Behind The Mask: Embracing Who We Truly Are / Detrás De La Máscara: Aceptar Quiénes Somos Realmente (Patreon)

Sometimes, I wonder how much of ourselves we hide just to feel accepted.
I know what it feels like to silence parts of yourself because you’re afraid of being judged, misunderstood, or rejected. To wear a mask so often that you almost forget what it feels like to take it off.
Our deepest desires and vulnerabilities can become the very things we’re most afraid to show the world. And yet, hiding them doesn’t make them disappear. It only makes it harder to feel truly free.
I’ve come to believe that embracing who we are takes courage, especially when we’ve spent years learning to be someone else just to fit in.
Perhaps that’s one of the things I love most about photography: creating a space where we can explore different sides of ourselves, challenge our own boundaries, and discover that the things we’ve been taught to hide might actually be the most beautiful parts of us.
Maybe taking off the mask isn’t about becoming someone new. Maybe it’s about finally giving ourselves permission to be who we’ve always been.
What would you allow yourself to be if you weren’t afraid of what others might think?
