Magnet deal (Patreon)

Many of us need lots of 5mm sphere magnets. I know I burn through enough that some day there will be a neodymium mine in china that has a plaque dedicated in my honor (probably not). I just ran into a deal that's 1000 for $28. Shipping is in the $16 range, so when I bought 2000, that came out to $76, or a unit price of 3.7 cents per, which is the lowest I've run into.

I've never used this store before, and since I just made the order I have no idea if this will work out, but given the unit price I've given it a shot, and you may want to as well.

Here's the deal

I have no connection to these people, but the deal was good enough I figured many of you would like to know.

I should be clear, sites like this generally are from china, service is generally terrible, but so far my orders from places like this eventually arrive, though sometimes wildly outside of the delivery window they tell you.

Aw man, I just ordered magnets the other day

dx.com served me well for most of last year, but the last two orders got haulted before leaving China, changed shipping method and then got lost in the mail stateside, and when the last one arrived, it was missing two tins. So, buyer be cautious. If you're skeptical of the above deal, I've gotten my last two shipments here, they generally have a really good deal (currently $8.99/216 pc. - 4.1 cents/magnet with free shipping) I've bought two orders from them and they arrived within two weeks reliably. https://www.gearbest.com/goods/pp_009938728895.html But I'm definitely going to try this one! Thanks Devon!

Thanks Devon! I was going to start sourcing more magnets in the next month or so, but I'll just grab a couple of these!

Just placed an order for 2 packs of 1000. It was only $4 more for the 3-7 business days option for the order, so I opted for that shipping method. We'll see if that is more reliable than the normal registered shipping, hahaha.

don't forget with the US govt shut down things are moving through customs very slowly. And so far every magnet order I have done has been opened and searched. But I guess a few thousand magnet balls is suspicious lol. I've had a package sitting in New York for three weeks. Hopefully they can get caught up soon...

Hopefully that problem is over for at least the next few weeks. Then we get to ride this goat rodeo all over again.

Order placed January 21st. Still 'processing.' Whew! I'm used to long fulfill times but this is just crazy... Good thing I won't need them for at least another few weeks, hehe.
