Chapter 44: Vision of Her Dreams

It's funny how things that can remain consistent throughout your life, then when there's a sudden change it feels far more alarming than the scope of the change itself.

Was Ranthia's reaction to her new eyes an overreaction to you? I can see the argument, but it's an unexpected change that took something from her that she had always appreciated. Also, yeah, those are some freaky eyes. But I tend to be sympathetic to Ranthia's plights.

Testing out new skills and class upgrades is always a joy to write—and perform, clearly. There's something just genuinely fun about getting to demonstrate and try out new abilities or other toys. Even if Ranthia couldn't test out EVERYTHING since it's a [Warrior] class. Please do not throw Void-empowered knives on a busy road.

Also, Ranthia's lucky she didn't get an arrow or a spear in her for her stunt of leaping into a Ranger wagon unannounced. She was showing off WAY too much there.

Foreshadowing is a strange thing. Sometimes I think I've clearly foreshadowed things and only have one lone RR reader seem to catch part of it. Other times I never meant for something to come off as foreshadowing and EVERY reader gloms onto it. That's all I have to say about that for now.

The hurricane/typhoon thing was because of BtDEM—I went digging for which word Remus used and found... both. Interchangeably even! Yes they're the same thing, but still. So I decided to canonize that as a debate on which name to use. (I mean we're translating everything from Creation to English for the reader, but it's fun to imagine two different words got coined for that class of storm and no one can agree on which to favor.)

Will Ranthia get to avoid Perinthus? Will the storm cause them any further problems? Will Ranthia get more eyefuls of Secundia? The answers to these questions and less will come as we progress!
