We have the Step Back Patreon Questions and Answers thread for November 2022!

I'll be answering Patreon questions in a video every Monday morning. Catching up with those I haven't answered in a big video at the end of the month.

Thank you so much for helping me do what I do!

Now bring on the questions!!

Your opinion on “lefty” content creators often acting as islands unto themselves. Aside from collaborations, most creators don’t seem to bother or sometimes even avoid to point audiences to other directions to seek more information on a topic. And while the exceptions do that for fellow creators, I have yet to see any “activist cause” video (e.g. climate change) point anyone to check out any organisation or movement. While I understand that there may be legitimate reasons for avoiding certain plugs or even not have good ones to plug, the complete lack of them in even spaces that have a more “call to action” approach kind of hurt our ability to do anything. Every “consumer” is treated as just that - a consumer of content - left completely on their own on to figure out how to organise and fight for causes. Do have anything share or disagree on the matter, what do you suspect is the main cause of this?

Sorry if I am late in the month for this question. But how useful are protests as a tool in general? The main reason I am asking is because Extinction Rebellion(Climate activists) have been ramping up their protests over here a lot lately but I am not sure I am really seeing any improvements because of their protests. I don't disagree with their protests but it seems to me that they are sacrificing a lot(protests, physical harm, mental harm etc) for very little.
