Dear friends,

Today, we would like you to help us choose which of two paths we should take. We’re speaking in regards to the auto-battle feature, which will allow you to refrain from actually playing out the entire combat encounter with an enemy if you so choose. By pressing the auto-battle button before the battle itself begins, you’ll instantly defeat your enemy and receive the loot from it.

Please read both possible versions of how the auto-battle feature will work, and only then vote for your favorite of the two options. These represent exactly how the auto-battle feature will be implemented in the game.

Version 1:In this version of the auto-battle feature, if you defeat an enemy on the battlefield, there’s a 50% or higher chance that you’ll receive an auto-battle badge for the defeated enemy. What does that mean? Here’s an example: If you fight a wolf and defeat it, and you receive the auto-battle badge when you win, then you can use that badge when engaging another wolf to perform an auto-battle with it. If you collect three such wolf badges, then you can auto-battle three wolves at once. Consumables in this auto-battle version: auto-battle badges. Auto-battles take place without costing the hunter any HP.

Version 2:In this version of auto-battle, in order to unlock the auto-battle feature you’ll need to defeat an opponent three times in a normal battle, and then you’ll be able to use auto-battle an infinite number of times against that opponent. Here’s an example: If you defeat a wolf three times in a regular battle, you’ll then be able to auto-battle single wolves. If you defeat a pair of boars three times in a normal fight, you’ll be able to auto-battle pairs of boars. In this variant of the feature, using auto-battle will cost the hunter some of his HP.

Thanks for reading! Now, please cast your votes!

Overall I prefer the second option, but I could see the first being implemented as a rare extra bonus. Perhaps 10% of the time, winning a battle would earn you the special auto battle card which you could use to win a battle without HP loss.

Either would work for me but I prefer option 2 as the general rule. I can see a combination of the two working in some cases as well. For example when there are multiple tiers of a monster type (maybe basic, elite, and boss) a perfect win against the lowest tier could give you the autowin perk against that tier where wins against he higher tiers would give you badges you could use to buy perks to give advantages

Keenir

either would work. perhaps auto-battles (at least against easy enemies) have a cost - whether in gold or health points (ie, the Hunter gets wounded and loses a third of his energy)

BloodWolf503

Personally I think both options are good but if you do version 1 you should be able to exchange the auto battle points for a perk or money and if you pick version 2 you should implement That there is a chance where the player takes damage

EliteK

I'm going with option 2 because I feel an auto-battle system should always have a catch. In this case, still able to lose HP and having to unlock it for every enemy. Option 1 sounds way too complicated for such a simple mechanic.

I prefer option 2, though there should be some way of reducing the damage taken. For example, you could make it so damage taken is based on your armor compared to highest direct damage that the enemy can do, with the highest damage being multiple by how many enemies there are.
