Dev - Update to Bimbo Village (Patreon)
Content
Today, I was finally able to spend some more time working on Bimbo Village — and this time, my focus was on Wizard’s Land, the area leading up to the game’s first dungeon.
Atmosphere and QoL
A lot of today’s work went into improving the overall atmosphere of the map.
With the next update, Wizard’s Land should feel much more alive and immersive. You’ll hear wind that rises and fades as you explore, new background music, and environmental ambience designed to make this area feel like a proper buildup to what awaits you inside the dungeon.
But atmosphere alone wasn’t enough.
The map was still missing events, encounters, and those smaller details that make exploration feel rewarding instead of simply moving from one location to the next.
So today, I added several new events that not only reveal a little more of the game’s lore, but also help give Wizard’s Land much more character and atmosphere.
And there’s one more thing I’m currently working on...
A New Encounter
In the upcoming update, you’ll get a first preview of a brand-new encounter involving a former guest of the Tower.
You’ll meet him while he’s trying to escape — and the decision you make during this encounter may determine whether he remains the person he is...
...or becomes her.
But that’s all I’m going to reveal for now. 👀
Overall, reworking Wizard’s Land took up a large part of my day. The new NPC encounter still needs some polishing and isn’t running quite as smoothly as I want it to yet, but it’s coming together nicely.
And soon, you’ll be able to try the first version yourself.
What do you think of the changes so far?
The first Alpha version is already available for testing to Second Content members.
Please keep in mind that this is still a very early Alpha build, wothout this new update. Some features are unfinished, certain encounters may still be rough around the edges, and things can — and probably will — change as development continues.
That also means your feedback is especially valuable right now.
If you’ve already tested the current Alpha, let me know what you think in the comments! What works for you? What needs improvement? And how does the Game feel so far?
