Thank you for the wonderful lesson may i know what brush did you use to draw the buildings and what size is it ?

Julia Dreams

Glad you like it! I use brushes from my Realistic Watercolor Brushes collection. The size of the brush used depends on the area, but mostly at the maximum size.

I apologize but I’ve had a really hard time finding basic instructions for getting started. Especially in choosing canvasses. Seems some videos have the canvas in the tutorial file, and start out saying choose the canvas that comes with the lesson; and others need to go to the Watercolor Brushes file. I’m getting a slow start.

Julia Dreams

Hi Marsha! Canvases are not included in the lessons and the lessons only include a sketch, color palette and reference photo. Canvases are included in the Realistic Watercolor Brushes collection. You need to add this canvas to Procreate once and then you can copy it every time before you start painting and you just need to add a sketch to this canvas. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll be happy to help!

JULIA:很高興的跟你說,我照著視頻的教學完成它了,目前它是我花了最長時間的作品,但是完成後很漂亮,而且學到了新的技巧,雖然我已經在IG上分享了,還是忍不住在這里跟你說聲謝謝!

Julia Dreams

Thank you very much for your kind words! I am very glad that this video was useful for you and you learned something new!

Asma

Dear I don’t know from where getting the brushes and the watercolor background paper

Julia Dreams

Hi Asma! In my tutorials, I use the Realistic Watercolor Brushes, which also come with a canvas included in the set. Please note that these brushes are not part of the subscription — but you can purchase them either here in the shop or in my Etsy store. As a Patron, you also receive an extra discount coupon, which you’ll find in the pinned post. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you. Julia.

Hi there! I’m having trouble with the color palette when uploading the photo into my palette. They don’t look the same, do you have any advice?

Jacie

Hi what settings are your brushes on? I have your brushes but if I use them in the largest size like you have it it only stays thickThere’s no way to get it to be thin like you have at some points in the same swipe of the brush. Idk if that makes sense but I’m struggling to get the brushes to work how it does for you .

Julia Dreams

Hi Riley! Sorry, I just saw your comment! The color palette is ready to use and is included in the folder. You insert a photo and get a palette with the colors from the photo, but it's better to use a pre-made one, since all the colors are already adjusted and selected.

Hi Jacie! May I ask which Apple Pencil you use?

Jacie

It is the USB-C Apple Pencil!

Julia Dreams

This version of the Apple Pencil doesn't have pressure sensitivity, so the brushes also don't have pressure sensitivity. Therefore, all brushes in Procreate won't work correctly.

Jacie

Would the gen 1 Apple Pencil work? My iPad isn’t compatible with gen 2.

Julia Dreams

I think so! As far as I know, all other pencils have pressure sensitivity except USB-C.

Julia como faço para usar a textura do papel? Eu comprei teu pacote e já abri as texturas mas como meu ipad é o 9 se eu colo ele limita a criação de mais camadas, tem alguma forma de contornar isso? talvez diminuindo o dpi?

Julia Dreams

Hi Maria! The number of new layers that can be created on the canvas depends on the iPad's performance. You can reduce the canvas size to create more space for new layers. To do this, open the canvas and click Actions - Canvas - Crop & Resize - then just drag the corners and make the canvas smaller. Let me know if it works for you. Thank you. Julia.

Julia Dreams

Hi Maria! You can export the illustration in PNG format, but without disabling the texture, you can cut out the illustration. I have a video on how to do this. You can find it in the Collections - Fundamentals folder "How to Export a Transparent PNG ✂️". (unfortunately, I can't insert the link here because it won't be clickable). This method takes some time to cut out the illustration, but it is currently the fastest way to preserve the texture for the illustration and have a transparent background for the print. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you. Julia.
