LMAO "high strangeness." Our brains are too good at filling in the gaps in our sensory inputs, and what we add is informed by our social and cultural backgrounds, you said it yourself! High strangeness is just when people unconsciously make up patterns that aren't there and then get spooked by it. It's our own brains telling us ghost stories. Go read L'Homme Machine by La Mettrie and maybe you'll grow up.
