I don’t think it’ll be unbearably bleak, almost a parody really. I think having the corporations be these all encompassing feudal nations has actually made the setting a lot more light hearted, you can either be employed by the corporation and live a humble little life with provided housing and company currency OR you could be rogue like Scooter and Diego and have to make your own money underground, either way you’re spending money in a corpo’s city so they don’t really care.
