Hello dear Patrons 💛 I'm happy to share with you my step-by-step tutorial for creating a Blueberry illustration. To help you get started right away, I’ve included all the necessary files: a PDF tutorial, sketch, and color palette. For the best download experience, I recommend accessing the files through a web browser rather than the app.

Enjoy the creative process, and happy drawing! ✏️

Thank you so much for this! I can't wait to try it.

Liz Ahlen

Thank you! I love the tutorials 😃

Honigmond

Thank you, already tried it out. 😌

Nina Jacobs

This is the first time I am doing this step by step with you. So I have a question, is each step a new layer? Or layered on same layer?

Nina Jacobs

And is your opacity turned all the way up?

Julia Dreams

Thank you! 😊 I paint everything on one layer so I can use a Water Wash brush and blend the colors. Sometimes I add a new layer on top for details. ✨

Julia Dreams

I don't change the opacity settings and use it as I originally set it up. It should be around 90%. You must have the same setting as this setting is saved when exporting.

Nina Jacobs

Thank you for confirming!! I assumed so but wanted to double check :)

Hi there, when I paint a darker colour over a lighter colour with the first brush it seems to lose all the texture as if it’s gone to the back? Not sure how to maintain the darker brush texture over the top of a lighter wash. Thank you!

Julia Dreams

Hi! When using the first brush, the colors intersect and overlap each other, and a dark color can become lighter if overlapped with a light one. If it's filling the berries, then that's ok because then you'll be using a Water Wash brush to blend. But if you want to add details, you can create a new layer on top and then the colors will have more contrast. I hope this was helpful. Let me know if you have any questions. 😊✨

Clair Grayston

Thanks, that’s helpful. I wonder if I’ve inadvertently fiddled with a setting though. I also don’t seem to be able to achieve the same wash effect as the basic video you have with the oranges at the start? It just seems to lose the brush texture. Is there a way I can send you an example? Thanks again.

Julia Dreams

Yes, sure! You can send me a screenshot and I will try to understand what the problem is and help! Unfortunately it is impossible to attach a screenshot here. You can message me on Instagram. I will be waiting for your message.

Noella

Hey Julia… could you please save the files as a zip the way you did for the tangerine tutorial please… thanks 😊

Julia Dreams

Hi Noella! I updated the files and uploaded the zip file for this tutorial. 😊✨

Alaina Manning

This tutorial inspired me to give digital art a try, thanks so much!!

Sara

Hi, is it possible for you to make one tutorial of wood and forest animals like babmi, fox etc. Like I saw on one of your photos here?

Julia Dreams

Hi Sara! Thank you very much for your offer! Most likely these illustrations were drawn a long time ago and I'm not sure that I have the files to create a tutorial. But I will check it and if there are any files then I will definitely create a tutorial.

Sara

Thank you in advance. I'd love to see your approach for painting little rabit, bear, fox or something like that. Just love your style and will be great to see it on those cuties applied.
