Working Girls Monthly Chapter 9 is a special one. It finally opens up the deeper lore of the world, answering questions that have been bubbling quietly beneath all the chaos and gags.

I spent a lot of time debating what kind of story Working Girls Monthly should be. As a longtime fan of the Yakuza series, I considered going serious with the Monthly chapters, giving it a weighty main quest, while keeping Working Girls Weekly as the fun, wacky side missions. I agonized over that split for a while. But in the end, I realized this series works best when it leans fully into its own brand of absurdity. Itoya-san at the center of increasingly humorously irrational circumstances he keeps finding himself in through schemes, misunderstandings, and over-the-top drama is what I believe, defines the heart of this series. And that’s what I want to keep building from now on.

What really helped me decide, though, was your feedback during the last poll. Seeing how you responded, what you wanted more of, and how you saw the characters, it gave me clarity and direction. Your input ultimately shaped the direction the story is taking.
