Lemme know how this reads, I think it makes sense. 

One of the benefits of becoming a Paladin is you get given a suit of Fitted Armour, which I think is pretty cool.

Considering full plate armors are rare and expensive even in d&d, this doesent sound like a bad aproach, but if i were you i would add some kind of factor that implies that the armor is more suited for a gender depending on their sizes too

I assume you meant "if your roll totals 20 - or greater -". If that's the case you might want rewrite it or add a "+" to the 20
