at one time we thought the world was flat but we found it's round. we thought we could only travel with horses we now have cars. we never thought we could talk to people on the other side of the planet, and people said if god wanted us to fly he would have given us wings. yet here we are flying around the world. sience keeps coming up with new and amazing things. we have cell phones we have been to the moon we have bioprinters, machines that can create human organs. though it may not be probeble it may be very well in the scope of the possible. but it may not be in out time may not be alternate reality it may be a computer generated reality.

This is actually a fairly reasonable dev time for a game with this amount of polish and content. And at the very least with the progress updates there is some idea of when you can expect the next release, the majority of AVNs either fall off or their dev time is so long you entirely forget about them. Being a Dik for example is currently at 14 months between releases and that dev time will only increase as the branching storyline gets more complicated, with an expected 4 more episodes to come that could potentially be ten years of development. Halfway House by AZ develops at a glacial pace, beautiful renders and all but exceedingly slow. Eternum has been pretty regular, don't take that for granted.

Holy shit! This update was absolutely worth the wait. The story just keeps getting better and better, and everything is really coming together in a satisfying way. I’m hoping that as the MC, we’ll continue to grow even more powerful on a level similar to Neo from The Matrix. I’d also love to see the harem route develop more naturally, with each girl gradually becoming aware of and accepting both the MC’s power and his feelings. I really want more scenes involving the girls and the MC, and eventually even a moment where they’re all together at once. The final scene in version 0.9 was an insane cliff-hanger please just don’t kill off any of the girls we’ve grown attached to so far. I can’t wait for 0.10. Honestly, this series feels like it has the potential to expand into multiple seasons, with new enemies and bosses along the way. Eternum already feels like a universe full of hidden worlds, and it seems like it could keep going strong for a long time.

Just found this game myself and also want to say it's absolutely incredible. Great story, beautiful LI'S and the most stunning animations I think I've ever seen on any of these games. Period. My only question is in the sound area are there going to be any moans or sexual noises added at any point? Admittedly it seems strange to me hearing all the other sound effects already there and having no vocal effects of any kind. Just curious (and very hopeful) that this is in the pipeline at some point. Either way though....just incredible work keep it up.

I literally never thought I would be so obsessed with an AVN. Whoever you are Caribdis, you rule, you mad genius you! No exaggeration, I liken it with the quality of games like Dragon Age in every sense except for the obvious differences (one being an AVN and one being an open world RPG lol). But seriously, the storytelling and worldbuilding are PEAK. I am so invested in the story and attached to the characters. The spicy scenes are unmatched and I feel like they complement the story perfectly, in some AVNs I have read they kind of hog the attention from the rest of the novel or they are essentially the sole focus and purpose of the AVN (which is fine, but not what I am looking for). Honestly Caribdis I am just having so much fun playing it. Life is so hard and cruel most of the time, it's important to have things like this to love and enjoy (and sometimes obsess over) haha. I have so much respect for your raw talent and your dedication to continuing to put out the highest quality gameplay that you can for your fans. I have never been upset or impatient to wait for updates because I know you are putting your heart and passion into it, and it gives me something to look forward to, and I find that my things to look forward often dwindle in the capitalistic rat race hell I ( and many others) live in. I just finished 0.9 and you nailed it again. The humour is exactly my cup of tea and yeah, there might also be some tears involved, especially with the last couple of updates. This is one of the best VNs, I ever played, maybe THE best, even without the adult stuff. Talking about that, the adult scenes are the best I have ever seen in an AVN, so well-made. Now, that we are coming closer to the end, I don't want it to end. But on the other hand, I want to know how everything plays out.

As for starting over... prior saves work fine; if you want 4 / 5 hearts for each girl it's best to start from scratch.... great game either way!!!

I’ve just finished the 0.9 story, and I really want to say how incredible this update is. Calypso’s route absolutely stole the show—her personal arc was outstanding, and paired with the farewell moment’s BGM and the updated character UI, it hit so hard that it’s honestly difficult to put my praise into words. Luna’s route was also everything I’ve ever imagined for her—so perfectly done. Respect, Caribdis. From the elven kingdom of Hyrilar all the way back to the real world, the storytelling stayed logical and coherent, and the dialogue consistently matched each girl’s personality. You’ve maintained the same high standard from 0.1 all the way to now. Can’t wait for 1.0!

