The Next Few Weeks (Patreon)
Content
I am going to be making a few more changes to content over August and I wanted to make sure you guys all knew what was going on and what the timeline will be.
For those who follow me on Twitter, I recently moved to Toronto and fairly close to the Youtube Space. The Youtube space is a building that Youtube owns that offers use of professional equipment and studio space for free to Youtubers with more than 10,000 subscribers.
I also tried a camera focused look for my last two videos, and got very positive feedback on the concept by friends and subscribers, but the viewer numbers and my own standards made me feel that the way I was doing it, especially the audio, is not up to the standard of Step Back. If I am to make a change, I want it to be in service of better and faster videos for you guys.
So, that being said, let me talk through the next few releases. I have a Step Back video coming out on August 15th. It's based on a book that comes out that day that a publisher sent me a review copy of to make a video. In return, they're going to promote it on the publisher's social media platform, and I got a free book, not a bad deal. I will have an affiliate link in the description for the book if anyone wants to get it and help Step Back at no extra cost. I will also have a cameo in a technicality video the same day, so it could be a very big day for the channel. This video will be in the older style, similar to the Nestor Makhno video.
I will then be writing 5 regular episode scripts, and a 1 year Patreon update script to take into the Youtube Space for August 19. I will then over that day record the principal photography for all of them. This is with a real studio, 3 point lighting, 8k 7,000 dollar cameras, and a real set.
The space needs to clear videos before they release, so there will be about a week delay after that, but the plan is to release from that point on a Step Back video every week. I will even record some quick Q&A videos to throw up as well. So from that point on, I will hopefully release a video every Thursday with Q&As on Mondays when available. I will then try to get to the space every 30 days or so and do 5 videos at a time, allowing for a bit of a buffer.
Going weekly will do wonders for the channel. Youtube loves that regularity as you likely know, and as well it allows for a huge uptick in the quality of the videos. More regular episodes mean I can do a whole bunch of tentpole content (I have Halloween episodes, black history month, pride month, and even an Oktoberfest episode I've wanted to make). And of course, MORE STEP BACK, which I imagine you guys would be happy with. I always wanted to seize on the productivity that comes with batching, and I can finally do it.
The future for Step Back looks bright people, and I am so grateful you guys have been here to keep the channel going, and help it grow. I wouldn't be here without your help :)
