Dear friends,

Do you think that the game needs some sort of “auto-battle” feature? It would be a function allowing the player, after performing certain actions to unlock the feature, to be able to go to the forest to hunt something like a wolf, then click on an “auto-battle” button to immediately receive the loot from the wolf without actually playing through the whole combat.

Should we add a feature like that to the game? And if so, which actions should be necessary to unlock the feature in-game? What should the prerequisites be for the player to access the “auto-battle” feature?

As always, your opinions are important to us, so please share your thoughts in the comments.

I think for basic enemies i believe it would be a really good idea

Sean Rubber Duck Cravens

I wouldn't mind it, but I admit that I'm a little unsure of just how it would work with the card-based system.

Keenir

hm...I enjoy the card battling. that said, i can see how there can be days that I don't really care how low my health bar gets, or i'm just hunting to pass the time rather than to be sure i get through a journey (journey such as the way to the fair Arachne)

jhoss12

I think it would be nice

Eatable Teeth

Ideally not. Like you'd only need to do that if an unreasonable amount of loot is required to do something, in which case you could reduce the requirement. It would be a patch over a game design mistake.

Things that would speed up battle are hot keys bound to the cards in your hand, for example, from left to right it would 1-10 or whatever then we can use the mouse click to select the target. Letting space bar end turns would be a good hotkey as well instead of having to individually click it. Lastly I think having a setting to let us speed up animations for cards and attacks would be nice as well.

Keenir

maybe a prerequisite could be having a minimum number of health/healing elixirs in the Hunter's backpack?

raspberryfox

Probably depends on how far the game goes. In its current form, looting didn't feel like a chore at all yet. Especially with more abilities and gear killing basic monsters might become too easy to justify and auto-battle feature. I would say it's just a better idea to try to make battles themselves more interesting. Maybe add more variation and styles to strats you can try to develop? Maybe explore bow as a separate kind of weapon with its own quirks?

EliteK

I wouldn't mind if it is only for normal mobs outside of dungeons and bosses.

ShyFaux

I feel like the better solution is to try and ensure grinding isn’t really a thing. If you need to skip battles because of the crafting system requires you to fight the same things over and over that’s probably more of the issue.

Shura

Probably add it for people who enjoy going through the story more than the battle system, but as for me I'd like to use the card system but still would prefer a non grind experience overall.

Holly

I'd say no. But if yes, let's condition the unlock with two flawless victories against same enemy in row (as in ending up with same or more hitpoints than started).

Possessedferret

I don't think it's necessary, but battles could be more efficient. For example, when healing or defending, I don't see why I should specify who's benefiting unless I have an ally. Same goes for attacking single creatures. Also, I think we could automatically end the turn when running out of stamina or battle cards in hand

Kuro Okami

I would say for things like hunting yes otherwise no so you just make the Prozess of farming less tedious

Редис Редискин

как-то излишне мультяшно и неинтересно стали выглядеть модельки, как по мне...

RamLock

As long as it is player-selectable I suppose… I personally wouldn’t be using it except possibly grinding for gold/gems. It just seems like it would detract from the spirit/experience of the game. Perhaps make it a part of the cheat menu, so those wishing for a classic hardcore experience (no cheats) could simply avoid the cheat feature altogether.

Muschi

I also think that it would be better to steer design in such a way where grinding isn’t necessary, or just at a bare minimum level, as opposed to introducing tools to facilitate it. If you were to add such an auto-battle feature, however, instead of making it an unlock, I would have it cost a number of health points based on the specific enemy being hunted. For instance, if wolves have 60 health and deal 10 damage per turn, and the Hunter deals an average 15 damage per turn, then pressing “auto-battle” to hunt a wolf would cost 40 health (offset by armour): with those stats, it takes on average 4 turns to kill a wolf, wolf deals average 10 damage per turn, so 40 damage for one auto-battle. (These numbers are just examples—you can determine any such averages as you see fit.) This way, auto-battles would still depend on levelling and gear, instead of becoming a free resource button, which also means you don’t need to lock them behind a quest, etc.

RamLock

The thought just occurred to me, that player judgment for features like this are probably quite premature for good judgment, since we have no knowledge of the planned future of the game. This in mind, I hope you are just fishing for ideas you can implement at some point in the future, and not for something on which you want to build the future of the game. (Feature vs Foundation) I hope this makes sense to you, because when I read it, it was more confusing than I thought it was when I wrote it.

Robert Xavier

Rather than having it as an option to select when hunting, make it something that happens automatically each hunt if you manage to kill that specific creature once without taking damage. If a player manages that, then they've proven that manually fighting it no longer carries a risk, and it would be a waste of time to make players do it.

Thupppppppt

I'd say no. The battling is one of the best parts of the game.

ВечноЮный

I find that idea quite alluring because it would help to avoid pointless grind.

Truman Woody

I think that would be a good deal for the harvesting but when your doing the dungeons that wouldn't be good to do

Christopher Hollier

I'm indifferent, whatever grind this game has had seems manageable. Hard to say either way.

Oleg Bogomolov

Да. Автобой точно не помешает !

Peter

I liked the battles. I would not use the auto battle feature.

Dracosfire7

Maybe it could be a togglable difficulty option?

Tobse

Its fine without Auto Battler

Sickmann666

just make auto battle in 18+ scenes, so people can free their hands, if you know what i mean.. 😏 And i think that dragging cards would be better than clicking them.

Herpeton

I think that's a good idea. Sometimes it's bored fighting and fighting so having the chance to choose between fighting and simulating is not bad.

D_Hacker57

I think Auto battle will allow those who are going for the story to focus there, since it should be optional, those that ant the fight will get there part as well.

RandomItalian

It would be nice when grinding for materials, like skip if you have already won this battle 5 or something times. but otherwise naaaa

Corrupt

I would love this option personally.

Izanagi.

Battle the same enemy 5-10 times to unlock skipping the battle and receiving the loot immediately + any damage you might have taken. Although the latter is optional

Arcane Alchemist

that would be nice! after you have the stats to defeat an enemy, fighting it again and again for drops gets tedious.

Thaldor

I’d say it could available after slaying that given monster 5 times, Or better yet, simply having slain that monster without taking any damage/finishing the fight at full health. That way the game KNOWS you can beat it without consequence already.

Baltasarr

For an old or finished area sure ... but if it would be the first time experiencing the enemy please dont