One more thing must be added: the General Arannis segment was phenomenal. The way the scene, dialogue, and BGM came together was honestly perfect, and you portrayed the royal guardian as such a rich, fully realized character. Knowing I can experience storytelling like this genuinely gives me a little more courage to keep fighting through real life.

I first found Eternum a year ago right after update 0.8 came out, and I couldn't believe how good it was. I have patiently waited for update 0.9 to come out, and it was better than I ever could have imagined. I truly don't know how you do it, you have made me feel connected to every character in Eternum. Every line of text, every random thing that happens, every side character, every irl reference, it is a masterpiece. I can tell based on the story that it is somewhat nearing the end and I can't lie I am pretty sad about it. You and whoever else you work with are unbelievably talented and deserve your flowers. All the characters are written so well. (Luna is my favorite) I will be sad when this journey comes to an end but I am really enjoying the ride. i just finished 0.9, playing in two parts yesterday and today. Let's just say i did not get much done at work today because Eternum was literally all i could think about lol. The ability to feel this sense of genuine anticipation and excitement is something i believed I had lost growing up, and experiencing it again through your art makes me more grateful than i could possibly put into words. This still sets the bar. I'd love to see it go on Steam, but ONLY after it's complete. There's just been too much great work to NOT immortalize it, and I'm good with paying for it twice. Drifty is about the only other dev I'd feel this way about. There are probably 6-7 exceptional devs out there who went the Indie route and avoided Steam as much as they could (for valid reasons) and I'll support them continuously as opposed to bouncing between releases.

So, uh, I'm replaying the whole VN from the start (it's a phase I go through every few months) mostly to straighten up my playlist of Eternum songs after finding Caribdis' 0.9 tracks the other week, and stumbled into a rabbithole that has me theorizing and I've nowhere else to go but here to post about it, so to anyone else obsessed with Cari's work and who'd like to read the rantings of a mad man, please proceed but be warned, spoilers ahead. So at the Reminscediscombobulator in Warthogs, I accidentally clicked 'Yourself' instead of 'Penelope' when the choice of whose memories to view arises, and lo and behold, Caribdis hid something there. It's brief and glitchy, but an image graces the screen of child Orion standing with the Founder in Eternum HQ (from 0.1 when Orion gives us the background of what Eternum is, the room with the giant hologram globe) with the Founder placing his hand on Orion's head. After that, the professor mentions nobody can see anything and asks if we received special training to guard our mind. What? Tack onto this my recent dive into the naming conventions Caribdis uses and my brain is back in theory mode. We're told that Idriel created the three weapons of Atlas (the titan who holds up the sky), being Hyas (in mythology, son of Atlas), Dione (often said to be the mother of Aphrodite), and Calypso (a nymph, also daughter of Atlas, lives in Ogygia, doomed to fall in love with those who can never stay with her). Beyond cool sounding names, I think Caribdis is hiding some things here. The MC's default name is Orion, which for this is important because in mythology, Orion was a hunter who killed Hyas. Also, in myth, Orion was said to be extremely handsome but lustful to the point of pursuing the sisters of Hyas and Calypso so... Yeah, apt name for the MC. Now Dione on the other hand, is the mother of Aphrodite who in turn is the mother of Eros (who Orion dressed up as for Halloween, meaning Caribdis is well aware who Eros is), who is the husband of Psyche, who is brought up in the Rockefeller Gala. The whole syndicate asking "can a man become a god?" thing. Interesting point here, but Psyche herself in myth was mortal before marrying Eros and then betraying him, only for her husband to forgive her and help her become a god. Also fun fact, their union created the goddess of pleasure, Hedone, which is where we get the word Hedonism from. Psyche also means "Soul" either in reference to life or to the dead who have passed on. The Roman word Anima (as in 'the Radiant') also means "Soul" or "Life-Force" so there's a definite, purposeful connection there between Psyche and Anima the Radiant. All of this has the gears in my brain turning. Does this mean that Anima is Psyche who may also be the imprisoned true Idriel? Idriel mentions being unable to die as the scariest thing in existence, is this from experience as Psyche having been granted immortality? Does this make the Founder Eros? If the image of him and child Orion actually happened, is he our real dad? Are we... Hedone (this one's way out there, I know)? But then why is the Founder pursuing the Gems of Doom (or GoDs for short?)? Unlocking the Gates of Acheron can (presumably) make a man a god based on everything we've been told, Acheron in mythology being the river entering the underworld that souls must pass through. Having the gates closed would presumably prevent souls passing on, so why does the Founder want through? Then there's the whole Idriel chained in Limbo (which in greek mythology is the fields of asphodel which would be beyond the Acheron, but before Elysium or Tartarus, aka heaven or hell). All of this is a bunch of loops and chains of things that come aggravatingly close to making some sense but just don't fit together in a perfect way... It's both aggravating and exhilarating. If you read this far, before you ask, yes, I'm okay. My every day life just leaves a lot of 'quiet time' for my brain to overthink things (plus theorizing in my head makes time go faster at work). Feel free to reply that I'm crazy or your own theory or whatever... EDIT: Throwing this in here, another weird note on the Greek mythology part of things, in the flashback to Orion leaving England in 0.6, right before the Annie scene, Orion's father says to tell "Nancy, Talia, and Persephone' he says hi. At first, yeah, drunk dad misremembering names, but specifically saying Talia, mythologically speaking one of the muses, and Persephone, daughter of Demeter and husband of Dis/Hades. Bit weird your dad uses two Greek names that are not common in modern times practically at all... Lends credence in my brain to something weird going on with Greek mythology here. Also, also, something weird Idriel says when mentioning that the being unable to die is the worst thing for a soul (paraphrased), she said "He did" in reference to someone else fearing death previously. Presumably the Founder, but adding another layer of questions as to why he wants the Gems of Doom (unless they do not in fact open the Gates of Acheron and instead merely bestow true immortality to someone? But then why mention the Gates at all in the quest for the Gems, why not just leave them as 'macguffins' to decide the next owner of Ulysses? That would be incentive enough for most people to seek them out without having a strange 'in-game' quest tied to opening some doors that nobody seems to know anything about.)

