Babies! 🖤 Now that the Tom in Black & White series is out, I wanted to tell you a little bit about how this part of the shoot came together.

I almost never create a series that is entirely black & white. I’m so used to working with color, playing with different tones, gels and palettes, that removing color completely feels like stepping outside my usual visual language.

And honestly, that’s exactly why I enjoy doing it once in a while. It feels refreshing. It forces me to look at the image differently and focus more on light, shadows, texture, shapes and the model himself rather than relying on color to create the mood.

The idea was actually inspired by the black & white BTS I created for Jan & Virgil. I really enjoyed how those videos looked, and it made me want to explore the aesthetic further with a full photographic series.

These photographs with Tom were made at the very end of our photoshoot, after we had already created two much more erotic concepts together. By that point, we had already explored a very different side of the collaboration, so I loved the contrast of finishing the day by slowing everything down and creating something softer and more artistic.

And I have to give Tom credit for being willing to go softer for this part of the shoot. After the energy of the previous concepts, it was really nice to see him embrace a completely different mood and let the images breathe a little more.

Sometimes changing the visual language is all you need to see a model in a completely different way.

And I think Tom looked beautiful in this one. 🖤📸

¡Babies!

Me resulta refrescante.
