So, AI-generated Ghibli-style art is suddenly everywhere, and naturally, people are side-eyeing anything that even remotely looks like it.

I get it, one day it’s all hand-drawn magic, and the next, a single key press and everyone’s turned into whimsical protagonists faster than you can say “Studio Ghibli lawsuit.”

“Wait a minute. AI Ghibli artsyle drops, and suddenly, Salaryman is a softboi summoned by a magical doorbell version of Tinder? Coincidence? I think the hell not.”

But instead of debating whether I actually drew this or if I finally snapped, bent the knee to our AI overlords, and chose the dark path of art fraud so I could spend my days sipping coffee and gaslighting everyone, I’m just gonna drop this timelapse video of my work and let you decide. Maybe artists are still out here suffering through every brushstroke, or maybe we’re all just AI-generated NPCs waiting for a glitch to expose the simulation. Who knows.

Either way, enjoy the video. I’ll be over here doing things the old-fashioned way; by physically deteriorating with every pen stroke like a true artist.

I can't quite explain why, but that specific AI generator is taking the whimsy out of seeing "Ghibli style art" for me. It was a special artstyle to see and special if you could pull off replicating it yourself (without AI) But now that it's at the push of a button I feel like it's that scene in Disney's The Incredibles where Syndrome goes, "When everyone is super, no one will be."