I found myself laughing, smiling, and engaged, the story, the art, the way its tied together. I found myself playing 9.5 for three straight days and could not stop. I upgraded my membership as its clear how much thought, effort and care you put into this. This is how I will show my thanks for such a brilliant and engaging exeprience, you deserve it. Caribdis I have already expressed with great enthusiasm and effusion my absolute delight over your wonderful creation. I tend to be private of IRL but I want to add a little more gratitude to you. I was diagnosed during a routine physical with aggressive and fast growing prostate cancer last July and had it removed in November. Within a single year my PSA count went from a normal 2.3 to abnormal 6.0. Two weeks after the 6.0 reading it was at 6.2. While obviously not at the top of the chain, one of my sincerest wishes was to be around for the completion of your masterpiece of Eternum. It seems Idriel was listening to my lament and prayers. I came through my surgery with no issues and pathology confirmed that there were no remaining traces of cancer present (e.g. jumping to lymphatic system etc.) Coincidentally I received that news the same day I was able to download 0.9. LOL I've been to my second checkup recently and 0 PSA or other indicators. I am so very pleased I'll be with you to the end of this beautiful and ever engaging story. Thank you so much for another reason to stay besides family and loved ones. Shout out to all men out there, please have regular physicals no matter your age. Prostate cancer is one of the easiest to catch early and easiest to treat when done so. Take care of your health.

But this game somehow makes every female character uniquely charming, and I’m totally hooked on them. (Maybe it’s because I don’t like overly curvy figures or really large busts.) Of all the avn games I played. This is actually the only one that made me sometimes skip the ykyk scenes because I was too hooked with the plot and story. It’s not that the scenes are bad, it’s good. But the story is just too good that I can’t stop playing. I’m just tapping my screen but playing this game feels like escaping the real world, very much like Eternum in the Eternum game hahahaha. I’m not ready for this game to end, I hope we’re still far from the ending. Thank you for this game you created, we appreciate all the efforts you put into it. I’m still working on upgrading my membership, but there seems to be a problem with the payment methods in my region. But anyways, I hope there’s more to this game that you already gave us. I usually won't comment on things, but playing your games made me want to come here and say that not only was once in a Lifetime was such a fantastic game that it had me saying, You need to take my money because I should not have been able to play that mastercraft of a game for free. It had me so immersed, wanting to play more even after it was wrapped up. All the characters' personalities, like stabby references from anime, made me so excited to see more experiences the story had to offer and what more to the game there was rather than the spicy content. Even now playing your newest creation, there are so many references. and fun things to see with the details and the even better personalities each character has. The game has me hooked way too hard, and I just want to thank you so much for making this game. I hope you keep making projects after this. 10/10, one of the best of the type of game I've ever played. I have been nothing but blown away by how immersive this visual novel has been. Before Eternum I had honestly completely written off the genre, but I have been completely humbled by the laughs and literal tears that this story has brought out of a genuine place in my heart. As someone with autism I frequently find it extremely easy to pick apart a story and predict where things will go, as well as pick up on extremely unrealistic patterns of behaviour in characters when my suspension of disbelief has not been satisfied... Kudos, Caribdis. I seriously haven't been able to predict most of the twists (except for a few inevitable ones) and despite the situation the main character finds himself in being relatively bonkers I have been able to suspend my disbelief every step of the way. I look forward to the conclusion and I will absolutely be paying full price once it releases so that I can ensure you see the fruits of your labour, at least from my small corner of the world. I hope to be able to afford a regular subscription soon, as well. Thank you for your hard work, and for sharing this wonderful world with us.

