Weekly Patron Update 2022-10-28 (Patreon)

Hello everyone!

Here again to give a brief update on the week. Overall, things were decent, but nothing was really dramatic. I made some progress on research for the next video due to wide release on November 11th on Y2K, the militia movement, and apocalypticism in American culture. A shape is coming together anyway!

I can also report back to say last week's release does seem to be a bit of a dud. The Putin video is underperforming and while it might find its audience eventually, it's not a great showing so far. But that's sort of the nature of the game anyway. Also on the not so happy side of things, I am doing a bit of holiday travel, which means the video releasing December 1 will be the last release of 2022, with the next coming out in early 2023. I thought I might be able to squeeze one more in for mid-December, but travel plans are travel plans.

Another bit to add is that in a conversation with a colleague I came to a few interesting insights about things to improve the channel with starting in 2023. Mostly, a hybrid scripted and bullet point format with a higher emphasis on building character and narrative in the videos. So, expect characters and a bit more personality coming out of me in the new year.
