Dear friends,

Do you want us to provide in-game hints about how and where to acquire specific quests?

Maybe make it an option you can turn on if you want it

Sultahid

Maybe a toggle that pops up when you start a new game? I personally don't see how anyone would care if it was just permanently there, but since some people voted no, a toggle seems like a good idea?

If I'm perfectly honest, I've been hoping for a walkthrough to avoid stumbling around so much that I can't catch up!

Salamass

I just think it would be a good quality of life kind of thing

Arv13

They're mostly pretty easy to understand though

Muschi

Voting no, but not because I think it's “immersion-breaking” or whatever. I just think it's not necessary.

Surely there's a compromise here? How intrusive are the hints? Lots of unanswered questions that change the context.

Daniel Mallett

Yes, but make them subtle. Like "I heard something weird was going on with the executioner, you should try talking to him"

Accessibility feature and options will never be a bad thing.

Firstly it was my impression that you already did that. Secondly, if you do provide them, make it an item in the cheat code menu, for the people who are into shortcuts Normally I blunder through new releases to “get the lay of the land” so to speak. Then I go back and play a new game from the start, as a character of a certain background or philosophy to usually find all the ways to lose, quite frankly, then yet again, to try and find every possible non-losing outcome. This way, by the second or third time, in game hints or guides, usually just slow me down.

The best option would probably be to have diegetic hints, with people actually giving you directions or hints integrated into dialog and narration and such. The second part would be subtly using the UI to nudge people towards things by maybe making the borders around locations of interest slightly thicker or brighter, maybe changing the pose of characters into a new state if their dialog options have advanced, etc. You don't need a text prompt to tell ypu "Next quest is at X" when a character or the UI can subtly nudge you. However, there can be an extra setting that you are informed of for those that do want the unambiguous hints

SpectralTime

Maybe an option to turn them off?

D_Hacker57

yes add with option to turn.