The way you used those shifting visions to show how the mansion used to look and what actually happened there completely hooked me into the story and kept me in constant suspense. It felt like watching a high-budget movie where you slowly uncover the whole history of the place. And that sudden peak moment when the illusion fades and Magnus is instantly revealed as a skeleton because so much time has passed - that was just brilliant! Weird nitpick of mine but after ver 0.9 shouldnt it progress to 1.0 next or 0.95 for example since the game is still in development? Ver 0.1 would indicate an earlier version of the game based on natural numeric progression. I know it doesnt really matter, its just an OCD thing I guess.

That's not how it works in software development. It is not a percentage number of 1. In 1.2.3 you would read the first number as a major version (for instance a full initial release), the second number as a minor version (let's say a chapter update, new features, but not a major release) and the 3rd one as a patch (so a bugfix or whatnot). So 0.10 is perfectly viable number that is read zero dot ten. It's not a financial number or tenth part that you can shorten to 0.1. 0.10 is not 0.1. After 0.10 you can have 0.11 or 1.0 not 0.95 (that would mean 95th minor version).

I understand it's not a percentage. I guess I should've used 0.9.5 as a better example version. That doesn't change the fact that 0.1 is a regressed version indicator. It was used in September of 2021 by carabidis to denote one of the earlier versions of the game. Reusing the version number through regression to denote a more advanced update doesn't make sense.

I've loved both Once and Eternum and I've been anticipating the update for quite awhile now. I just have one question though: Why are the progress reports locked? Wouldn't it be better to have update and progress info available to public view? Art previews being locked makes sense, but I'd think that the text be available to anyone so they can see what's going on with development would potentially attract and/or engage more people. So i did a quick calculation. When entering every post update in a coordinate system ,where the y axis is the percentage left until release and the x axis is the number of days which 0.10 is in developement for, the datapoints can be approximated fairly closely by the function f(x) = 100 -0.3x. When you then look at where the graph hits 0 percent left until 0.10 it should be about december 30th or 105 days from now. Ps: Would provide visuals but i cant post images so if you want to fact check go into desmos and try it out i guess. There was a comment a few weeks ago from which i took the info of when the post was updated and to what percentage . Pps: Great Caribdis , i need 0.10 really bad. Eternum is a masterpiece. This has to be the best AVN there is. Nothing comes close in my opinion. The storytelling, the character models, the personalities, the humor, the dialogue, the setting, the references, its all amazing. Normally ill find an AVN and its nothing too special, but this... i could play this story endlessly. I've never been so mentally consumed like this. I played it for almost 3 days straight (yes i got "some sleep" but if i was awake i was playing)like a damn addict. The finale to this is going to be too bittersweet. I look forward to all the new adventures!

