Step Back Patron Newsletter - July 2019 (Patreon)

Hey friends,

I wanted to begin giving you an end of the month update on everything I've been up to. I want Patrons to see where I've been showing up in other places, what's come out on Step Back, and what to expect in the upcoming month.

Step Back Releases:

July 1 - The First Democratic Debates Postmortem https://youtu.be/oIs1eUdBHjU

    This was a fun wrapup on what's been going on in the Democratic primary series. After this, I am at the point where I've covered the candidates with a realistic chance of winning. I will likely get to the two meme candidates (Yang and Williamson) as well as any big things that come up. But as far as I'm concerned the series is good for now.

    This video did so so well. I had a feeling this would. I released it on the day I travelled to California. I am glad, so many folks liked it.

    This was a video which took months to produce, and people loved it. I want to keep more videos like this in the future, but it might be made difficult with the imminent closing of the Youtube Space. I will keep my eyes open for it!

July 26 - The Confederate States of America | Dead Countries https://youtu.be/cRB3Ym7_ZZk

     This was a project to see what I could put together on a (nearly) weekly basis to be my bread and butter of content. I am pleased to announce this video did gangbusters. It's only the third most successful video of my last ten because of how successful Ancient Aliens and the Far Right were. I am still refining my content strategy, but this is a good sign.

What's in Progress:

I am always working on scripts for the Cold War. 

On the Step Back front, I filmed a sequel to Ancient Aliens, a video on the Satanic Panic and D&D. With the youtube Space closing, I'm not sure when I will be able to make something similar again, but I will keep thinking and looking around.

I also got Skillshare coming back for a couple more spots, so I have a video on Brazil coming out on August 12 and one on Jainism coming on the 26th. Besides that, I will always have other videos in production. Projects on the go include another video for the LGBTQ+ history series on homosexuality among nuns and friars in the middle ages. I am planning a 9/11 truther revisit. Lastly, I'm in early plans to make a video on gender fluidity throughout history as a collaboration with Cypher, the Cynical historian.

As I boldly jump forward into full-time YouTubing, I rely on your support more than ever and want to say from deep down thank you so much for the help you've given, and I hope to make your pledges worth more and more every month :)
