If it makes you feel any better, actual nuclear armageddon is no longer a major concern of nuclear war. The weapons stockpiles aren’t that destructive anymore. It would be extremely devastating especially economically and in terms of loss of life, and could indirectly result in a severe enough calamity to cause the majority of people to die. That’s not really a solace, but I wouldn’t worry as much that it will escalate beyond 14 primary targets and a 50-70 mile teardrop shape area from them for a shorter period in the US within North America. Luckily for you none of those are near the St. Lawrence River/Great Lakes areas of Canada. I am within 70 miles conceivably of some areas. Not to get too depressing, but I already have a plan of where I’m going to stay for a few days or weeks if the winds heads towards me from a few possible targets near me (one being the most likely). You know what I do. If you want my thoughts on likelihood, I have thoughts. I do think the risk is very real, but don’t think we’re likely to be surprised within a one day period. I do think WWIII is a plausible outcome, and I’m frequently dealing with cyber attacks originating in Russia on US infrastructure.

This is a weird compliment, but despite the bleakness and the serious of the subject matter, you manage to convey things in a way that doesn't leave me despairing. Thank you