Hi Caribdis! To be honest, I discovered early builds of Eternum two to three years ago. Even though my English was not very good at the time, I was still deeply drawn into its story. Ever since, I have kept an eye on project updates. I just created my Patreon account after finishing my play‑through of the latest version, 0.9.5. Once it was over, I found it hard to step away from the experience, as this chapter had come to an end. I have to say, encountering this game three years ago was a wonderful choice. [Long - Spoiler Free, aside from character names and a few character traits - support message at the end for the developer(s)] When I first downloaded Eternum, I had many preconceived notions about not only this genre of games, but games with lewd scenes and romance like Eternum. I am happy to say that I was very wrong - and I have never been this overjoyed to have been wrong. A few hours into my session, it became very apparent that this was a game made by developers who care, and a lot of time, thought, storytelling and soul went into the game. I very quickly fell in love with the characters presented. No voices, minimal animation, yet the words are conveyed well enough to get me, the player, to care deeply - and care for them far more than I have for almost any other video game character. Annie's softness, Nancy's tenderness and care, Penelope and Dalia's playfulness and tease, Alexandra's obvious hurt but need to push forward, Nova's absurdly cute obsessiveness - and more. These characters were portrayed in a way that makes them, and the entire game, truly intoxicating. I don't mean in a romantic or sexual manner alone either. I would have played through every second of this game had there not been a single full sex scene. These characters make you care, they make you worry, they make you concerned, they make you happy, they make you curious - with or without it. The storytelling genuinely surprised me, and the decisions I made because of it. I was completely unprepared for this level of authenticity, care, and attention to detail. In fact I was prepared to write the world off, treat it like nothing more than a vessel to get to the "fun stuff", but I couldn't help but want to explore, learn more about the story, world, and the NPCs/players in it, both for the short term and long term. I found myself on multiple occasions ignoring innuendos to learn more, choosing the path of information or curiosity, over pleasure or pace. I love the world this team has built, both inside the game of Eternum itself and the life the player has outside of it. There is a remarkable amount of depth to both. The world feels alive, even when the server, surrounding area, or mission area is "dead" or less populated - that is no easy feat. Even the cheesier characters you find throughout your playthrough, while their intent in the game can feel obvious, you still have a hard time writing them off. When I finished the current ending, I felt real sadness. I did not want the game to end - hell, I don't want it to ever end. I love this game, its story and its characters more than any game in broad or recent memory (Expedition 33 comes to mind, that is absolutely it). I found myself carving what time I could out of my evenings to play through and finish this game (sadly unaware the game was not finished yet): The fiction, is perfect. The escapism, is perfect. This game is... perfect (so far) Everything up to this point is not an easy thing to accomplish, and Eternum does it repeatedly. If I had to sum up the feeling this game gives me in three words: Surprising. Intoxicating. Loving. To the Developer or Development Team - A sincere Thank You. Thank You to every single general developer, animator, world builder, coder (I don't know game development, I'm sorry I can't be more role descriptive), story writer, and character writer that worked on this game. Whether you were front page on the credits, at the end, or not there at all and you filled a one-time niche role, you matter. You have created a game that, even if it were to end here and I not find the happy ending I would like to see, I would cherish wholeheartedly. You have completely shattered my perception of adult visual novels and the genre as a whole. You created a set of characters that I felt real emotion for. You created a world that I wish , as a person, I could explore myself. A mix of emotions and feelings I'm not sure I have ever felt from a game before. While I am unable to support financially right now, please understand that I am cheering you all on to finish this project. I pray that you do and it sees the ending or finish that you hope for. I hope that you can point to my review as proof that this game is worthy of every piece of praise it's gotten. You have full permission to use or post my review for any content or posts.

On Android version, instead of relying on current decompression and placing files method, try to create a downloader client like other games are doing recently. It's much easier. 2. Current Android client's target SDK Android 10, meanwhile we're already on the way to Android 17 this year. Please update the target SDK to minimum Android 15 or 16. I am truly impressed by the world-building, the character development of each of the girls, and the relationship-building, not just between them and the main character, but between the girls as well. I know translating an entire game can take a lot of time, but I think we could make the process much faster and easier with the help of AI translation tools. AI could handle the initial translations, and then we could review and correct them to make sure the dialogues sound natural in Turkish and preserve the original meaning. You're not wrong, I played the 2.0 and 3.0 and each update always adds plenty of content. Some of the best story, art, animations and pretty much everything I've seen in all the adult games I've played, also really knows how to end each update on a good cliff hanger leaving you wanting more.

I also really enjoyed Caribdis's prior game, once in a lifetime a lot. Although Eternum is superior in graphics, the humor, storyline music, of oial was already very good. If you haven't yet, maybe check it out.

Just started playing this game yesterday and honestly it's probably in my favorite to 5 games of alllllll time. The art is absolutely spectacular, animation is top notch, story is funny and exciting and even find myself getting giddy and emotional at times. Honestly amazing work and you have earned it with how amazing eternum is....now if only there was a game that could do this IRL that would be fantastic. Also love all the video game and pop culture and movie references truly a joy to play and you have earned every bit of my respect and I plan on supporting you as long as you keep making stuff as amazing as this....what we do in life echoes in eternity and this game embodies that. I can tell you put your heart and soul into making this.

You've done such an amazing job not only with the animations but the story as a whole. I loved Once in a Lifetime and I couldn't get over how amazing the story is. Now with Eternum I actually feel like I've been thrust into this alternate version of Ready Player One but 30* better.
