Dear friends.

It has been proposed that we add a button to the game that toggles censorship on/off. Do you think that that would be a helpful feature and that we should implement it?

It's a nice idea that I wouldn't complain about, but if adding the censored mode delays "real" development much, I'd much rather not have it

TsunTzu

For my personal use? No. For streamers? Yeah, I can see it being useful.

EliteK

Why would people play a NFSW game if not for the nsfw content? 🤔

ProteccMaster

It might be useful after the game’s complete. So streamers can play it safely. But now? I don’t think it’s a priority.

Neither kids nor adults would be fooled in this day and age...

emanul.cld

i dont even understand why this is a question, why would someone play a nsfw game for no nsfw content

Sower of Systems

Depends how much time it will take to implement. Clearly if you have been asked about it then there are people who would like it, so if it wouldn't take long to implement then you might as well

Felix

I’d like to be able to play the game with my family around and not worry about what might pop up. This is a fun game and is destined for more than lonely faps.

Sean Davenport

Well the story and music is done well enough that even with out the NSFW content I think the game could stand on its own. I do love the content but I play the game for the music puzzles and quests

Zonambulous

I think that if it was to take time away from other improvements, it would be fine to push this feature to the back burner. It's a good idea for playing it around others, but no necessary in my opinion.

Fortunekuger

It means more people can stream the game giving you free advertising

Vevenue

More options are always nice

RamLock

In most places I've worked, NSFW content with "censored" patches, blurring, or pixelization, is still NSFW, and would be treated as such. If they are concerned due to underage viewing, that's on them to police. Not you.

Ryan

I always thought it was funny when something is "censored" yet the characters are clearly having *fun* together but with like a blur at the groin or breast. Like if those things were blurry you would play it in the living room with your family. However, I think it's a decent idea. Would YouTube really allow NSFW "let's play" content if there were blurry bits. Maybe this has something to do with Japan?

Martin Wood

I'll never use it, but I could see reasons to implement. As long as it was something not too difficult to develop and easy for the user (like the other user settings).

Zann Nightroad

Helpful, maybe not. But shouldn't be too difficult to implement. And being available for other media platforms would help spread the word.

Dex Ezekiel

Even if you implemented it, why would anyone allow someone to play this game who should not be seeing the R-rated content, even if you censored it, it would still be very evident what is going on. For some international audiences you may end up needing to censor anyway. But I need more info, will it remove the erotic scenes entirely and let me allow my son to play, or will it just blur it out or put stickers over their genitals (in which case I would not let my son play)?

Benevolent Cerc

Legitimately feels like a huge waste of time unless it opens up a new market like Japan or something.

Hurley

Similar to what others have said, I can see the value in adding it, but not if it greatly extends regular game development. The game itself is good and fun to play, with or without H-scenes. Perhaps a a bonus content once primary development has been completed?

crackpipefiend

I don't think that feature would see much use from your current audience. That said if you think it is a feature that is worth developing to reach a larger audience then I would recommend doing it.

Drefan Drecanios

Well once the game is more developed. With that button streamers could play it for the story aspect of it. Thus giving more people a point of view of the game. Could make plans for it later for that fact.

Elsidia

Answer is no, if censored not turn on for always. If need censored, then better is add button to allow play without censored.

Michael Mobley

It's an adult game, why would we want or need that?

Mobian Arnadi

When it comes to censorship, I like how companies like Kagura Games does it where they release a "watered down" version of the game (altered game mechanics, no adult scenes at all) for purchase, which is suitable for all audiences, and offers a R18 patch for free on their website for people who wish to enjoy the adult content. Given that this IS patreon, and you're likely a small team, if not a standalone dev, I'd vote no to this approach as it's much more labor intensive.

An Anonymoose

I don't see the harm in having it as a toggle. I don't see too much of a need for it either though.

MazHazPazzaz

I mean if it takes no time to add, I'd don't see why not, but similarly I don't see why unless it's to give potential of YouTubers playing it.

Ryan

If it's to reach a wider audience, add some suggestive pre-scenes that allude to what is about to happen then fade away to the end* (*Mass Effect/Dragon Age/AAA RPG style). or cut to some generic humorous scene like someone (the same guy every time lol) who keeps catching them or complaining about noise at a tavern or something. If you feel like the game stands as a regular game, as well as an "adult" game, go for it.

Ryan

I wonder if Steam has the ability to sell the game as a regular, non-restricted game with an adults-only rated DLC upgrade. That could be a good financial choice that may even lead to increasing funds which perhaps lead to increasing content and getting more team members or contract/commission work.
