Hello, my loves, I hope you’re doing well. I’m writing to let you know that yesterday a catastrophe struck my country, with the epicenter right where I live. Two consecutive earthquakes, measuring 7.1 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, shook Venezuela. We had to flee our home to save our lives and those of our family, so I haven’t slept yet, and we’re quite nervous. Many buildings have collapsed, and many people are missing in my city and nearby cities. I hope for your understanding and support. I thought yesterday would be a great day to celebrate my son’s milestone, but today we’re filled with pain and sadness because of what we’re going through. I opened some commissions yesterday and will fulfill all my obligations. I hope things will calm down more as the days go by—it’s not easy. I can’t describe what it feels like to experience two earthquakes in a row—it’s hell itself.
