Okay so I decided to just make the fuckin’ game. I dunno what it’s called, this little science fiction thing, but if you wanna play it there’s about 21 billion different enemies and NPCs in there. Feel free to create some Demikin and tell me about ‘em!

You say a "Shitty Outcome" isn't the same as a failure, but that still feels way too punishing. Even if rolling a 1 on a d6 is only about 3 times more common than on a d20, that still *feels* like a lot to the player, and might discourage folks from even trying. It's too big a risk to take every single roll, you're just setting your players up for failure at that point.

I think the nature of the world is that poor outcomes are frequent but not usually catastrophic - so it's more that one time in 6 something happens to pose more of a challenge. Escalation, not disaster.

There are several good suggestions in the comments section already, and I'm guessing you're wanting to keep the alliteration. I'll see if I can't cook something up to add to your options besides Starfall Stories, since that's missing that good D&D feel.

Im not an artist or a TYRPG game designer but i want to try to help. How about a species of human bunny/hare/jeckalope they go fast. Good Messengers, Scouts and fuck like speedster rabbits. Also the title rust and rubles is cool. How about dust and rust? If is a sci-fy western-ish theme the dust is the one of the desert and the rust the one of the scrap punk.
